Jim Joseph Foundation & Temple Shalom in Chevy Chase United Against Israel

This is a sickness infecting the soul of the American Jew. Shul after shul are sponsoring to this jewicidal rhetoric.

The latest shameful synagogue is Temple Shalom of Chevy Chase, Maryland, which hosted an event this week called “Welcoming and Listening to Diverse Positions about Israel,” featuring two anti-Israel organizations and a representative of the Government of Israel.

A leader of J Street and a leader of the New Israel Fund were joined by Ilan Sztulman, head of public diplomacy for the Embassy of Israel in Washington. Not exactly diverse positions when you have two organizations that support a boycott vs. the Israeli government — those two organizations are extreme anti-Israel organizations. A leader of Likud, or of Naftali Bennett’s party, or the Zionist Organization of America, or Caroline Glick would have provided “diverse” viewpoints.

Sztulman rightfully noted at the event “When you lobby against the government of Israel, you’re against Zionism.” He added, “I have no problem with criticism. The Jewish Agency belongs to the Jewish people. My problem is lobbying against the democratically elected government of Israel.”

We will add that we object to those who boycott Israel. Period.

Barukh Binah, the deputy chief of mission at Israel’s embassy told J Street clearly a few years ago:  “We need you to stand with us. It is as simple as that and someone ought to say it. Internal activism is a central part of democratic society, but pressures on the elected government of Israel can present us with a problem, davka (especially) when we need you the most. I respectfully submit that this relatively new role lays responsibilities before you which I am certain have not been adequately considered.”

Organizations such as the Jim Joseph Foundation, Leichtag Foundation – and of course Alisa Doctoroff of the UJA-Federation — keep financially supporting the boycotts of the New Israel Fund. That must end.

And institutions like Loomis Chafee that allow this hate in their schools must stop it now. It is as simple as that.

The Truth Must be Told

Your contribution supports independent journalism

Please take a moment to consider this. Now, more than ever, people are reading Geller Report for news they won't get anywhere else. But advertising revenues have all but disappeared. Google Adsense is the online advertising monopoly and they have banned us. Social media giants like Facebook and Twitter have blocked and shadow-banned our accounts. But we won't put up a paywall. Because never has the free world needed independent journalism more.

Everyone who reads our reporting knows the Geller Report covers the news the media won't. We cannot do our ground-breaking report without your support. We must continue to report on the global jihad and the left's war on freedom. Our readers’ contributions make that possible.

Geller Report's independent, investigative journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe our work is critical in the fight for freedom and because it is your fight, too.

Please contribute to our ground-breaking work here.
