American Muslims are attacking Netanyahu on the eve of his speech. We fight back.
DEFENDING THE WEST
U.S. Muslim group’s newest Jew-hating ad
Exclusive: Pamela Geller unveils campaign to counter effort to demonize Jewish state
They are at it again. But so are we.
The Islamic supremacist group American Muslims for Palestine, or AMP, is yet again libeling Israel and calling for it to be thrown to the jihadi wolves. And my organization, the human rights advocacy group American Freedom Defense Initiative, or AFDI, is once again countering them every step of the way.
The AMP ad pictures Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu holding a sign, and it quotes Netanyahu, “America is a thing you can move very easily,” and adds: “Stop the disrespect – End US Aid to Israel.”
AMP, the sponsor of this Jew-hating ad, evokes the ugly anti-Semitic stereotypes in which Jew-haters have long trafficked. This is part of a systematic campaign by many different Islamic and leftist groups to dehumanize and demonize the Jewish state. This vicious propaganda is running unchallenged even by pro-Israel groups that ought to be at the forefront of this battle.
To counter the AMP ads, we’re reviving our renowned ads reading, “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man,” with the new tagline, “Increase aid to Israel. Stop funding jihad.”
We’re also rolling out a new ad reading: “‘Oh Allah, vanquish the Jews and their supporters. Oh Allah, vanquish the Americans and their supporters. Oh Allah, count their numbers, and kill them all, down to the very last one.’ – Palestinian Legislative Council Speaker Sheikh Ahmad Bahr. Stop the disrespect – End US Aid to the Palestinian Authority and Gaza.”
And another: “‘The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel.’ – PLO executive committee member Zahir Muhsein. Stop the disrespect – End US Aid to the Palestinian Authority and Gaza.”
The AMP’s agenda is frankly insidious. The organization is run by Dr. Hatem Bazian, a University of California at Berkeley professor who equated the Boston jihad bombings with “Islamophobia.”
All this is happening against the backdrop of Netanyahu’s visit to America and the Obama administration’s attempts to sabotage it and undermine him. The Obama administration is aggressively going after Israel. Obama has not been nearly as vicious with America’s enemies – the Taliban (or moderate Taliban, as his administration has been known to call them), al-Qaida, Boko Haram, Iran, etc. On the contrary, he has been most accommodating and submissive to our adversaries.
The threat Iran poses to Israel is existential – life and death. Netanyahu said that the Western powers may be willing to live with a nuclear-armed Iran, but that he could not. He must speak to clear-thinking, rational, freedom-loving peoples.
Obama is hitting back, and hitting back hard. His war on Israel is in high gear, with all of his attack dogs on the offense. It’s monstrous and anti-Semitic. Breathtakingly so.
Obama’s National Security Adviser Susan Rice warned last Wednesday that Netanyahu’s planned address to the U.S. Congress was “not only unfortunate” but “destructive to the fabric” of Israel-U.S. ties.
The Obama administration is pulling out the stops – threatening to destroy the special relationship we have had with Israel since its re-founding. Obama is strong-arming Democrats to boycott Bibi’s speech. Obama is using this attack on a close ally to further divide our nation. Iran is loving every minute of it, while kicking Obama in the teeth and publicly taunting him about groveling to it.
Yet despite Obama’s manufactured controversy about “protocol” (this from a philistine who all but spits on convention, decorum and propriety), his ambushes, public humiliation, mocking, bullying and intimidation of Prime Minister Netanyahu, the pied piper of political anti-Semitism failed abysmally: The Senate unanimously passed a resolution stating, “The Senate warmly welcomes the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, on his visit to the United States, which provides a timely opportunity to reinforce the United State-Israel relationship.”
Increasingly, we see that the more you speak the truth, the uglier the enemy’s response becomes, which, of course, makes us smile. New York transit authorities have already demanded that I provide substantiation the quotes in my new ads. This is nothing new. Every time I submit an ad, I have to provide evidence of everything I am asserting. I’d like to know if the AMP is held to the same standard. Were they asked to prove that Netanyahu really said that? Were they asked to provide the context? I doubt it.
Now more than ever, we have to educate the American people. And we are getting it done. AFDI fights the propaganda putsch of the AMP and other leftist and Islamic supremacist groups by going on the offense and taking the message to the people. We’re bringing the truth about Israel, the global jihad against free people, and Islamic supremacism directly to the people. We force a media discussion of the grim realities of jihad and Shariah that they usually sweep under the rug.
Now more than ever, when voices and work like ours are increasingly silenced, we have to be bolder and go on the offense. Please help us: Contribute here.
