Islamic Groups Push ‘World Hijab Day’ To Undermine Western Opposition

112

A World Hijab Day? Why not a day for the girls who didn’t want to cover up and were honor killed for it? Why not a day for Muslim girls who were killed by their fathers and/or brothers for refusing to wear the hijab?

For the millions of women and girls forced to wear the cover-up, such a tribute is ghastly.

How about an Amina and Sarah Said day in Texas (where they lived)? Honor murdered; shot to death by their devout Muslim father for refusing his arranged marriage and going out with non-Muslim boys.
An Aqsa Parvez day? Honor murdered; Strangled to death by her father and brother because she didn’t want to wear the hijab.
A Jessica Mokdad day? Murdered execution style for “dishonor” in Michigan.
A Noor Almaleki day? Run over multiple times by her father for “being too American.”
An Aasiya Z. Hassan day? Beheaded by her “moderate” husband in Buffalo, NY.

Story continues below advertisement

The Shafia girls day (Zainab, 19, Sahar, 17, and Geeti, 13, and Rona Amir Mohammad): murdered by their father who said, “I would do it again 100 times.” “May the devil sh*t on their graves.”

Where is their day?

“Islamic Groups Push ‘World Hijab Day’ To Undermine Western Opposition,” by Dr. Susan Berr, Breitbart, February 2, 2016:

Some non-Muslim women in the United States and other countries voluntarily donned the “hijab” on Monday to show “solidarity” with Muslim women.

World Hijab Day is part of a major effort supported by radical Muslim Student Association (MSA) to foster empathy toward Muslims and Islam in America.

“People see a veil, the hijab, but people don’t understand why we wear it,” said Doha Medani, a sophomore at North Carolina State University (NCSU), reports The Technician, the school’s newspaper. “My hijab is how I represent myself to the world: as a Muslim, first and foremost,” Medani said.

“The first thing people see … is my hijab. It makes it clear to the world, or whoever else, that I’m Muslim… it tells people a lot about who you are,” she added.

The campaign, however, is spurring protests from Americans. For example, two Muslim women penned a December op-ed at the Washington Post in which they say the hijab campaign is intended to hide Islam’s sexist political agenda, and urged Americans to stand against Islam’s ideological oppression of women.

“Journalists and media outlets must stop making the mistake of defining hijab as ‘headscarf,’ furthering a sexist propaganda campaign to equate the two,” wrote Asra Q. Nomani and Hala Arafa.

In the name of ‘interfaith,’ well-intentioned Americans are getting duped by the agenda of Muslims who argue that a woman’s honor lies in her ‘chastity,’ pushing a platform to put a headscarf on every woman,” the Muslim women added. “Please do this instead: Do not wear a headscarf in ‘solidarity’ with the ideology that most silences us, equating our bodies with ‘honor.’ Stand with us instead with moral courage against the ideology of Islamism that demands we cover our hair.

Hijabs are tight or loose headcloths that leave the face uncovered. They’re a less restrictive version of the face-hiding burkas imposed on Afghans women, or the eye-revealing niqabs forced on Saudi women, including Saudi journalists.

Advocates of the Hijab campaign downplay their Islamic political goals, and instead portray their campaign as a women’s solidarity event.

“It’s like a ‘Walk a day in their shoes’ type of thing, for women to wear the hijab and see what happens, how things around them change when they are viewed as a Muslim woman — to step into that and get that perspective,” said NCSU senior Hoda Abrahim. “So you can empathize in a way, or just better understand it.”

At NCSU, the school’s MSA and Women’s Center jointly allowed non-Muslim women the opportunity to wear the hijab and share their stories about their experience.

World Hijab Day was billed as “an open invitation to Muslims and non-Muslims to experience the hijab for a day.” Ads for the event were clearly aimed at attacking negativity toward Muslims and proposals to limit their immigration due to concerns about terrorism from Islamic jihadists.

[the_ad id=”73455″]

“Before you judge, cover up for a day,” read one ad. “Covered by choice, not force,” another read, tying to countering the widespread view that Islam oppresses women. Yet another featured a woman in a hijab with the message, saying “Beautiful, confident, empowered.”

The Penn State Berks MSA hosted “World Hijab Day” and advertised a “free scarf for female attendees, a tutorial on how to wear the hijab, and a free lunch for all who attend.” Participants were asked to wear the hijab for the entire day and send their stories about their experiences to the school’s MSA president, reports Penn State News. A prize was awarded to the woman who submitted the most “engaging submission.”

At Texas A & M, biology junior Salam Yamak told The Battalion, “Anytime you sit down with someone and you have a conversation and you show them what your religion is all about should be casual like this,” she said about marking the day. “It creates a better environment and so we can better show the true nature of Islam.”

“Whenever you have Islamophobia or any other group that is seen as different it’s because of people not having enough knowledge or having enough experiences with Muslim people,” Yamak added.

Similarly, chemical engineering senior Danielle Gore said Islamophobia must be fought through dialogue that shows how peaceful Islam is as a religion.

“Especially for people who have only seen negative portrayals of Islam in the media and that’s what this holiday [sic] is for, to create a dialogue and to ask questions and to humanize a group of people who have been dehumanized,” he said. “Even if we do get some crazy people who yell things at us when we’re walking around campus we have definitely seen the goodness come out from our fellow Aggies by showing us support, despite the rhetoric that’s been created.”

In their anti-hijab-day op-ed, Nomani and Arafa argued that the event hides a political goal.

“Muslim special-interest groups are feeding articles about ‘Muslim women in hijab‘ under siege,” the authors say. “Staff members at the Council on American-Islamic Relations [CAIR], which has pressed legal and PR complaints against U.S. companies including Disney World and Abercrombie & Fitch, have even called their organization ‘the hijab legal defense fund.’”

federal judge concluded in 2009 that “the government has produced ample evidence to establish the associations of CAIR… with Hamas” the jihad-group based in Gaza that shoots rockets in Israeli towns and communities. Since then, FBI leaders have sharply reduced any connection to the group, which has also been and has been declared a terrorist organization by the United Arab Emirates.

According to the Investigative Project on Terrorism (IPT),

Islamic extremism is on the rise on college and university campuses across the United States. The spread of radical Islamism on campuses has proven to be an effective tool to garner support and gain legitimacy, exploiting the right of free association with academic institutions. International and domestic groups that advocate extremist or radical causes frequently host lectures and other events on campuses to shore up support and recruit members. Indeed, universities are a fertile field for radicals searching for the next generation of activists and sympathizers.

“The Muslim Students Association (MSA) of the United States and Canada was incorporated in January 1963, when members of the Muslim Brotherhood came together at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign with the goal of ‘spreading Islam as students in North America,’” states IPT.

World Hijab Day was launched in 2013 by Nazma Khan, a New York resident who hoped to change the image of the hijab as a sign of oppression of women of Islam. The day has been especially marked on college and university campuses.

Among World Hijab Day’s “endorsers” is Felixia Yeap, an ex-Playboy bunny and ex-Playboy model, who writes in support:

I support world hijab day because I have heard enough stories of why hijabi women are being bullied and mocked just because they wear a hijab. I have been and still am being sarcastically mocked and insulted just because I chose to be a full time “hijabster” despite the fact that I have not reverted yet. Thanks for coming up with this 1st Feb!

“Revert” is the Islam term for “convert,” and illustrates the orthodox Islamic claim that everybody is born a Muslim, but many are led away from the Islamic lifestyle, or “deen,” by their parents and non-Islamic societies.

Why the hatred for Gloria Steinem? She is old and no longer relevant. She did her bit and, as women, we owe her for many of the freedoms we have today. My concern is why the current generation of young women is so programmed and un-discerning that they fall for this hijab for a day and Islam is peace BS.

no hatred, just anger at her wasting a generation of women who had their minds poisoned that murdering babies in their womb was no different than pulling teeth, that marriage was slavery, and that homosexuality was perfectly normal and not a sin

I am gay, just the way God made me. It is obviously not “normal”, since only a small percentage of the population is born that way, but being in the center of the bell curve is not important to everyone. Your opinion regarding homosexuality is just that, your opinion. No one is forcing you to have an abortion or to be in a gay relationship. Why do you think you have the right to force your religious beliefs on others?

Ah, Gloria Steinem of the “Don’t treat me as a sex object” days. You’ve come a long way, Baby, only to see it lost in one season of Obama. This Muslim monstrosity sets women back centuries: “honor” killings on our shores are AKA “I got embarrassed by my daughters acting like Americans in America.” You’d think she’d be on the forefront to free these women and make a name for herself worldwide by working to protect women from sexual rampages by rooting middle easterns. She’s not that old.

Time hasn’t come. Steinhem should see it now. Most women of her era see what’s coming. But the young women of today won’t until it affects them. When our women are warned as in Germany: “Don’t provoke Muslims with the way you dress. Don’t walk in that area of town anymore. Don’t go to public swimming pools or you’ll be attacked.” Perhaps then.

“People see a veil, the hijab, but people don’t understand why we wear it,”
– Ask the women in post-1979 Iran. One day they were not wearing a hijab and the next day were wearing one. Why?
– These women and their supporters are narcissists. It is as if the outside world does not exist for them.
– I am reluctantly willing to accept the argument that these women are choosing to wearing a hijab. I am more interested, however, in the freedom of women around the world to not wear one and not be judged or killed for that decision.

Oh, we understand all too well the many reasons why they wear it. It’s because they will be murdered if they don’t. It’s because they have been sold a line that that is the only way they can be considered worthy. It is because they are afraid of Muslim men. It is because they are terrorists.

I feel we should be rescuing the ones who are wearing it out of fear.
And we should fear the ones who are wearing it because they are terrorists.

Isabellathecrusader

But it’s not just that. In their minds they are superior beings to us so wearing the hijab tells everyone they are better than us.

I love the ones who say they wear it for modesty’s sake. According to Dictionary.com, the defintion of modest is:

“having or showing a moderate or humble estimate of one’s merits,
importance, etc.; free from vanity, egotism, boastfulness, or great
pretensions.”

When it come to Muslimas and their modesty, yeah, no. There isn’t anything humble about a screeching Muslima DEMANDING her right to wear the thing. You know whenever you see one out in public bitching/boasting about how oppressed she is because of our not understanding her religion, CAIR is standing right behind her, poking her in the butt with an electric cattle prod. Once they win the lawsuit, back in the kitchen/bedroom she goes.

As to suppressing vanity, un-uh. At a hearing for the Islamic Saudi Academy in Fairfax, VA a few years back I sat next to a Muslima with the niqab covering everything but her eyes. She sat provocatively with one of her legs crossed over the other sporting a designer pantsuit and very expensive shoes. She also had enough eye makeup on to be on stage. HEr whole demeanor was, “Look at me! Look at me!” Modest she wasn’t.

As to “great pretensions”, sorry, but Muslims wrote the book on lying and faking it until you make it.

Excellent point. Probably a bunch of US raised spoiled brats behind this. Any woman lucky enough to escape life in a Muslim country where the hijab is not optional would not find it amusing or helpful, unless they are hardcore Muslims themselves.

Dravaa

The thing is that Muslims SHOULD be treated differently, with suspicion, particularly ones that in-your-face proclaim their Muslim affiliation.
This is because Muslims around the world are causing mass murder, sudden slaughters, and mayhem.
If I were a Muslim I would be deeply embarrassed by it, embarrassed what my co-religionists are doing. I would certainly opt out of such a faith.
Likewise, if I wore a hijab for a day I would EXPECT to receive the response such a declaration of affinity with Islam deserves. That’s how peer pressure works.

By trying to make it seem that it is “other people’s fault” for feeling revulsion at Islamic adherents, Muslims are simply trying to SHIRK the normal response they deserve, that they themselves by their own actions have engendered.
Muslims cause revulsion by their own actions as a group. THEY own it. THEY own whatever response they get.

For that reason Pamela is absolutely right – we need a day honoring women who have stood up to this tyranny and paid for it with their lives, at the hands of their own co-religionists.
IT’S ONE THING TO DON A HIJAB WILLINGLY. IT’S ANOTHER TO BE MURDERED FOR NOT DOING SO.
This is what needs addressing.

They are still doing these mutilations to this day. “A large number of the women of our family had been circumcised. Our mother was one of these women. She had become circumcised when she became a woman, a few weeks before she was wed. A celebration was held….One woman beat a drum, other women chanted. Nura was held by four women on a bed sheet spread on the ground. The oldest woman raised her hand in the air; with horror Nura saw a razor like instrument in her hand. Nura screamed. She felt a sharp pain in her genital region. The women congratulated her on her coming of age. Thoroughly frightened, she saw blood pouring from her wounds. She was carried into a tent and her lacerations were dressed and bandaged…. After becoming pregnant she saw a Western doctor who was appalled. He told Nura that her entire external genitalia had been removed, and that for sure, the sex act would always result in tearing, pain, and bleeding.”

Thank you for that vivid description of this act of violence against women. Please tell us why the adherents of islam refer to this butchery as ‘circumcision’.

Adults know that when men are circumcised they are still able to achieve orgasm, but when the female is ‘circumcised’ she cannot achieve orgasm.

For women it’s an act of mutilation, plain and simple. Forcibly taking away her GOD-CREATED pursuit of conjugal bliss.

I’ve tried to find out the origin of this practice, but have had no definitive luck. I want to know, who thought he knew better than God Almighty, that His Creation needed modification.

Again, I thank you for your candid post.

A German professor demands mandatory Arabic language classes for German students, and not just for a year or so, he wants them to study Arabic until the end of high school. He says, since refugees from the middle east are supposed to learn German, Germans must also learn their language. According to him this is a two-way street! So Germans have to assimilate in their own country? When you think, it can’t get worse, someone drops such a statement.

Thanks, it is time to start beating the war drums, like it or not, those who would slaughter or enslave the world, are forcing decent peoples hand. It is going to be “kill or be killed” no alternative.

In Indonesia, or perhaps Malaysiastan a woman was permanently scarred for life by the beating she took for being caught drinking a beer in public, I’ve never read of similar punishment being meted out to men for the same crime.

I totally support World Hijab Day, as long as every girl out there wears her thong bikini and uses the hijab as a low slung sarong. Accessorize with an Uzi and a belt full of pepper spray to ward off any of those pesky Muslim guys who weren’t taught self control as children. Actually, maybe we should call it Muslim Education Day.

Excellent idea. The Muslim male needs to be put in his place, on a global scale. Go Trump!

Do you think the brainwashed muslum women are any better? It was a muslum woman who planted the bomb at Sbarro pizzeria in Israel, the same muslum woman who smiled when told her bomb had killed a baby. There’s a famous video of David Horowitz speaking at a university (it might have been UCSD or SDSU) and asking a muslimah beotch what she thought of the charter of Hamas calling for the extermination of Jews — the fat sharmuta pig replied: “for it”.

I agree that Muslim women are creepy, but at least we don’t have to worry about them raping and groping other women.

. “My hijab is how I represent myself to the world: as a Muslim, first and foremost,”

Can you imagine some member of the KKK saying that about his garb? Thats how he represents himself to the world? Or a neo Nazi in an SS uniform? Yeah, they’d let them wear that to school. NOT!

Here’s a sample as envisioned by the great Sam Peckinpah:

Simply substitute Jihadists for the Mexican soliders.

PS – thank you for your service.

It’s a GREAT IDEA! We should ALL wear a hijab for the day- public, law enforcement, politicians, bankers, supermarket tellers, bricklayers, TV presenters, the unemployed, et al.

HOW would muslims [or, indeed our Liberals] deal with THAT?

The day muslims have “bacon burger and beer” fest, publicly where they partake thereof, I will consider wearing a rag on my head, until then, rags are for once a month use only.

You miss the point- this [highly unlikely] event would be done to confound the Islam-loving authorities and demonstrate that life would be impossible if we all did as muslimes do…

In honor of multiculturalism, I think that all Muslims in the US should pray the rosary for an entire day, so they can “learn to understand” Catholicism and the sensibilities of Catholics which are substantial part of the US population. After that, the Muzzies should all participate in a Baptist baptism rite so they “learn to understand” Protestants which are a substantial part of the US population. When they are done with these “diversity building” measures, they should attend synagogue for a day where they will learn about the history of the Jews and their right to Jerusalem. Finally, when all is said and done, just so they can get with the diversity program, all Muzzies should strip down to their underwear and dance on the bathhouse floats of the next Gay Parade in their area. Oh! I left out the Hindus. The Muzzies should agree to stop all halal slaughter of the poor cows since that will offend the Hindu population of the US. And let’s not forget WOMEN. All Muslim males should be required to wear hijab for year, just so they can relate to the women in their lives a little better. Isn’t diversity grand?

Well put, I’d only add that all muzzies ought to join a nudist colony and attend it just after Friday prayer for 2 days. :-), they MUST partake in all social activities that the club provides. 🙂
Hey they might even start to like it

If the hijab isn’t sexist and worn out of modesty then why don’t muslum men wear them?

–> “”Participants were asked to wear the hijab for the entire day and send their stories about their experiences to the school’s MSA president, reports Penn State News. A prize was awarded to the woman who submitted the most “engaging submission.”””…..

Yeah, imagine this one: ” I placed the hijab on my head just before leaving the house. As I walked around, I could tell people were looking at me differently. No one was mean to me or anything, but they all seemed to divert their eyes. Like I slowly became invisible. Except to other Muslims. They all seemed to make extra eye contact, and wave. That was nice. The men all seemed to look at me like a possible date. That was a little creepy, but whatever. At about 7:00 as I waited in line at the grocery store, I was pretty tired of it on my head, so I took it off and put it in my purse. I combed my hair through my fingers to fluff it a bit. Felt good to breathe. I walked into the parking lot, and that’s when it happened. I was attacked. three Muslim men and two Muslim women that had waved to me earlier that day saw me take it off in the store. They came after me, yelling at me, pushing me to the ground. My groceries spread all around. I pleaded with them and tried to explain I am not Muslim, but it made them more mad, and they wouldn’t hear any of my words. The rage as they pushed and kicked. Taking turns. I have decided, the hijab is no friend of women.”

“We reject this interpretation that the “hijab” is merely a symbol of modesty and dignity adopted by faithful female followers of Islam…To us, the “hijab”is a symbol of an interpretation of Islam we reject that believes that women are a sexual distraction to men, who are weak, and thus must not be tempted by the sight of our hair. We don’t buy it. This ideology promotes a social attitude that absolves men of sexually harassing women and puts the onus on the victim to protect herself by covering up…Do not wear a headscarf in “solidarity” with the ideology that most silences us, equating our bodies with “honor.” Stand with us instead with moral courage against the ideology of Islamism that demands we cover our hair”https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/acts-of-faith/wp/2015/12/21/as-muslim-women-we-actually-ask-you-not-to-wear-the-hijab-in-the-name-of-interfaith-solidarity/?tid=ss_fb

Islam can push all they want to. They have pushed way to many buttons and have shown themselves to be lying cowards whose “prophet” is a satanic clown and child molester. These men that claim “honor” killing are killing because they can stand for any woman to stand up to their misoginistic and barbaric way of life. They and their prophet are the scum of the earth and should rot in hell.

In Ottawa, Canada, there should be an investigation of the so-called “women’s community group” that’s pushing this event. They are funded by our taxpayer dollars and they also have undeserved charitable, tax free status. They operate franchises in cities across Canada. Almost all of their events involve pushing Islam and Islamic traditions on Canadian women, especially low income, disabled and other vulnerable women. This tells us that they are really an Islamic propaganda and indoctrination group which should be investigated. There’s a very good change they have ties to Islamist extremist groups, because this whole event is being pushed down our throats by extremist groups. Here’s the link to their website, feel free to file complaints against them with reputable media outlets and the government body responsible for awarding charitable status: http://www.cawi-ivtf.org
