Once upon a time, “America’s Polygamy Ban Blocked Muslim Immigration.”
Apparently that obstacle has been removed.
Polygamy marriage websites have just crossed the 100,000 members mark. The owner is most proud. He wrote me most excitedly about breaking 100k. “My Polygamy marriage websites have just crossed the 100k members mark. This would make for a great story for any media type. The following article https://www.polygamy.com/press/articles/124578 is ready for publication or modification as you see fit. In the past 60 days, I have been featured on multiple International TV shows, radio shows and almost every prominent Newspaper [sic].”
I asked Mr. Awad for a breakdown by country.
On polygamy.com, the breakdown is as follow:
1. United States
2. United Kingdom
These make about 80% of all members.
And SecondWife.com which is Muslim only, the breakdown is as follows:
1. United Kingdom
4. United States
5. Saudi Arabia
+ many other countries
These make up about 40% of all members.
One unforeseen consequence of the controversial burkini ban has been a renewed interest in polygamous relationships, with the founder of www.SecondWife.com saying that traffic to his marriage site has increased significantly since the ban came into force. Azad Chaiwala – whose websites www.SecondWife.com and www.Polygamy.com have more than 100,000 users worldwide – says that Frances recent burkini ban has led more women to sign up for his company’s services.
With renewed scrutiny of their appearance and how they dress in public, Mr Chaiwala believes many Muslim women are turning to his sites in the hope of finding partners who value them for more than their appearance.
“It’s sad to say but I love the stupid illogical ban, they are finally being honest about their discrimination against women.” says Chaiwala.
“It used to be the case that people worried about women showing too much flesh in public,” Mr Chaiwala said. “Now it seems people are concerned when women aren’t showing enough! If a woman chooses to wear a burkini (which is nothing more than a feminised/modest wetsuit), it’s not for anyone else to deny her that choice. Women are worth far more than the clothes they wear and how they look, and that’s why so many women want to use our services. They are finally coming to the realization that their so called liberal freedom is man’s desire to sexualise/keep them naked in disguise. They deserve happy, loving marriages to men who value them for more than their appearance, men who want to uphold the institution o
f marriage and give their wives the respect & value they deserve.”
Azad addresses women directly “Wake up, stand by your sisters in face of the male dominated oppression that only values you when you take your clothes off & conform to their twisted desires… and then have the cheek to call it liberation… you are worth far more than that… stand by those that are truly liberated… those who choose to wear what they like. Peace to all”.
The decision by a number of French local authorities to ban the ‘burkini’ from public beaches has raised concerns in some quarters, with many Muslims in France and across the wider world believing the hard line being taken by the police is purely discriminatory. In the wake of the European terror attacks claimed by the so-called Islamic State group, many members of France’s large Islamic population have expressed fears that they are being singled out and unfairly targeted in retaliation.
Disturbing photographs have emerged which appear to show armed French police enforcing the “burkini ban” at a beach in Nice. In one image, three officers can be seen towering over& ordering a burkini-clad woman to remove some of her clothing, while one appears to take notes and issue her with a fine. In a separate incident at nearby Cannes, a mother of two was issued with a fine for wearing leggings, a tunic and headscarf on the beach.
For many Muslim women who choose to wear the burkini, headscarf or full veil, their clothing has made them a very visible target in recent months, with worrying statistics showing a rise in hate crime and many fearing the burkini ban is simply a way of scapegoating the Muslim population as fears of terrorism rise.
