Much needed and long overdue. This is Trump on track, working for working Americans.

“Mulvaney Set To Tell Agencies To Prep For Substantial Cuts,” by Juliegrace Brufke, Daily Caller, April 9, 2017:

Story continues below advertisement

Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney is reportedly slated to send a letter to federal agencies later this week warning them to prep for substantial budget cuts.

The guidance letter falls in line with President Donald Trump’s March 13 executive order aimed at making the government leaner and more efficient, Axios first reported.

The order called on Mulvaney, a staunch fiscal conservative and former member of the House Freedom Caucus, to “propose a plan to reorganize governmental functions and eliminate unnecessary agencies (as defined in section 551(1) of title 5, United States Code), components of agencies, and agency programs.”

Trump’s budget called for historic cuts to a number of agencies — including a 31 percent cut to the Environmental Protection Agency, a 28 percent cut to the State Department and a 17.9 percent cut to the Department of Health and Human Services. While a number of the departments’ budgets would be slashed, the Department of Defense would see a 10 percent boost in spending.

The president’s proposal to decrease State Department funding has received pushback from both sides of the aisle. Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said in February cuts to State would be a disaster, saying if we take the “soft power off the table then you’re never going to win the war.

According to Axios, updates on the state of the budget should be expected throughout the year with a final proposal being rolled out on 2019 budget coming in April.

After 8 years of the government spending like a drunken democrat in a whore house, there will have to be some economies enforced. This is an economic fact, despite democrat economic theory that states you can borrow your way out of debit, guess what? Every cent borrowed, has to be paid back with interest. Fact.

When Obama said we’re going to inflate our way out of this mess, that’s what he did. He printed more money than all the other presidents combined. The price of everything went up. That’s OK for the wealthy but the 3rd world could no longer afford to feed their children. Crime went up all over the planet. Obama caused all this third world chaos and the media gave him a pass. Obama didn’t understand the consequences of any of his decisions. I hate the MSM more than Obama.

This is a great first step, but the reality is the pendulum will swing back and some future dem admin will simply spend like crazy again. Long term we have to get rid departments that are unconstitutional.

President Trump is doing the right things, domestically. Our overblown, overpaid and corrupt federal agencies should have their budgets cut and some should be dismantled completely. READ: “Why America Is So Hard To Fix” http://www.thepostemail.com/2017/04/09/america-hard-to-fix

While the cutbacks and trimming are to be applauded it’s only a stopgap compared to what needs to be done to ensure that these measures remain permanent.
There needs to be a fundamental change in how the budgeting process is structured so that the baked in automatic increases are eliminated. What we really need is Zero Base Budgeting, where every program starts every year at Zero Dollars and every dollar of funding has to be justified every year.

Thank You.
I’ve been an advocate for Zero Base Budgeting since the days when Reagan, as Governor of California, introduced the idea.
Of course the spendthrifts in the legislature, on both sides of the aisle, didn’t accept the plan then, just as it has been ignored in D.C. since the concept was introduced there while Ronald Reagan was POTUS.

This is leaving the weeds in the garden, just giving them less water and sunlight. They still rob the garden of nutrients, just to a lesser degree. All we see Trump doing is removing a few teaspoons of sludge from Washington, creating s false impression that he’s draining the swamp.
If we had more conservative leaders and less RINOS in the federal government, they could end the tyranny and restore freedom. But that would be like asking the school bully to stop taking your lunch money. That would consist of asking liberal Americans to stop voting for RINOS, democrats, jihadis, illegal aliens and leftists. Hasn’t worked yet.

Nice analogy with the weeds.
The miasma emanating from “the swamp” in D.C. floats across the countryside and penetrates ever plain and valley across the nation in the forms of porkbarrel projects and “entitlements”.
Very few people [or businesses] will willingly give up any of that largess, no matter how much it would benefit the community or the nation. As long as the presstitutes in the Ministry of Truth/Mainstream Media won’t talk about this issue in depth it will continue to be below the level of consciousness of the average citizen/sheeple.
The only way to get this into the public consciousness is to make the public aware of it one person at a time from the ground up, It takes every person who believes in a rollback of the job of the Federal Government to Specified Constitutional Levels to discuss the topic whenever and wherever possible in one on one and small group situations. Only when there is a groundswell of public awareness will the politicians start paying close attention and actually embrace any portion of the concept.
