Goodbye Heinrich, Hello Mehmet: Schoolbook angers parents

53

The German names are gone. Now it’s Mehmet’s Way to School, showing only a mosque (Moschee). There are no churches in cities and towns (and no synagogues, G-d forbid). Only mosques. Parents (non-Muslims) are angry. But it won’t do a bit of good.

Mehmet and the mosque: schoolbook angered parents

By Krone, March 31, 2017:

The schoolbook “Lesen mit Sinn” (“reading with meaning”) for Volksschüler provides for violent discussions in Vienna. Only a mosque, but no church, is shown in the lesson. Many parents as well as the FPÖ responded with strong criticism.

How does Mehmet go to school? The children of a Viennese school (and other educational institutions) were confronted with this question. In the book “Lesen mit Sinn” the little ones are allowed to follow the boy’s path. Some parents were quite taken aback: the fact that only one mosque is depicted in the picture (next to the cinema, the playground and the hospital) is not exactly an example of successful integration.

Stadtschulrat: “Ministry responsible for books”

Demand at the Vienna City Council: Would not there have been a church in Mehmet’s world? Answer: “The Ministry of Education is responsible for books; a schoolbook committee is responsible for the works.” There was no explanation from the Ministry of Education despite the request.

Gudenus: “No wonder integration does not work”

Vienna’s vice-mayor, Johann Gudenus from the FPÖ is angry: “Children are clearly suggested with such drawings that mosques cultivate our cityscape, not churches, if one understands something like integration, it is no wonder that it does not work required.”

The Truth Must be Told

Your contribution supports independent journalism

Please take a moment to consider this. Now, more than ever, people are reading Geller Report for news they won't get anywhere else. But advertising revenues have all but disappeared. Google Adsense is the online advertising monopoly and they have banned us. Social media giants like Facebook and Twitter have blocked and shadow-banned our accounts. But we won't put up a paywall. Because never has the free world needed independent journalism more.

Everyone who reads our reporting knows the Geller Report covers the news the media won't. We cannot do our ground-breaking report without your support. We must continue to report on the global jihad and the left's war on freedom. Our readers’ contributions make that possible.

Geller Report's independent, investigative journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe our work is critical in the fight for freedom and because it is your fight, too.

Please contribute to our ground-breaking work here.
