UK Muslims Launch Manifesto at House of Lords

Tuesday, 24 February 2015LONDON – With the upcoming political elections in the UK a new initiative the Muslim Manifesto, was launched at the House of Lords on February 23rd.
“I have been in politics for 38 years, I have never come across the Muslim community actually trying to set their own agenda, to see what they need,” Lord Nazir Ahmed told the House of Lords on Monday, February 23, at the session attended by OnIslam.net correspondent.
“Britain is one of the greatest countries in the world, where we have in law equality, we are equal members of society… We have nearly 3 million Muslims in this country, they are 4.4% of the population, there are 40 constituencies at least that can be swung with the Muslim vote.
“I’m not saying for one minute, and I would never advise the Muslim community to vote for one party. But what I say is that when you have hustings meetings, you invite the candidate, you give them the Manifesto, you ask them the questions, he who answers your questions correctly, vote for him, or for her, not for a party, as that would be a mistake. We are supporting candidates,” he added.
Lord Ahmed was speaking at the launch of “Muslim Manifesto” consultation process in the House of Lords on Monday.
The session aimed at presenting a list of recommendations about the needs of British Muslims to all political parties ahead of the General Election on March 7.
The Muslim Manifesto is a call-to-action and a set of policy recommendations targeting all Muslim and non-Muslim British politicians in local councils and parliament.
Following a nationwide consultation process which began in late January, the final manifesto will be presented to all political parties contesting the General Election
Along with Lord Ahmed, the event “Manifesto Watch” was attended by MPs, Peers, leaders of the Muslim community, academics, thinkers, community activists and media professionals.
“I want to unite people, I want to bring people to a clear, common platform,” Mohsin Abbas, one of the manifesto organizers who spearheaded its launch, was quoted by OnIslam.net correspondent.

The initiate received support from a number of leading politicians, such as David Ward, the elected MP for Bradford East.
“When I look down here (at the Manifesto) I find it difficult to isolate or differentiate the Muslim-bit of it,” he said.
“That is to say that while the issues within the first draft of the Manifesto have been designed to give a greater presence to the Muslim community in the UK, much of the substance of the Manifesto relates to what every person is looking for,” he added.
Contributions and support also came from leading British Muslim scholars such as Syed Ali Raza rizvi who said, “The Muslim leadership in Britain has failed. So far we have been service providers, but we need to become decision makers… When you do not speak for yourselves then others may speak for you.”
“You may dislike it, or you may like it, but that will be your philosophy, your theology, and your mind, if you do not speak for yourself.”
A similar sentiment was shared by Lord Qurban Hussain
“I have to say to our Muslim leaders in the community, that we may want to have a second look at how we are performing as Muslim leaders,” he said.
“The recognition being that for whatever reason, up until now, the Muslim identity, presence and contribution to society has been minimal, a counter to and contrary to the example taught to us in the Qur’an, ‘Conduct your affairs by mutual consultation’,” he added.
Shabbir Rizvi added, “All of us have a responsibility on how we take the community forward.’
This philosophy is shared by Ibrahim Taguri, a prospective MP for Brent central.
“Muslims are not one monolithic block, we are a diverse community, we have different views, different traditions, but the same faith… My main campaign as a future MP is to eradicate child poverty in the UK by 2020, an eminently feasible aspiration but one that has been neglected,” he said.
Hina Malik, a teacher, added, ‘There are a lot of women’s issues as well, I’m not just talking about hijabs, I’m talking about marriages, I’m talking about divorces, the system you have to go through. And I feel that this is a very strong forum that we can and all come together towards, united, and work with the government in this country. Tell them how we can work together, as supportive role models going forward: engaging ourselves with this community, with the government, to bring a positive contribution to society.”
One British Community
Lord Nazir Ahmed stressed that Muslims were not asking for special treatment in elections.
“Muslims are not saying that we want special treatment, all we’re asking for is equal treatment. We want to be part of British society… To live peacefully, without being demonized on a daily basis,” he said.
“I am also a strong advocate to say, don’t vote for somebody because he happens to be a Muslim… It is better to have a candidate who supports your cause, whether it is to make sure you are a part of society… There are so many issues that need to be asked,” he added.
Mohsin Abbas agreed stressing that the first state in Islam during Prophet time in Madinah included people from different faiths who lived equally.
“Can anyone argue with me, when the Prophet came, his notion of Ummah at that point was Sabians, Christians, Jews and Muslims. It wasn’t exclusively Muslim,” he said.
“Whether we choose now to turn the word Ummah into exclusively Muslim is not my problem, it’s certainly not the definition I saw our Prophet use. Our politics is about Britain, about humanity, the human beings that live in this country.”
“It is important for us as Muslims to recognize how the Prophet identified the Ummah – as a community of people with different faiths who come together for the benefit of the community.
“By failing to understand this very simple concept, over the generations the Image of Islam which significant segments of the Muslim community has propagated has led not to cohesion but to segregation based first on faith, and sadly worse by race.”
“When Muslims understand the Prophetic definition of what it is to be an Ummah, then Muslims will understand the need to be active members of whichever society they live in, not just to seek benefits and rights for Muslims, but to ensure that people of all faiths and backgrounds are afford the same dignity.”

If the West had not been technologically/militarily superior over the past few centuries, is there any doubt in anyone’s mind what a Hell muslims would have made of virtually the entire world, instead of “just” a large chunk of it?
What do you think a victorious Ottoman Empire would have done/behaved like if the Central Powers had won WWI?

it’s all very well to talk of civil war, but can i remind you what happened in Newcastle not 2 days ago… the uk-pegida march was bombarded and overwhelmed by an anti pegida march. people cant be asked to get their ass out of bed and march, let alone do anything else more strenuous in the hour of need. so much for civil war. words. all words and hot air. that’s why this country is doomed.

When Pegida first started up in Germany, there were only a few dozen supporters, but now they are in their thousands. I think, given time, the same will apply in the UK. Also, knowing how much the Brits love their football, that probably played a part in the low numbers at the rally.

I manage to drop into almost every conversation I have with friends and neighbours the question, `what do you think life will be like when we become an Islamic state?` They either look utterly stunned, bemused, or feign ignorance. Some say that they have muslim friends who are the nicest people they know. Others make their excuses and scuttle off.
People here are either ignorant of the threat, or unwilling even to discuss it.

Why would they behead her? She hasn’t lifted a finger to stop the islamic takeover of her country. Prince Charles, the heir to the throne, gives aid and comfort to the enemy every chance he gets. Prince Harry was fighting in Afghanistan, and I applaud him for it. But what good does it do to fight in Afghanistan while your own country is going to hell? Not to mention the fiasco in Afghanistan is a fool’s errand, anyway. Bring democracy to Afghanistan? What a laugh. We can’t even keep democracy at home.

This war will not be won by the politicians. If it is won at all, it will be by the people rising up and saying no to islam. I don’t see that happening anytime soon. Most of the people I talk to are totally oblivious to what islam truly is. They are all in for the “religion of peace” and “just a few extremists” nonsense. Where are the priests and preachers educating their flocks about islam? It isn’t happening. Most priests and preachers, and some rabbis, are trying to build bridges of cooperation with islam. You can’t build bridges with people who sole reason for living is to convert you, subjugate you or kill you. It’s insanity to try.
A few years back, I was reading a book on break at work and one of my co-workers asked me what it was about. I told her it was about the American Civil War. Her response: “We won that war didn’t we? She is by no means an exception to the rule. Half of thepeople in the country don’t even know our own history, much less what is going on in the rest of the world.

Unfortunate that Pegida chose Newcastle for the march they are socialist supporters and unions reign there. They are more anti right wing than pro muslim, they are the same people who supported the leftist, liberal laws that got us in this mess in the first place. I hope Pegida continue with the marches I’m sure support will grow, there is opposition in the UK but like elsewhere our leaders want to play it down especially in the run up to the election.

Interesting how these muz pols talk about how they want equal treatment in society when they refuse to be part of it. Note how the muz pols talk of and for “muslims.” They don’t talk of “British.”
My point – they sequester themselves, refuse to assimilate, and self-identify as muz – not British – then complain of not being equal in the society they don’t participate in. All the while they cry racism while demanding more services, accommodation, entitlement, you name it. It’s a false logic.
Seems if they substituted “British” for “muz” all their demands would be met. If they self-identified as British subjects, obeyed British law, contributed to British society ie. assimilated; they would have all they claim to lack. The failure is totally on themselves. That’s the reality that’s been forgotten/overlooked/swept under the carpet by Brit society and political leadership. It’s a truth muz don’t want Brits to see, and likely one many ignorant muz can’t grasp and so it’s hidden by muz leaders through demands, violence and false grievances.
Western societies all need to recognize muz don’t immigrate in the sense we do. They don’t come to a country to start a new life, contribute to society and become good citizens. They come as colonizers. They come to take, not to contribute. Likewise they do not participate in the political process as citizens upholding the culture and society to which they come, rather they infiltrate political structures in order to dominate.
As an American, we have much to fear as the same forces are at work here. The difference as I see it is that where the Brit pols are soft in the head and preach nanny-pamby BS, ours gleefully take the money and sell us down the river. Different deceit, same destination.
UKIP seems a step in the right direction. Dire consequences call for clear thinking and strong, effective action. Will enough Brits be bold enough to take it and drive through to wherever it leads? I sure hope so. The world needs such an example and who better than the country that gave us the Magna Carta.

The word Ummah refers to “the people” in Arabic, more specifically to Muslim people with a common ideology and culture. “Ummah” is also said in the Quran by Allah referring to Muslims.

The muslims in UK and other European countries will attempt to hijack the countries in which they now live. by voting to change the laws, by force, and violence. The Europeans will seat back until an incident will trigger a backlash resulting in a major clash. Many muslim casualties and deportations. The UK need to wake soon and take appropriate actions to counter the islamic threat, the longer they wait the worst the reaction will get.

Who is being “demonised”? It is not the muslim scum. It is us Jews and Christians. Just read the violent, hateful and above all, evil Qur’an and Hadith.
They may be “nice” muslim politicians and next door neighbours, but they want us muslim or dead.

about their so called prophet – that’s around 450 MILLION. World
population is around 7 BILLION. UK population at 60 MILLION is 1 part
in 120. Average muslim family = 6 children so assume only 1 in 8 is adult male
= 60 MILLION worldwide willing to ” seek out the unbeliever and strike
at his neck ” divided by 120 = 500,000 muslims in the UK who want
to cut off my head. Like I said , it WILL happen again.

England set the stage for this when they did not stand fast and demand that all who immigrate assimilate to the English laws. When they allowed Muslim law of marriage they took rights away from their own nation and are now paying for it.

My mymy, the “Muslims” appear to be saying all of the right things. However, careful reading of their statements show the veiled threats. Why would they choose to create a list of demands thinly veiled as concerns specific to Muslims? Why would they call it a Manifesto, as in Communist Manifesto? What is worse is that Britain is clearly capitulating. Churchill must be turning over in his grave as he watches the principles and laws that he fought so hard to defend and uphold rapidly giving way to Sharia law and in turn the cultural and social surrender of his country.
