(CNN)A federal judge in Hawaii has agreed to hear the first legal challenge to President Donald Trump’s new travel ban on March 15 — just hours before it is slated to go into effect.
Attorneys for the state filed a new 40-page request just before midnight on Tuesday, asking a federal judge to issue a temporary restraining order blocking implementation of the new executive order.
Trump signed a new executive order Monday banning foreign nationals from six Muslim-majority countries from entering the US for 90 days and banning all refugees for 120 days.
In a statement, Hawaii attorney general Douglas Chin said the filings ask the court to declare sections 2 and 6 of Trump’s executive order contrary to the constitution and federal law.
“Sections 2 and 6 of the March 6, 2017 Executive Order violate the Immigration and Nationality Act by discriminating on the basis of nationality, ignoring and modifying the statutory criteria for determining terrorism-related inadmissibility, and exceeding the President’s authority under the Immigration and Nationality Act,” Chin said in a statement.“The new executive order is resulting in the establishment of religion in the state of Hawaii contrary to its state constitution; it is inflicting immediate damage to Hawaii’s economy, educational institutions, and tourism industry; and it is subjecting a portion of the state’s citizens to second-class treatment and discrimination, while denying all Hawaii residents the benefits of an inclusive and pluralistic society,” attorneys for the state argued in court filings.
“The executive order means that thousands of individuals across the United States and in Hawaii who have immediate family members living in the affected countries will now be unable to receive visits from those persons or to be reunited with them in the United States.”
The Justice Department declined to comment on the filing, but will have an opportunity to respond to the state’s amended complaint against the travel ban on March 13….

Does this judge in Hawaii understand what has happened in Europe and the impact it has had on people’s spirit, safety, resources, TOURISM, safety? Might want to consider that. Hope he reads and informs himself.
All is well in his state that he needs to focus his energies opposing our President? How are kids doing in school? Infrastructure okay? Got jobs?

No, what will probably happen is that both religions will be severely weakened and forced to abandon fundamentalism in order to survive in an increasingly secular world. What on earth do you think will happen once robots and AI is fully unleashed upon us all, competition for entry level jobs and scarce resources has increased exponentially and the migrant trek northwards from sub-Saharan Africa continues with its incessant demand for western welfare and aid. The current unrest in Eurabia is only a fraction of what is to come and the rest of the world will unwittingly be dragged into the conflict.

Hey Hawaii, you want to block the new immigration order. Ok. But……some strings attached. You are no longer the 50th state and your new “country” will be added to the countries already on the list of Trump’s travel ban, ok. Cheers, Hawaii, we don’t need you, there’s plenty of other good islands around U.S. citizens can go to. Oh and one other thing. When your new “country” falls into economic collapse, don’t ask the U.S. for any help. We’ve got better things to do.

Feds can’t remove a state AG or state judge. They can be charged with crimes but feds have no jurisdiction to remove state officials from office.

THIS makes no sense. Nobody there cares about Moslems. They are already flooded with dumb Micronesians who know nothing but cooking in lousy restaurants or being dishwashers or out ucking another Micronesian.
The Police Chief there was on trial for something and being investigated by the FBI. And he is the only one allowed to determine (against the Constitution) who can conceal carry. So far, it is said, nobody is allowed.

California, Texas and New York resettled nearly a quarter of all refugees in fiscal 2016, together taking 20,738 refugees. Other states that received at least 3,000 refugees included Michigan, Ohio, Arizona, North Carolina, Washington, Pennsylvania and Illinois. By contrast, Arkansas, the District of Columbia and Wyoming each resettled fewer than 10 refugees. Delaware and Hawaii took in no refugees.
Interesting, why are some states except from taking in muslims, while others are forced to not only take them in, but accommodate islamic hatred and bigotry?
