Kapitalis, “an information portal specializing in Tunisian news,” is reporting that a high school in Sbetila, Tunisia is celebrating Osama bin Laden.

According to Wikipedia – “[Sbeitla] was the entry point of the Muslim conquest of North Africa.”

“Sbeïtla: Bin Laden at the “dakhla” of the Bac Sport,” Kapitalis, April 17, 2017:

The “dakhla” of the Bac Sport at the Sbeïtla high school, governorate of Kasserine, pays tribute to the terrorist leader bin Laden and the … attacks of September 11, 2001, in the United States.

The Ministry of Education, however, assured last week that the subjects of the “dakhla” (a show announcing the start of the sports events of the competition of the baccalaureate) will be validated by the high school administrations. That of the Lycee Sbeïtla seems to have escaped the vigilance of the heads of the regional education commissioner.

The banner of Osama bin Laden, the former leader of the terrorist group al-Qaeda, killed at the age of 54, on 2 May 2011 by an American commando, should not have been exhibited today April 17, 2017, by the students of the Sbeitla high school, next to another representative of the towers of the World Trade Center, with the date 9-11 inscribed in bold on an American flag background …

Who should we blame? Is it the ignorance of the students or their cynicism, or the carelessness of educators and regional leaders?

We need to help them celebrate. Drop a couple MOABs on that place.

Every celebration is better with fireworks, please have the military arrange a display for them.

I remember watching a video posted years ago which a crowd in Tunisia kept chanting, “We are Osama” — even today, many in the Arab and Muslim world regard bin Laden as a hero and martyr.

Their celebration is based on hate, not on real joy.
