Trump’s Budget Defunds Leftist Bastions NEA, NEH, NPR

These are all propaganda arms for the far-left. They don’t deserve a penny of taxpayer money. Why should American citizens have to pay for globalist, anti-American, socialist propaganda? This budget is urgently needed.

“Trump’s Budget Would Finally Fire Big Bird, Defund NPR,” by Thomas Phippen, Daily Caller, March 16, 2017:

Story continues below advertisement

The new White House budget proposal, a wish list of President Donald Trump’s policies, would cut funding to several arts and grants programs that Republicans have decried for decades.

Trump’s 2018 budget, called “America First: A Budget Blueprint to Make America Great Again,” requests increases in defense spending and reduction of domestic programs.

Specifically, the budget “proposes to eliminate funding for other independent agencies,” including the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which sends some amount of funding to PBS and National Public Radio.

Though Big Bird only re-airs on PBS (“Sesame Street” is now on HBO), eliminating funding to things like the NEA Corporation for Public Broadcasting is not a new idea. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney suggested cutting the CPB during the 2012 presidential campaign, and was quickly criticized. Former President Barack Obama even accused Romney of trying to kill Big Bird in a campaign ad.

Congress has the final say over all discretionary budgets, so Trump faces a tough fight to get rid of agencies like the NEA and the NEH, even though many Republicans don’t believe the federal government needs to fund arts projects, especially those seen as subversive or frivolous.

Former President Ronald Reagan tried to eliminate the NEA in his first year in office, but ultimately failed when a council of his his friends convinced him government funding of the arts was important and beneficial….

When you depend on the media, AKA”fake news” for your information about the world you are likely to be uninformed. Actually there are a lot of boring little museums and art councils and artists in schools programs which are totally not political or subversive, supported by the National Endowment of the Arts. Mostly they are located in small towns across the USA which are largely invisible and therefore considered insignificant and not worthy of press coverage. But these towns and the local art programs are the birthplaces of many fine artists and bastions of creativity and culture. In fact in many ways these local art centers are less perverted and corrupted than the centers of “the art world,” NYC and LA with their wealthy elites who have too much money and too little taste. It would be foolish to undermine the cultural programs of small towns just because of the perception created by media stories about some sensational art shows. That said, Trump is doing the right thing by evaluating and being discriminant about where the money is going.

Let donations FUND it.
They offer HUGE salaries for doing nothing.
Let entrances FEES fund their electricity, insurance and other needs. If they can’t, then SHUT IT DOWN. It shows the PUBLIC isn’t interested.

I LOVE IT. WE SHOULD not BE FUNDING A CROSS IN URINE as “art” or NPR which is more talking points for the LIBERAL media. Sesame Street needs to go to. The NEH is also a waste. The humanities are liberal think tanks and talking points. No needed!

President Trump is keeping his promises as best he can while the RINO’s and DEMS war against him.

You know the old axiom…..a person who is cheating on their spouse always ends up accusing their spouse of the same thing…..whether it’s true or not…..

….me thinks that it is McLame who is cheating with the Russians and other enemies of America…..he seems particularly frekked out lately which says to me that he’s afraid that something is about to come to light that will bring him down…he’s behind something he’s afraid will come out….and/or…he’s being blackmailed about something….. Hopefully, he will retire soon for “health reasons”…..

That’s a possibility. I haven’t thought of him in that way but he does have a very dogmatic approach to looking at things and simply is losing his cool too much lately when cooperation is needed simply to keep the majority for republicans.

It is a good thing to hit socialists where it hurts. As socialism can only function with other people’s money, it will, like islam, starve if left to its own devices. Defund all organizations, universities and even whole states or cities, that are supporting and encouraging the destruction of western civilization.

Before anyone displays their “righteous indignation” at the defunding of these leftist boondoggles, just keep in mind our Army is the smallest it has been since WWI and our Navy is its smallest since Pearl Harbor. Add to that all branches are in the habit of making regular trips to the military aircraft bone yard in AZ in search of spare parts to maintain their aging fleets.

The government has to do more with less. In the past, you needed larger forces because communications systems and logistics were poorer. Now, they’re more advanced. Use the technology to create a leaner, meaner Armed Forces. As for aircraft, that’s a separate issue, but most aircraft have a defined end life and they can only go so long before they end up at Kingman.

I guess Leftees would rather have perverse “art” displays…..like the painting the Capitol building of law enforcement depicted as pigs…..than have an Army to protect them and their children when the invasion comes…..and it will come some day if we don’t stop it now…..

Well, hopefully this won’t go anywhere until we get 45 impeached. If it does, I expect we’ll be able to restore public media and arts after the next sane election. Won’t be hard. Killing Big Bird isn’t going to be a popular move. ?
