Angry college students protest publisher of Muhammad cartoons

91

[the_ad id=”87125″]

Ten years ago, the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten “inflamed the Muslim world” (as if that were hard to do) by publishing some innocuous Muhammad cartoons. The cartoons were published in September 2005 without incident. An Egyptian newspaper picked them up and ran them in October. But it wasn’t until the Organization of Islamic Cooperation met in December of that year that the cartoon jihad was launched. It was thus decided that the Danish cartoons (to whom no one had paid any attention until that moment) was where the Muslim world would throw down the sword in order to force the West to adhere to the blasphemy laws under the sharia (Islamic law). And they chose to do it by brute force and violence.

All that was bad enough. But the idea of American college students aiding them in this imposition of sharia blasphemy laws is unconscionable. Does no one at Franklin & Marshall College have any understanding of the freedom of speech?

Story continues below advertisement

“Angry Students Protest Publisher Of Mohammad Cartoons,” by David Krayden, Daily Caller, March 13, 2017:

The Danish journalist who ignited violent Muslim protest when he published cartoons of Islamic prophet Mohammad over a decade ago, still ignites a crowd when he speaks.

The College Fix reports that free speech advocate Flemming Rose was at Franklin & Marshall College this month to talk about his new book, “Tyranny of Silence: How One Cartoon Ignited a Global Debate on the Future of Free Speech” and had to face down some angry students.

Rose was demonized by Muslims in 2005 when, as the cultural editor of the Danish newspaper Jyllands-Posten, he published cartoon depictions of Mohammad. That decision resulted in global riots by Muslims who took their anger onto the streets over what they considered Rose’s blasphemy for reproducing their prophet’s image.

Several dozen protesters appeared on cue when Rose arrived at the Lancaster, Pennsylvania college on March 2 to talk to students not only didn’t want to hear the lecture, they didn’t think Rose should speak at all.

The Judaic studies professor who invited Rose wrote about being harassed by students who said they were “feeling threatened and unsafe” by the visit and accused him of inviting a journalist who imparts “ever-increasing feelings of vulnerability, marginalization, and fear for our safety.”

Matthew Hoffman wrote a long letter of explanation to Franklin & Marshall’s newspaper, The College Reporter.

Rose told The College Fix that he faced a very angry crowd at his lecture.

“There was a loud protest outside the auditorium before my talk, around 30 people,” Rose recounted. “They held posters and one of them showed Kurt Westergaard’s cartoon of the prophet with a bomb in his turban on her smartphone, which to me seems a little bizarre. Why show the cartoon if you find it so offensive?”

Other signs demanded, “Do not use my prophet as a tool to gain fame,” and others told Rose to “check his privilege at the door.”

Rose described the question and answer session that followed the speech as “tense” but said the protesters did not get out of hand.

Even before Rose’s arrival, Hoffman was warned by faculty colleague that it was a “bad idea” to invite Rose to the college….

The completely absurd international Muslim uprising over cartoons in 2006 continue to reverberate to this day. Like similar incidents such as the Miss World riots of 2002, the theft of Muhammad’s hair in 1964, or the eruption of Krakatoa in 1883, Muslims are poised to riot, and kill over anything, or nothing, at all. It could be the weather, a rumor, a hair, or a cartoon; it is all pretext for killing the unbelievers.

The pattern is depressingly consistent. An incident which is at first ignored by Muslims, is declared by an Islamic authority to be a cause for violence. The ensuing rioting continues until 200-300 people are killed, and thousands are rendered homeless. It is always the same, 200-300 people killed, and thousands are made homeless.

Until the world accepts that unregulated, unrestrained Islam is a prescription for murder, more people will continue to be killed for anything, or nothing, at all.

Its useful idiots on the Left/liberals and their “moderate” jihadi instigators who are behind this. Arrest them for suppressing free speech with $1000 fine. Repeat offenders be fined upto $5000. watch as this Bullsh*it dies down.

If you don’t take action , then this will continue.

Media , Obama, Hillary , most Dems , RINO’s have been working against American interests for a long time .

And are nothing more than paid puppets of lobbyists for saudi/OIC and Iran too http://tinyurl.com/njzxzed

Left/Liberals are just sick collaborator with jihadis.

c’mon, Pam, give credit where credit is due. It is easy to inflame the Muslim world, but it is NOT easy to live with a sword over your head (as you know). You should support more the European newspaper editors that published the cartoon. Only you in the US had the courage to do it.

Western european voters have made their choice, the elect and re-elect socialist governments that have created this multicultural slaughterhouse called western europe. No one can change europe except europeans, so, they anoint an unelected european union government to take control of the decisions and actions of the elected governments. western europe is a write off, It will have to rot in its own filth until it disappears or does something for itself. As two world wars have indicated, there is no value in spending the blood and treasure of the free world on senseless western european ingrates.

Those who are perplexed by the free speech penalization when it comes to islam, need to realize just this –
– Freedom of speech is protected by law. But religion is also protected by law.
Thanks to religious freedom, the same constitution that guarantees freedom of speech, also guarantees immunity to religion, including islam.
And unlike freedom of speech, millions (muslims) are prepared to die for their religion. Would you be willing to die and kill because your freedom of speech was violated? No. But millions of muslims are willing to die and kill if their islam is violated.
So which protection do you think will prevail if both these freedoms are in conflict? The one whose upholders are, at best, willing to write strongly worded letters, or the one whose upholders are willing to murder for it? I trust we all know the answer.

I am (and many other Americans are) perfectly willing to let Islamists die for our freedom of speech, if their wish is to murder and die for their cause. Any fanatics willing to kill and die over a cartoon are clearly insane and need to be put out of their misery.

Armed civilized Americans will not kill anyone over their right to freedom of speech, but if we are attacked with intent to kill by Islamists because of something we said, wrote or drew, we will be happy to send them to meet Allah. The first and second amendments to our Constitution tend to work together. I think Ms. Geller proved that quite effectively.

On GW both sides take extreme views, both are wrong.

Fact : Ice in the arctics is thinner , so is snow in himalayan glaciers.

Ocean temperature are rising, higher acidification resulting in coral bleachings.

High temperature results in more evaporation during summer and results in more rains around the year and more snow in winter.

GW does not mean there will be no snow/No winter ! During winter sun is at its furthest and hence cooling will take place resulting in water vapours falling down as snow.

I think they maybe met a few Muslims that “seemed ” outwardly normal so they assume that they are all misunderstood and just being picked on. Nobody bothers to look at the full scope of what Muslims are really about.
The other issue I believe is that those of college age just need to be in angst over something .
It’s seems there is a whole generation of weak minded people who believe everything is unjust and unfair and cry about everything and anything.

An oldie but goodie for you:

Three strangers strike up a conversation in the airport passenger lounge in Texarkana, awaiting their flights.

One is an American Indian passing through from Arkansas.
Another is a Cowboy on his way to Dallas for a livestock show and the
third passenger is a fundamentalist Arab student, newly arrived from the Middle East.

Their discussion drifts to their diverse cultures. Soon, the two
Westerners learn that the Arab is a devout, radical Muslim and the
conversation falls into an uneasy lull.

The cowboy leans back in his chair, crosses his boots on a
magazine table and tips his big sweat-stained hat forward over his face.
The wind outside is blowing tumbleweeds around, and the old windsock is
flapping; but still no plane comes.

Finally, the American Indian clears his throat and softly he
speaks, “At one time, my people were many, but sadly, now we are
few.”

The Muslim student raises an eyebrow and leans forward, “Once my
people were few,” he sneers, “and now we are many. Why do you suppose
that is?”

The Montana cowboy shifts his toothpick to one side of his mouth and from the darkness beneath his Stetson says in a drawl,

“That’s ’cause we ain’t played Cowboys and Muslims yet.”

Poll: 500,000 American Muslims Want People Who Criticize Islam Put To Death
And while the majority of Muslims reject the most draconian tenets of Islam, it might not be as big a majority as you think. Back in 2012, the Wentzel Strategies group conducted a poll asking American Muslims about their faith and the law. More than half – 58 percent – believed that criticism of “Islam or Muhammad” is not permitted under the First Amendment. 45 percent believed people who criticize the religion should “face criminal charges.”But that’s not the shocker. The poll also revealed that 11.5 percent of American Muslims – of which there are more than 5 million – either strongly agreed or somewhat agreed that “Americans who criticize or parody Islam should be put to death.” The margin of error is 3.98 percentage points. For those doing the math, that’s more than a half-million American Muslims who want death for anybody criticizing Islam.” http://www.jewsnews.co.il/2015/05/07/poll-500000-american-muslims-want-people-who-criticize-islam-put-to-death/

A murderer, pedophile, wishing not to be on a most-wanted poster
Just another Cult Leader
Requiring disciples to bow down to him 5 times a day

Truth is really stranger and more dangerous than fiction
