NYT’s Nicholas Kristof Could Be Guilty of Criminal Solicitation of a Felony for Asking IRS Employees to Send Him Trump’s Tax Return

If Kristof were a conservative, he would be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. As it is, nothing will happen, but this once again illustrates how hysterical and unhinged the left has become in its quest to destroy President Trump. No illegality is out of bounds for them.

“Was NYT Reporter’s Tweet For Trump’s Tax Returns Illegal, Or Only ‘Unethical?,’” by Kathryn Watson, Daily Caller, March 7, 2017:

It’s possible New York Times reporter Nicholas Kristof crossed the free speech line into criminal solicitation of a felony Monday when he tweeted where IRS employees could send him President Donald Trump’s tax returns, legal experts say.

At least, it’s up for debate.

An IRS employee’s disclosure of tax returns to an unauthorized person is a felony, and federal law prohibits anyone from soliciting a crime. The First Amendment “wouldn’t immunize” that, wrote UCLA law professor and Washington Post columnist Eugene Volokh Monday….

Are you serious?
Nothing will be done, the guy’s working to destroy the Republic!
He’s a hero to the Progressive mind b/c he thought of tweeting it and had the “courage” to do it!

I knew President Trump was going to have a rough time, but it’s becoming worsebthat I thought, (and I’m considered a “gloomy gus” sort of fellow…)!

Mr. Grumpy lol…
One could always hope. If it were up to me I would figure out a way to be sure he was charged.
I would think this was a felony? I don’t have a clear idea as to what business or income tax laws are.

Yes, p.trump it would seem can not make a single decision without half the country going into hysterics and acting as if he is doing something sinister. It ‘s pretty crazy. These people need to calm down and let him do his job.

If he has committed a crime, then charge him in court, quit fooling around, you are encouraging democrats to abuse the system, as like muslims, they know it has no teeth.

And nothing should happen. There is no crime here. If an IRS employee is stupid enough to send Kristof Trump’s tax returns, the crime is wholly on the part of the IRS employee and not on Kristof. Way back when (1971) the New York Times partially published a classified document entitled “The Pentagon Papers” on the front page. The documents were given to them (and several other newspapers) by Daniel Ellsberg, who along with Russo photocopied the documents and disseminated them to the press.

Renquist, who was then the Attorney General of the US, sought an injunction against the NY Times. But the US Supreme Court, in a 6-3 decision, allowed The Times to keep publishing. Ellsberg and Russo were eventually indicted on stealing and holding classified documents. But, when it was revealed that Nixon’s “White House Plumbers,” burglarized Ellsberg’s psychiatrist’s office to obtain Ellsberg’s psychiatric/medical records to use against him, the federal judge declared a mistrial and dismissed all charges against Ellsberg and Russo.

A general request of Trump’s tax returns is not the type of solicitation that can get a newspaper in trouble for soliciting or conspiracy to commit a crime.

Just because the idiot justices of the Supreme did nothing at the time does not mean that the Times and other liberal rags did not commit a crime. They for the most part can not read and understand plain English and have no real concern for what the Constitution actually says.

I’m still waiting for the Secret Service to prefer charges against mouthy Madonna for that crack she made about “blowing up the White House”. After the JFK assassination threatening the life of the President, even indirectly, became an extremely touchy subject. However, this seriousness was diluted by the phony and self-serving claim that the threat level against Obhammud was through the roof because he was black, an absolute racist fabrication.
