The West Adopts Sharia Blasphemy Laws

73

Pakistan’s The Nation reported Saturday that a Christian has been arrested for criticizing Muhammad. That is the sort of thing that happens frequently in a state that enforces Sharia blasphemy laws, but in Europe and North America, we are more enlightened. We value the freedom of speech, and understand that free and unrestricted discourse is an indispensable foundation of a free society. Or at least we used to. A few recent news items show how far Islamic blasphemy laws have advanced in the West.

In Britain last week, a hamburger vendor named Jim Gardiner refused to serve a customer, Piers Palmer, after Palmer disagreed with Gardiner’s Islamocritical views. That was a bit rude, but then Palmer reported Gardiner to the police for “hate speech.” Gardiner went to court, and was fined.

It’s police state behavior to turn in someone to authorities for ideological deviance, perhaps hoping to curry favor by doing so. Piers Palmer will soon be living in the Britain he has chosen and that he wants, and by then he may regret the course of action he has taken, but at that point it will be far too late.

Story continues below advertisement

The Belfast Telegraph reported several weeks ago that “three men have been arrested in relation to suspected hate crime in Armagh and Coalisland. Police conducted searches and arrested three men age 31, 38 and 47. They have been arrested as a result of an investigation following reports of anti-Islamic material being displayed in the Armagh area….”

The Belfast Telegraph, sensitive to Islamic sensibilities, does not tell us what this “hate crime” consisted of. If it involved direct incitement to violence, then these men should have been arrested for incitement to violence. But if it consisted solely of criticism of Islam, then the question becomes, would they have been arrested for anti-Christian material? Anti-Jewish material? Or is it a “hate crime” only to criticize Islam in Northern Ireland? If so, when did the U.K. become a Sharia state?

These cases show that the freedom of speech is dead in Britain. It is illegal to hold critical views of Islam or Muslims. If Jim Gardiner or these three Northern Irish had criticized Christianity and Christians, they never would have run afoul of the law.

In France, meanwhile, journalist Éric Zemmour has been charged with “incitement to discrimination and hatred against people of Muslim faith” for the crime of saying that Muslims “have to choose between Islam and France,” and that “Jihad is a religious duty,” and that “Muslims consider jihadists as good Muslims,” and that “moderate Islam does not exist.” These statements are all demonstrably true, but truth appears to be no defense in Sharia France. Zemmour, like Gardiner, would not be facing any charges if he had criticized Christianity or any religion other than Islam.

And in Canada, the American political activist known as “Wild Bill,” Bill Finlay, was invited to speak in Calgary about the impact of Sharia on women and children, and about the freedom of speech. But he never got there: Canadian authorities stopped him at the border and confiscated his iPad, accusing him of attempting to smuggle “hate speech” into Canada.

Can it happen here? Of course. In New Jersey in late June, Prospect Park Mayor Mohamed Khairullah grew enraged during a contentious Prospect Park Board of Education meeting when board member Emma Anderson stated: “This is not Sharia law, this is an orderly session.” Khairullah called for her resignation, as did the Hamas-linked Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). So far Anderson has not obliged, but clearly Khairullah and CAIR are trying to set a precedent: even the most offhanded remark, if it is even remotely critical of Islam, is cause for firing and ostracism.

They’re well on their way to success already. All over the West, non-Muslim authorities are willingly adopting Sharia blasphemy norms. Where will it end? Will the West passively acquiesce to the full implementation of Sharia, or will at some point authorities draw the line and say Thus far, and no farther? If they ever intend to do that, they should do it quickly, for as these cases indicate, the freedom of speech is eroding rapidly. No one seems particularly concerned about that now, but they may find that they miss it when it’s gone.

Robert Spencer, through his writings, talks, and jihadwatch.org, has been sounding the alarm for many years. I have learned a tremendous amount about Islam — the truth of it — through his site and writings.

Islam is here. Let’s oppose it wherever we can, especially — foremost — defend the First Amendment Right to criticize Islam, and whatever else we wish to criticize.

I like how Robert call the hot dog vendor an ‘Islamocritic.’ Let’s start using that word — the accurate word — instead of Islamophobe. ‘phobe’ means an unreasonable fear of something. The fear of Islam is as rational as anything can be.

Well said! There is s very real, very valid reason Islam is so afraid of critique, debate, and dialog: It would all fall apart.

Christianity welcomes, and has survived 2,000 years of criticism, debate, and open dialog. People are free to choose Christianity, without threats of death or torture, if they choose to change their faith at a later date.

I hope you and Michael Buley like my letter to the Muslim Canadian Minister of Immigration:
Dear Mr Hussen
Regarding Bill C-6.

I wish to inform you that the Canadian Government decision to re-instate the citizenship of individuals who went off to fight for savage Islamic terrorist groups like ISIS and al Qaeda, and your support of this, is testament to mindless absurdity and stupidity. It is a disgraceful act of devaluing Canadian citizenship.

Some of these men will have been involved in depraved acts of cruelty, bigotry, intolerance and hatred, targeting as they have non-Muslims and Muslims of a different branch to their own, including as it will rape of sex slaves, their mind forevermore contaminated by their cruel actions, and yet you consider it alright to have this unrepentant human vermin walk among us.

Further, time and again the Muslim groups with which these individuals aligned themselves have declared that they are at war with Canada and the West in general. Are you not now going to demand that before re-instatement of citizenship they must first renounce their affiliations and beliefs of those groups, not least to wage war on Canada?

That you actually defend this mentally-deranged and unprincipled decision reflect poorly on your character, that of the Prime Minister and all who support this disgusting monstrosity of a Bill.”

Can you believe it, he didn’t have the courtesy to respond!

I sure did. I am a Canadian but its not something to be proud of with the idiot we have as Prime Minister. He is gradually selling and giving away my country. I don’t know your politics but I wish we had system like yours. We cannot control his antics as long as the Liberals have the majority we can’t get rid of him until the next election. I like Trump where many don’t but he can be controlled by the House and Senate. I hope that the Canadians will be smarter next time. He appears to favour the Muslims with his open border attitude and they never seem to lose if they go to court to sue someone. They get away with everything and if you say something you are branded a racist. Look up the Motion 103 Islamaphobia and you will get a good idea of where he stands. He even socks with the Muslim “Eid Mubarek” on them to recognize their holy day. He has socks for all occasions. He is a nut.

Anyone who tells me I’m ‘racist’ for condemning Islam’s mindless insanity will get a mouthful, not least the opinion that they are ignorant for equating Islam and Muslims with race. There is now no doubt at all that Trudeau is at least infatuated with Islam and Muslims – and by the smiles on their faces it’s evident they consider him ‘hooked’. The man is simply a pitiful dope.

Of course Mohammad and serious Muslims hate pride and gays. As to Allah, in my estimation he is simply Satan, who Muslims elected their god. That aside, Allah is a fictional god and in as such a son of a bitch criminal god. As to Trudeau, he is really a very stupid man whose comment was intended to change Muslim attitudes toward homosexuals. He won’t change a thing because they believe that what Mohammad said is the final word.

And variations of Islamic Sharia law are being applied in other areas viz likewise “protected” supremacist classes – one of which can be best described as Greenwich Village/San Francisco/Fire Island “values.” Which are now as much law in Canada, and Britain and Germany, as Sharia, and is accelerating at a frightening rate in the US. Remember, if our elites appease one special-interest group, they will fold like a cheap fan to others.

Being a critic of any religion is likely to get the critic in trouble. From my perspective, while I can and do accept those of faith who believe and conduct themselves as good people and neighborly people, I am also a person who perceives what few ever say as a criticism of religion. Religion has historically created castes and societies that have created conflict between one and the other. To say so is considered inexcusable, though I believe that there is total truth in saying just that. Those people who promote their religion often do it to preserve their power and control. Although the teachings of most religions do not today promote domination and conflict between the different religious cultures, Islam has as its underpinnings manmade writings that do create and promote conflict. Islam promotes itself as the domineering religious system, subjugating all other religions as inferior and disrespected. The system of laws that Islam follows (Sharia) is essentially one that does not respect individual rights, treats women as chattel, accepts honor “killings,” and believes that it’s God expects that the believers overrun all other religions by force if necessary. That seems obvious from the conduct of the Islamic radicals, which is overwhelming evidence of the dangers inherent within Islam. Therefore, we all must be on our guard and being an Islamic critic seems patently justified. I hope that Spencer is correct in suggesting that we now can see the justification for the appropriate criticism of this very dangerous belief system. I also hope that our legislative bodies create laws that will actively prohibit and actively prosecute all those who promote or teach concepts of incitement to violence which, I believe today, is being promoted and preached within the Mosques and by the leaders within Islam. These laws would apply to all groups or individuals, whatever their belief system, and therefore apply to all those residing here in America.

You are absolutely right. I am not one who will bad mouth a religion who’s teachings promote goodness. All I said above in my comments to this article is that Islam does not promote goodness. It is a religion that favors domination at all costs, promises of an afterlife of pleasures associated with the committing of heinous acts, has a legal belief system that is corruptly in favor of the male and treats the female as a commodity at the males pleasure, and in many other respects should have long ago collapsed into infinity. Those within the Islamic world do nothing to even attempt to right this very poisoned belief system for fear of losing their life, if that was even possible, and as a result I am very critical of the belief system that is Islam. The evidence seems to me to be overwhelmingly in favor of that criticism.

For whatever reason, it seems that most Americans must think that the Muslim Brotherhood’s goal to destroy our nation and way of life is no real threat to be concerned about, thus, no interest at all in wanting to even listen to nor desire to read warnings about the clear and present danger that we face in America. What is worse is that many of our very own elected representatives are pretty “cozy” with Islamic organizations and individuals who have ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. A few reasons come to mind of why this is so. Thanks for being one to recognize the reality of this threat and thanks again for signing the petition.

There is another “religion” that is protected by from the truth. It is called HOMOSEXUALITY. The Canadian supreme court unanimously convicted William Whatcott of hate speech, telling him that “The truth is no defense.” This fascist decision was made about 3 or 4 years ago. (Check out the ‘Whatcott Decision’). A chill has been put on any unpopular speech; speech that disagrees with the dictatorial authorities. Sounds like Communist China, Fascist Nazi Germany under Hitler, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, and now Britain and Canada. Many states of the U.S. persecute any public rejection of homo lifestyle. Schoolchildren are indoctrinated to support the homo lifestyle complete with their adulterous values. Christianity rejects adultery as sin against one of the ten commandments, so the governments are actively fighting and persecuting and prosecuting Christians and anyone else who speaks publicly and even privately to children upon penalty of the child being removed from the parents by the children’s aid societies. This is the new law in Ontario, Canada. God save us, in Jesus’ name!

I am and in a letter told Justin Trudeau what a disgrace it is. In response I received the most mindlessly stupid response from Ottawa. Evidently someone hadn’t read my somewhat disparaging and insulting letter and wrote to me as if I my letter had supported this latest bit of insanity.

Me too. Just a programmed response. They probably count all letters etc. as positive support for the idiot.

The most dangerous venue for this Shariah compliance to speech codes is in university classes, where they seldom see the light of day from the community. Every student raising tricky questions must calculate how much they are willing to sacrifice their grade point average to the truth. My daughter attends George Mason U., just outside Wash. DC, majoring in pre-law and homeland security, and has encountered more and more adjunct profs from the Middle East, further blurring young people learning how to confront Islamic distortion, when they have little power.

Yes, excellent idea, use islamocritic because I don’t have fear of Islam. I’ve used misoslam but islamocritic is the best
