“Ontario Province Says Criticism Of Muslim Prayer In Public Schools ‘Racist,’” by David Krayden, Daily Caller, March 25, 2017:
The Ontario provincial government sanctioned special religious status for Muslim students in the public school system after the Canadian House of Commons voted in favor of an “Islamophobia” motion Thursday that critics say could have long-term consequences on freedom of speech.
The Peel District School Board, responsible for a large swath of schools in the suburbs of Toronto, allows Muslim students to hold regular Friday prayer session on school time and on school property. Parents have objected to this practice because they say Christians and Jews are not allowed to hold religious meetings.
“I have met with the leadership of Peel and have obviously been very concerned about what I’ve seen and heard,” said Education Minister Mitzie Hunter in a joint statement with Children and Youth Services Minister Michael Coteau, who back the school board. Later, she told reporters in Toronto, “It felt important to Minister Coteau and I to really reinforce our expectations … there’s just no tolerance for discrimination of any sort. We don’t tolerate issues of racism and Islamophobia.”…
The two Ontario ministers dismissed the concerns of parents and refused to address the question of why one religion is being taught in public schools, saying such a practice was in full compliance with the human rights code and religious accommodation guidelines.They suggested opposition to the weekly prayers was based in prejudice.
“While it is our expectation that all public school boards comply with the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and the Ontario Human Rights Code, we know that hate continues to spread, even in the most diverse regions of our province.”
At the Peel board’s Wednesday night meeting, a group of almost 100 protesters refused to be ignored, prompting the board’s chairwoman, Janet McDougald, to speak: “To say it’s disrespectful is a great understatement. It’s hateful — the social media has just been abysmal, it’s just been awful, and some of our students are feeling a little unsafe because of it.”
McDougald has previously angrily told parents to leave the board meeting and called at least one a “racist.” The mayor of Brampton has also joined the Islamophobia chorus, claiming the parents are purveyors of “misinformation and hateful speech.”

Let’s have open debates about the mythology-ideology (“religion”) of Islam in terms of the founder’s background; about the Quran’s anti-science facts; about its advocacy of violence and abuse of human rights; about the logical fallacies of zealously acting on behalf of a “belief”, where there is no evidence for Allah to begin with. Let’s have these debates out in the marketplace of ideas and see who wins. Or, am I a racist of “Islamophobe” for even suggesting this?

I’m Jewish but I agree with you for the most part. My concern is, the government here in USA has virtually outlawed religion in schools where Christians are concerned and made a habit of harassing Jewish schools but are willing to cater to Islam for some reason.

While I know that it is satisfying to name call and lay blame, in this case, it is misplaced. This has nothing to do with parties and everything to do with those who control them in the bigger scheme of things. This is not a “liberal” thing, and BOTH parties have been a part of the deconstruction of the West. They are owned. Their owners have admitted it. Now, it is time to believe them. What is happening is not by accident or out of ignorance. Our governments, almost ALL involved, are complicit. There is a much larger agenda. When people actually wake up and understand this, as opposed to the divisive B.S. propaganda they are being fed, then, we can begin to solve the problem. I just hope it will not be too late.

Jay, I have two small grandchildren in my custody who attend a Peel District School Board school. After my fairly lengthy conflicts with this school board’s director of education, let me assure you that its leadership doesn’t just border on stupid and arrogance, it’s got it down to a fine art. The arrogant chair, Janet McDougall is just a prize ass, not least for accusing parents of being ‘racist’ over their objection to this school board favouring Muslims – who, she doesn’t get it, are not a ‘race’. The ‘racist’ accusation is now just cheap fallback for stigmatizing legitimate protest against unfair practices. And just note the dimwitted support of Ontario Education Minister, Mitzie Hunter, and Children and Youth Services Minister, Michael Coteau, for this school board’s unjust actions. No wonder their services are so disgustingly poor!

Truly, what you must understand is that what our governments are doing is not by accident or out of ignorance. They are complicit. There is a much larger agenda. When people actually wake up and understand this, then, we can begin to solve the problem. I just hope it will not be too late. Sadly, I think it is already too late for Europe. Ontario is anti Canadian, anti Christian, pro atheist and muslim. The bigotry and racism are the direct result of a population that has become reliant on socialism and progressive liberal multiculturalism. The inability of the government to discuss anything other than islam is a clear sign that they have sold out to muslim interests and will push for the total isalmificaton of Ontario society. As Ontario has the largest concentration of hopeless imbeciles in all of Canada, it will serve them well. They are broke, going broker and proudly announce that they will borrow more money to subsidize islam, destroying everything else and destroy the reprehensible culture that they have evolved into. Even the indians who conventionally get huge amounts of money from the government will soon find that muslims get more.

Perhaps Putin would supply Western Canada with ammo. He has visited Banff and the Rocky Mountains before and loved it. Or perhaps Greenland. Western Canada does have a small population compared to eastern Canada. Perhaps we could hire Mexicans to help Western Canada. We could even hire Germans to come over and help us. They are trainable. So poorly run is it by the dimwit and bigot, Kathleen Wynne, its debt is greater than all other Canadian provinces combined and greater than that of looney left California. Her primary resort is to tax everyone into debt. The good side is that Wynne’s popularity rating is now 12 or 13 percent, but the bad news is that the Conservative Party is run by an unprincipled ass, Patrick Brown, and the noun, ‘leadership’, is an unknown quantity round here.

Muslims are not a “race.” Islam is not even a true religion. Religion has no place in public schools, and none of them should have special treatment, no matter how entitled they think they are, or how much our PC societies fear being called “Islamophobes.” In these ways, by enforcing our laws, we can illustrate how we will not accept anything less than true assimilation and adherence to our laws and NOT those of sharia.
