According to the source, one “J Streeter” pushed Obama to remove the American veto protection of Israel at the UN in the event that a Security Council resolution called for the creation of a Palestinian State.(here)

The extreme left and BDS-supporting New Israel Fund has taken over much of the American Jewish establishment. We see very close ties between J Street, the New Israel Fund and Jewish Federations.

For example, current New Israel Fund CEO Daniel Sokatch formerly headed San Francisco’s Jewish Community Federation. As the senior director of marketing for the San Francisco Federation recently noted, “Daniel has always been really passionate about his commitment to Israel, so we totally understand that he’s taking this opportunity.”

Sokatch recently wrote an op-ed where he called upon American Jews to speak up against Israel, entitled “A Time To Speak,” writing, “What is happening in Israel… requires a very different set of responses from our community and our leadership. Some Jewish organizations whose mantra is never to publicly criticize Israel may be able to hide behind the fig leaf of the Prime Minister’s post-election repentance. But looking at the larger picture, we all know better.” He continues, “We Americans have an important role to play. Our love and support for Israel must be strong, but it cannot be uncritical. We have the right and indeed the obligation to speak up and make our voices heard regarding behavior that is antithetical to our American and Jewish values.”

He is being rewarded — New Israel Fund supporter, Alisa Doctoroff of the UJA-Federation, on a recent trip to Israel said that “one of the most impactful experiences on her Encounter trip was her home-stay with a Palestinian family.” She and the family’s son talked late into the night, poring over maps and talking about non-violent activism. The President of UJA-Federation spending hours with “non-violent” Palestinian activists. Surely this is the tzedekah (charity) boxes are grandparents dreamed of, right? Doctoroff added, “Seeing the common humanity speaks loudly to what needs to be done… Putting food on the table, taking kids to piano lessons, and providing for a better life are hard to do there—these are things that Palestinians in the West Bank struggle with daily and we take for granted.”  Doctoroff stands with NIF in worrying about Palestinian non-violent activism  – rather than Jews living.  Doctoroff is also a board member of the Social Venture Fund for Jewish-Arab equality and shared society, whom in their annual report discussed the need for “job placement and integration of Arab teachers into Jewish schools.”

Doctoroff clearly agrees with Sokatch – and financially supports NIF.

Similarly, the Jewish Communal Fund is a billion-dollar charity – that ignores their own policy, which says that, “The Jewish Communal Fund is committed to supporting causes that promote the welfare and security of the Jewish community here and abroad. Consequently, as part of the grant review process, the Board of Trustees of the Jewish Communal Fund retains the right to deny any grant request where the purposes and activities of the recommended charitable organization are deemed to be adverse to the interests of the Jewish Community.”

The JCF – headed by extreme radical leftist Karen R. Adler — in 2014 made contributions to the New Israel Fund in excess of $250,000. Millions have been given by JCF through the years to NIF – which harms Israel.

It’s a national trend. Charlene Seidle, executive vice president of the Leichtag Foundation and the incoming President and Chief Executive Officer of the Jewish Community Foundation of San Diego is a major New Israel Fund financial supporter.
