How come when an assailant shouts “Allahu akbar,” the claims of insanity are usually made at the outset? We now learn that the Finsbury attacker recently begged to be hospitalized after attempting suicide. And still this information is swept under the prayer rug.
We don’t know what happened (facts are difficult to come by in this particular news story), but I do know there is no movement to mow down Muslims at mosques. But there is a global Islamic movement to wage war in the cause of Allah and slaughter unbelievers. This act by a seriously mentally ill individual is a one-off, a psycho, who gave the left the ammo they needed to advance a dangerous and deceitful narrative of extremist equivalence.
And why is this designated “terror” almost immediately? The rush to call it terror juxtaposed with the refusal to do the same when it is Islamic terror is telling. “Terrorism” is the “use of violence or threat of violence especially against civilians in the pursuit of political aims, religious, or ideological change.” This attack, if that is indeed what it was, is no such thing. There is no violent political movement. There are no calls or manifesto for such violence (unlike the Quran). On the flipside, this is the very definition of a “lone wolf” — a madman who goes off his rocker.
Further, no one died as a result of the isolated van incident at the terror-tied Finsbury Park mosque. The one death attributed to attack had nothing to do with it. The man had collapsed on the ground before the van veered onto the sidewalk.
And no one talks about how the Muslims beat him senseless after pulling him from the car.

The Finsbury Park terror suspect tried to kill himself six weeks ago by jumping into a river and begged to be sectioned, according to his sister.
Darren Osborne, 47, is accused of ploughing into worshippers in North London in the early hours of Monday morning before jumping out and shouting: ‘I’m going to kill all Muslims – I did my bit’.
Speaking exclusively to MailOnline, his sister Nicola, 50, said Osborne was a deeply troubled individual who apparently tried to steal from his blind 90-year-old great-grandfather.
When he was as young as ten he was reported to police by his own mother who was outraged when she discovered her son had tried to steal his family member’s wallet.
