Texas State professor/next dean of the College of Liberal Arts tries to get conservatives fired over difference of opinion

This is now rampant across college and university campuses across America. The new fascism, same as the old fascism. The only thing these professors are missing are the jackboots and the cool leather trench-coats.

A Texas State University history professor whose specialty is the Muslim world allegedly called the employers of at least two conservatives, one a current student, to accuse them of “hate speech” in retribution over a political disagreement on Facebook.

Elizabeth Bishop made phone calls to the Texas Public Policy Foundation and a university department in an attempt to punish the two conservatives for daring to disagree with her in a Facebook discussion.

Prof tries to get conservatives fired over FB argument

Amber Athey, Campus Reform, March 31, 2017:

A Texas State University history professor called the employers of at least two conservatives, one a current student, in retribution over a political disagreement on Facebook.

Elizabeth Bishop, who is allegedly rumored to become the next dean of the College of Liberal Arts, made phone calls to employers and a university department in an attempt to punish the two conservatives for daring to disagree with her in a Facebook discussion.

“Thankfully, my employer laughed the ordeal off after seeing that the allegations of hate speech were false.”

[the_ad id=”90673″]

The Facebook status in question was initially posted by Colton Duncan, the student body vice president, but was apparently later removed by Facebook for “violating community standards.”

Duncan decried Texas State’s apparent double standard in allowing radical communist Angela Davis to speak on campus, calling her an “American terrorist,” but not allowing the College Republicans to hold a Women’s Empowerment Summit.

The status soon developed into a debate over the relative merits of capitalism and communism, where Alexander Morrissette, an employee of the Texas Public Policy Foundation, and Bishop began commenting at each other.

“It’s a shame we live in an era when university students can’t tell the difference between Stalin and Hitler,” Bishop wrote. “Like, they fought World War II. As enemies.”

Morrissette responded, “Enemies can have similar goals, interests, and dreams of autocratic control.”

Their debate continued in relatively the same vein, but things escalated when the Texas Public Policy Foundation received a call from Bishop the next day asking if Morrissette was one of its employees.

Bishop contended in the call that Morrissette had made a disparaging Facebook post about her, but refused to provide details on what the post said. The employee who answered the call said she would talk to Morrissette about his Facebook habits, and Bishop hung up the phone shortly thereafter.

Seemingly unsatisfied with the Foundation’s response, as Morrissette said they “laughed the ordeal off,” Bishop set her sights on an anonymous Texas State student who had “liked” several of Morrissette’s comments.

Bishop allegedly called the university department where the student works and requested they investigate her and her “associates” for “hate speech,” and further demanded that the student be removed from her leadership positions on campus.

When Morrissette heard of this development, he said it was “worse…that she levied her threats at students who are still directly subjected to her authority on campus.”

“Thankfully, my employer laughed the ordeal off after seeing that the allegations of hate speech were false,” Morrissette explained. “The employers on college campuses, especially campuses that are so rife with Politically Correct culture, may not be so judicious in their evaluation of these kinds of claims.”

Duncan said he was shocked to hear of Bishop’s calls to employers over his Facebook status and asserted that he would be “deeply disappointed” if the rumors about Bishop becoming dean turn out to be true.

“Someone like that, with little to no regard for the First Amendment, has no business educating the next generation of leaders,” Duncan stated. “The political science department has pumped out a good number of leaders, whether they’re activists, public servants, or leaders in the private sector. I shudder at the thought of this woman wielding any authority over this process.”

Duncan has received his fair share of criticism for the Facebook status, receiving a number of calls and emails that prompted him to hold an “un-official press conference.”

Campus Reform reached out to Texas State University and Bishop for comment but did not receive a response by press time.

Free speech … my oh my, whatever has happened to it? To disagree, to promote whatever your viewpoint is, to point out an error, or to BE wrong … to criticize, complain, on and on it goes, these things we can do because of the First Amendment … or we used to.

The communist anti-American democrats will allow NO dissension in the argument. ONLY the socialist anti-American view point will be tolerated and, just like communist Saul Alinsky teaches them, they attack, disparage, demonize and single out those not of the communist body politic. There is NO discussion, there is NO point/counter point, there is NO intelligent conversation, only conformation and obedience to the communist ideal and support of anyone who hates the United States. Anyone who disagrees is shut down and assaulted by these fascist anti-Americans.

How loathsomely democrat, every time it looks like liberal democrats are at the bottom of the manure heap, they dig themselves deeper. There is no lower limit their hateful ignorant vindictiveness will go, they are worth heirs of islam in America, they are that disgusting.
Elizabeth Bishop is an example of institutionalized hate that liberal democrats and muslims define themselves by.

Not only an example of institutionalised hate, but clearly woefully ignorant as well. I find it both astonishing and horrifying that a history professor is so oblivious to the causes of one of the most cataclysmic events of the mid 20th century, ie the Russo/German conflict. She seems to be completely ignorant (or ignores, which is worse) of the fact that it was bought about by Hitler breaking the non-aggression pact between the two countries and invading Russia. Russia defended their territory, as they always have done, and always will. It was nothing to o with differences in ideology.
The fact (if correct) that this woman is considered to be a future dean of the university is stupefying. It cannot be allowed to happen.

Your analysis is dead on. Hitler was nuts (foregone conclusion, really) to have started a two front war. Thank God that he did.

Movie Hillary’s America pretty much sums up the history and attitude of the Democrat Party. Slavery, KKK, gun control, Jim Crow, “Separate but Equal” Ferguson decision, ad nauseum.

The most despicable thing is that once they sense blood in the water, they’re like the IRS occasionally does — spend thousands to get you for tens. Someone during the Nixon years commented that he was dying of a thousand little paper cuts and didn’t even notice it.

This fascination with Communism is something I simply do not understand. Try running a small commune on Communist principles and get back to me.

american and european academia have hated Christ since the late 1800’s. they have tried to fill the void with atheism, communism, feminism, materialism, and homosexualism, none of which can satisfy them, so now they are on to islam and other forms of devil worship. why anyone would let their kids in these classrooms filled with these hateful souls is beyond me

A couple days ago, a European commenter posted that the Green Party is pushing to legalize Pedophilia. Obviously, these monsters are already indulging in this depravity, or they would be protecting children.

I’m not sure that they are actually indulging in the practice of paedophilia, but they are so simple minded that they think it’s just an alternative lifestyle. Seriously, we have got to put an end to this nonsense or else every aspect of western culture and civilisation will be destroyed.

Great idea! Turn it into a reality show. I don’t watch much tv, but I would really enjoy a great comedy.

It has nothing to do with communal social living. It has to do with POWER and embracing an ideology that grants you the rights or obligations to murder anyone standing in your path to power. See the book:
“Marx Engels Lenin Trotsky: Genocide Quotes.”

The conservative organizations on campus should celebrate Davis’ visit by showing realistic documentaries of Davis’ past life/crimes.

Is this woman a complete moron? Russia fought a war with Germany because Hitler attacked Russia. Prior to that they had signed a non-aggression pact. Whether one was was “National Socialist” and the other was “Communist” is neither here nor there, and not germane to the fact that they went to war with each other.

To all the commenters below. If you are a believer or not. All that is currently happening in the world is somewhere in the Bible. I can’t quote chapter and verse. I sort of see it in my head. The devil is upsetting the world and its society. Staging for the “anti-christ” (there I said it) it may take the next 50 years….way after I lives have ended. But…..it may happen in the next 2 years, 2 months.,2 days. The collapse of all authority then the rise of one authority and (its promises)(what ever they may be) will hypnotize and calm the people and………. new world order, one world government, one world religion (in the bible) one world leader (in the bible) totalitarianism. put to the death by beheading if you don’t follow the rules. total control from technology by following actions and words. See gestapo with simple photo written technology in 1934). It is all there clear as day if you let the scales fall from you eyes. No time, No date, only the promise that he will return to reclaim the earth and end all wars. It will be one hell of a war. It definitely will not be politically correct. It will be brutal, no quarter given and no quarter asked, It will be final. Sort of like killing an ant hill next to your sidewalk. And you are the ant. Just say’in.
