Anti-Semitic Attack on Mother and Baby in Paris

Ilan Halimi was just the beginning. Is it any wonder that the Jews are fleeing Europe?

“Anti-Semitic Attack on Mother and Baby in Paris,” Cherson and Molschky, May 15, 2014

On Tuesday, a Jewish woman and her baby were assaulted in Paris, adding to the daily acts of anti-Semitism which occur across the globe. The assailant reportedly shook the baby stroller of the 6 month-old and shouted, “Dirty Jewess, enough with your children already, you Jews have too many children, screw you.”

According to the JTA, in 2013, the SPCJ, the French Jewish community’s watchdog on anti-Semitism, recorded 423 anti-Semitic incidents, a 31 percent decrease from the number recorded the previous year. However, the 2013 level was still higher by 8 percent than the number recorded in 2011.

The situation for Jews in France has become so unbearable that many have had to leave, and there are more and more French Jews making Aliyah to Israel as a result. Arutz Sheva reported that in the first few months of 2014, there was a 312% rise in French Aliyah, partly due to anti-Semitic harassment.

But Jews in France are not alone in combating the hatred. A new ADL survey, which found that a quarter of the world population is anti-Semitic, and 70% of those anti-Semites have never met a Jew, demonstrates the magnitude of the problem. The conclusions to be drawn from the survey are endless, and as Dr. Manfred Gerstenfeld, former Chairman of the Jerusalem Center of Public Affairs, put it, For every Jewish person in the world, there are 700 anti-Semites. If we put all the anti-Semites together into one country, it would become the third largest nation after China and India.”

Just think about that. For every Jew there are 700 anti-Semites, 490 of which have never met a Jew!
