Clarion Project calls Qur’anic teaching “radical Islam”

Reading through Clarion Project’s twitter timeline, one must protect oneself from whiplash. It’s like reading through the time line of a bi-polar multiple personality schzioid. Good Islam! Bad Islam! Good Islam! Bad Islam!

The dirty little secret that those who prate about “radical Islam,” as if there were some harmless non-radical Islam, don’t tell you is that “radical Islam” is actually mainstream, Qur’anic Islam. Robert Spencer explains why here.

Story continues below advertisement

“Clarion Project calls Qur’anic teaching ‘radical Islam,’” by Robert Spencer, Jihad Watch, March 29, 2017:

How incoherent is today’s dominant discourse about the jihad threat? Here is an illustration.

I reported here about the controversy at Rollins College, where Professor Areej Zufari taught “that the crucifixion of Jesus was a hoax and that his disciples did not believe he was God.”

That’s all that we get about what Professor Zufari said in the Central Florida Post story that both the Clarion Project (below) and I referenced. Both assertions are straight from the Qur’an. It says that Jesus was not crucified: “And their saying, ‘Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah.’ And they did not kill him, nor did they crucify him; but it appeared so to them. And indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except the following of assumption. And they did not kill him, for certain.” (Qur’an 4:157)

It also has Jesus denying before Allah that he told people that he was God, thus indicating that his disciples, who were faithful Muslims (Qur’an 3:52, 5:111) would not have believed that he was God: “And when Allah will say, ‘O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, “Take me and my mother as deities besides Allah ?”‘ He will say, ‘Exalted are you! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, you would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within yourself. Indeed, it is you who are knower of the unseen.'” (Qur’an 5:116)

So Areej Zufari was simply restating Qur’anic belief about Jesus. For challenging her, student Marshall Polston was suspended and a police report was filed. As far as the Clarion Project, is concerned, Polston was suspended for challenging “radical Islam.” Clarion has to put it this way because it is an exponent of the mainstream conservative/Republican establishment (George W. Bush, etc.) view that Islam itself is wholly and entirely benign, and every problematic action by Muslims, from jihad terror to Sharia oppression, must be described as a manifestation of “radical Islam” (which is at least a trifle more realistic than the Left’s “violent extremism”).

However, the Islam/radical Islam distinction all too easily entangles in absurdity those who wish to exonerate Islam of all responsibility for the crimes done in its name and in accord with its teachings, and this is an example. From the Central Florida Post report that Clarion picks up on, all Areej Zufari did was repeat Qur’anic teaching. According to Clarion’s official line, doing this ought to be an entirely benign, and indeed beneficial exercise. But in this case it sparked a controversy, and so Zufari’s Qur’an-invoking becomes “radical Islam.” Is the Qur’an, then, radical Islam? Of course Clarion officials would say no, it isn’t, it’s the beautiful holy book of the peaceful religion that has unfortunately been hijacked by radical extremists. But if that is so, then how is what Zufari said “radical”?

These issues cry out for clarification, and I would be happy to engage any Clarion Project official in public discussion or debate of them. Too often, however, they are covered over by name-calling (I’ve been called a “jihadist” for pointing out how jihadis use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify violence and make recruits among peaceful Muslims) and sloganeering and left at that. The victims of jihad terror deserve better.

“Suspended for Challenging Radical Islam,” by Meira Svirsky, Clarion Project, March 28, 2017:

A Christian student was suspended from his Florida university after he challenged the views of his Muslim humanities professor and those of a radical Muslim student, wrote investigative reporter Jacob Engels in the Central Florida Post.

The professor, Areeje [sic] Zufari, of Rollins College located just outside Orlando, has a history of accusations of radicalism enumerated in a law suit filed by an FBI source and from her role as a leader in the Islamic Society of Central Florida.

Twenty-year-old sophomore Marshall Polston’s troubles began when Zufari began making disparaging statements about Christianity, claiming the religion’s most basic beliefs were a hoax.

Zufari asserted that Jesus was not crucified and his followers did not believe he was God.

“It was very off-putting and flat out odd. I’ve traveled the Middle East, lectured at the Salahaddin University, and immersed myself in Muslim culture for many years. Honestly, it reminded me of some of the more radical groups I researched when abroad,” Polston said.

“Whether religious or not, I believe even those with limited knowledge of Christianity can agree that according to the text, Jesus was crucified and his followers did believe he was divine,” he added.

After Polton challenged Jufari during a class discussion on these assertions, Jufari failed him on a major essay and refused to explain the reason…

The first exponent of “radical Islam” was Mohammed. He created it (by his claim to be the “last messenger”) all his sayings and deeds becoming embedded in traditions of Islam. There is no “radical Islam” as there was no “radical Mohammed” (in contradistinction to “real” Mohammed). Islam is Islam, Mohammed is Mohammed. Period.

Problem with Islam is, psychiatrists have examined Islam’s teachings and state that Muhammad had to be insane. Why? Because no sane person can retreat to a cave, and communicate with a Christian angel and receive revelations from the same person for 20 years. Moreover, Muhammad was totally illiterate, no passages were ever written down, or recorded, all were passed onto word of mouth to his companions. The Qur’an was compiled 200 years after Muhammad’s death, from passages that were passed from generation to generation, by word of mouth. What could possibly be true or right???

Partially true. Only one objection: M. is said to be “illiterate” (that is he did not write Koran himself, it was assembled much later) but during the first part of his life before he become “prophet” he was quite skillful businessman (in caravan trade). It is simply inconceivable that he, being illiterate, would be able to carry on his business, meaning in all details, income, expenses, etc., without good knowledge of written words.

I doubt that would happen (at least not in the foreseeable future). Too much fear. Too much money.
However, I do hope the HolyLand Foundation trial is re-opened, then a dialogue could begin. People’s eyes will be opened! Also, we all need to push for the bill to label the muslim bro. a terror org (and its tentacles like ca ir)- then maybe a hearing could be held.

I read that they put the bill to label the Muslim Brotherhood a terrorist organization on hold. They are getting pressure from certain Muslim countries not to do so. I hope that President Trump and congress do the right thing and don’t cave to Muslim pressure.

Our weaknesses are their strengths.
In our Western Societies, our desire to help unfortunate, miss-treated, helpless, victims of their own stupidity compels us to help in many various ways, inc. money donations, foreign aid and yes , volunteer aid workers.
We need to approach and treat Islam like ebola or any other very infectious disease, that is isolate the source of infection and work out a solution to stop this disease infecting more.

We need to rid ourselves of our desires to help those that do not deserve our help. Our help should only be extended to those that deserve our help and our compassion. Let history be thy teacher.

Labeling a belief “religion” should not be relevant. No religion is exempt from laws; murder, rape mutilation, sedition, discrimination based on race, creed or sex. Islam is guilty of all of the above as established in countless acts, writings, and Islamic jurisprudence.

My view is that Trump is trying to halt immigration from these nations until he can format a court and justice department to prosecute on the above basis, a very winnable legal argument with a rational DOJ.

The deceitful muslims have been cheating us all along with the misleading translation of one vital word in quran.

In quran, there are verses that are translated as – Fight the non-believers, fight those who believe not in allah, fight in the path of allah et al.
The original arabic word in these verses is – Qatal. And Qatal means murder/ kill, and not fight.

So the correct translation of these verses is – Murder/slaughter/kill the non-believers, and not ‘fight’ the non-believers. Qatal is derived from the root q-t-l which means kill/murder/slaughter. From this root several other arabic words such as – Qatil, qatala, maqtal are formed. For non-muslims, the term ‘fight’ denotes an argument, or a struggle with no one necessarily getting killed. And this is why muslims translate it as ‘fight’ to give a misleading and deceptive impression, so as to hide the true nature of quranic verses.

This not only fundamentally changes the essence of the quranic concept, it also throws the self-defense argument out of the window. People fight in self-defense. People do not murder and slaughter in self-defense and that too, the non-believers. So muslims have turned reality on its head, and managed to deceive non-muslims into thinking that unprovoked, wanton murder and slaughter that is mandated in islam, is harmless and justifiable self-defense.

For explanation of this word, please read this page in its entirety –

It is interesting to note that the islamists borrow heavily from the Bible while calling for death to those who believe it is the word of God. The psychiatrists have name for such, schizophrenia.

moderate, fundamentalist, real, radical, how it is written, how it is interpreted, etc. whatever.

Westerners are curious, and all this labelling – promoted by Muslims – does nothing else than to confuse us. It’s a Muslim tactic. While we are engaging with this nonsense, another 1000 Muslims have entered our countries, another mosque has been built, another suicide vest constructed.

Similarly, has Clarion commented on the Surah 19 verse sung in Glasgow Cathedral in January, under the auspices of the Anglican Church ? It denies the divinity of Jesus–son of God, foundation of Christianity. Even Michael Nazir- Ali, a retired Bishop, whose father converted from Shia, and himself was baptised at 20,was appalled at the invitation but never intimated it was other than an accepted part of the Quran.

Look at the faces of the men in this picture! What do you see in the way of intelligence? Of the 28 Muslim nations that are 90% Muslim or greater, their average IQ is 80.5. For reference the IQ that is considered to be clinically retarded is 70. So we see a group of religious fanatics of very low intelligence, not capable of telling the difference between good and evil. They are all pathetic followers and cannon fodder for the glory of Islam. You cannot rationally deal with such people. The only long-term solution is to either kill them off or confine them within their countries. Turning them loose in civilized nations is a sure recipe for disaster, which we are seeing in Europe.

Radical Islam is just another word for Islam. Moderate Islam, Radical Islam, Qur’anic Islam are all the same. And the objective of any kind of Islam is to control the world of non believers by dhimmitude. Dhimmitude can only be understood in the context of jihad,
because it originates from this ideology. Infidels who submit without
fighting to the Islamic armies, are granted a pledge of security. They
are protected from the jihad laws against infidels which command
killing, slavery, ransom or deportation for the enemies. Peace and
security for non-Muslims are recognised only after their submission.
Protection status is provided through the Islamization of conquered
lands. Wake up World.
