The Times of London: “Pamela Geller has been called both ‘epically insane’ and a US national treasure”

49

Here again all the media smear words: “anti-Islamic” — they cannot bring themselves to say anti-jihad. And they propagate lies and innuendo. They suggest that my work might incite violence “such as her recent suggestion that the wildfires
currently ravaging Arizona might be the work of a Palestinian jihadist” — I didn’t say that; a jihadist group took credit for it. My headline was: “Jihadist group claims credit for Arizona wildfire.” I merely reported that.

Please contribute to our legal fund to fight the ban here.

“Anti-Islam campaigner Pamela Geller to fight exclusion from Britain” Alexandra Frean,
The Times, July 5, 2013

Pamela Geller, the controversial US anti-Islamic writer and activist, is not a
woman easily deterred. So when she says that she is mounting a legal battle
against a ban on her entry to Britain, it is as well to take her seriously.

“My banning was an instance of the UK acting to criminalise criticism of
Islam,” Ms Geller said.

She and a fellow activist, Robert Spence [sic], had been due to speak at an English
Defence League (EDL) rally in Woolwich last month and to lay flowers at the
spot where Drummer Lee Rigby was killed. But the anti-fascism group Hope not
Hate successfully lobbied to exclude the pair, arguing that they would stir
up trouble because of their extreme anti-Muslim views. Theresa May, the Home
Secretary, agreed that their presence was “not conducive to the public good”.

Ms Geller bridles at the suggestion that she is anti-Muslim. “I work with
Muslim girls who are threatened at home because they want to lead a more
Western life. You never hear about that aspect of our work,” she says.

Asked about Channel 4’s decision to broadcast the Muslim call to prayer during
Ramadan, she said: “I think they should also broadcast a Catholic Mass and a
minyan davening every morning as well as regular Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist and
Zoroastrian services.”

Ms Geller rose to prominence in 2009 when she and Mr Spencer, founders of the
group Stop Islamization of America, led protests against plans to build an
Islamic community centre in Manhattan, close to the site of the 9/11
attacks. They dubbed it the “Ground Zero mosque”.

Ms Geller is variously described as “epically insane” or “an American and
Jewish national treasure”. Although she does not advocate violence, critics
believe that her writings — such as her recent suggestion that the wildfires
currently ravaging Arizona might be the work of a Palestinian jihadist, and
her accusation that the American President is consistently “on the side of
Jihadic Islamic supremacist regimes
” — are inflammatory.

She spoke recently at New York University and at the Conservative Political
Action Conference in Washington. But she also associates with less
mainstream organisations, such as the EDL.

Life wasn’t always like this for Ms Geller, 55, a divorced mother of four. “I
was the quintessential New York City career girl. I was associate publisher
of the New York Observer,” she says. “I loved my fashion, I loved my
music, I loved my art, I loved my life. Of course, everything changed on
9/11. I felt guilty that I didn’t know who had attacked my country. I began
to study.”

Her blog, named Atlas Shrugged [sic] after the novel by the libertarian author Ayn
Rand, now gets 50,000 unique hits a day, she says in a lengthy e-mail
exchange. But she regularly receives death threats and always has armed
guards present whenever she speaks. Although she has never been banned from
speaking in the US, “Islamic supremacists and Leftists” occasionally
intimidate hosts into cancelling her appearances.

She is gratified by the support she has received in the UK and US for her
battle against the Home Secretary. A petition supporting her entry to the UK
has received 8,545 signatures and a legal fund has raised $8,631. She is,
though, disappointed by Mrs May’s “pathetic and self-defeating” attitud .
“It demonstrates to me that our cause is more critically needed now than
ever.”

You touch on something I’ve long noticed about the reaction to AS, Pam. The vast majority of your posts lead off with a hard news story, yet I have never heard any of your critics denounce those stories as false or exaggerated. They berate you for passing comment, without once questioning the sources of your concern. I have always found this quite odd.

I suppose I agree with Marcus, it could have been far worse.
I do wish media, when quoting others, did not distort original quotes, buy hey ho, that’s part and parcel of the state of our MSM for you. Also, The Times, it is Shrugs, not Shrugged.

Pro-Life and Pro-Freedoms are mutually exclusive to Islamism. The British Admn is behaving badly, sliding to a point of no return. And you can’t wake up someone pretending to be asleep.
The notorious backlash against Pamela exposes how difficult it is to confront what is occurring in the world today – its safe to say Obama is in full swing with emails and phones behind the curtain, as with his work against Israel and the U.S. and his support for the Brotherhood.

Definitely a US National Treasure. You’d have to be crazy to think she is ‘epically insane’.
Refusing her entry, and squash a planned show of Love and respect. Now that is insane!

Pamela is epically courageous and exemplifies the sanctity of truth.
How else could we possibly define national treasure?
Pamela, you and Robert set the bar.
The leadership in the UK has sold its soul to Saudi money. This we define as national treason. Submitting to Islam we can define as national suicide.

‘The Times'(London), is part of News International, and apart from having a large Saudi share-ownership, is joining the ‘politically-correct’ media establishment, perhaps to avoid further press regulation from myopic U.K government.
On most issues, ‘The Times’ takes an Islamic-compliant political line, and is more hostile to the EDL which opposes Sharia law, than it is to the Muslim Brotherhood.

My guess is there are many Brits who are smug in their self-assurance that what happened to England in the nineteen thirties when they embraced Neville Chamberlain will never happen again; perhaps the majority believe it. We have an otherwise educated Brit on one of our political discussion groups who assures me had Churchill not become prime minister, England would have made peace with Germany. And so it goes with England today. “Peace in our time.”

This group that smugly labels itself Hope not Hate certainly do live in hope that the Islamists will leave them alone. Those of us who oppose Islam are not fuelled by hate but by a protective instinct. Of course Hope not Hate do not have this instinct but rather an appeasing one. Moreover, that they claim to be concerned that Miss Geller might incite violence shows how patronising the group is too. It assumes we who oppose Islam are unthinking and therefore too brutish to be trusted to listen to her. I don’t think for one minute that Hope not Hate harbours this same concern for their anti-capitalist bedfellows who rail almost daily at their shared pet targets of bankers and big business etc. Does this too not incite violence? If May banned these from opening their mouths the group would label her un-democratic.

Apologies for O/T, but is there any evidence of jihadist involvement in the Quebec train disaster? It seems rather suspicious because train brakes are designed to fail safe. If the freight cars part company with the locomotive, then the air-hose is severed and the brakes are applied at full strength, unless maliciously interfered with. These pressurized tankers rolled back downhill for several miles with apparently no application of brakes.

“Hope not Hate” is in reality, “Delusion not Defence”.
They are saying, let us not defend our children, our community, our nation against hateful and criminal fascists. Let us stay in our delusion and ignore the reality of everyday horror events. BUT to stay in our delusion, we MUST supress those who speak the truth!

I am proud to be anti-Islamic. Of course, I am anti-Jihad. But being knowledgeable about Islamic religion, I am also definitely anti-Islam.
Why am I anti_Islam? Well, because what is Islam? Islam is, in essence, revelations, and teachings f Mohammed. And this man Mohammed was a very, very evil man. He was a killer, rapist, slave trader, pedophile, caravan raider, you name a capital crime, this guy did it!! So I am very much anti-Mohammed. And that means I am against the teachings of this evil man. Ergo I am anti-Islam.
But I am not Anti muslim because I see them as victims of this evil and oppressive Islamic religion. But if they start to follow the evil examples of the prophet Mohammed like rape, murder, assassination, terrorism, of course I would then be against those muslims who commit these criminal acts.

If one is quoted, the quote should be accurate. That said, in the bigger scheme of things, it is my impression that Pam is anti-Islam (which doesn not mean anti-Muslim). Jihad is part of the teachings of Islam, so it’s all the same, no? At least that’s my take away from much of Pam Geller’s writings and the writings of other luminaries in the field. And so what? Islam is a totalitarian doctrine. So I’m left a bit confused by this post because I thought Pam was/is anti-Islam.

All serious muslims ARE engaged in a perpetual warfare against non muslims ( as taught by the Koran). So they should be considered as potential suspects in most unexplained incidents. When those 3 Jewish young men in Boston were killed by decapitation, muslims should have been looked at as potential suspects.

There waa a typically “in-your-face” and spot-on rant this week from Pat Condell, criticizing pisslam in his own “take-no-prisoner” point of view; in it he also mentions at length the total absurdity – and, of course, bias – in banning Pam Geller and Robert Spencer from entering the UK. It was good to see his strong support for Pam and Robert and, of course, the cause – Freedom of speech & conscience – they so eloquently espouse.

Listen White People Not of the Muslim faith.
I am an asian from the far EAST.
The way I have been looking at how the west deal with ISLAM
My verdict is this.
The west shall and will be destroyed not by Muslim but by your own
appeasement society from the PORKlition to your MDEDIA and Powelful Institiution as well as individual such as liberals and democrates.
It is with sadness that just maybe we the asian of the Far East of Japan / China / Taiwas / Korea / Vietnam / Thailand / Burma may need to come to your rescue.
But then again , your so racist against the Mongoloid races you so called and called us names and so prejudiced against us Japan / China / Taiwas / Korea / Vietnam /Thailand / Burma ..ETC… that we can only watch your demised by surely and certainty by MSULIM with the aid of your own people.
I suggest you deal with the Muslim the Burmese / Chinese deal with the muslim.
The muslim masacre by the Mongols of the Genghis Khan will remind the Muslim that surely
we the ASIAN of the Mongolid races will annihilate the muslim from the face of the EARTH. Violence for Violne3ce ..Peace for Peace… By the way , when we killed, we always up the ante to be more BRUTAL, beyond your imagination what we can do.
Look at how the Jap fight in WW2 , the Vietnamese in the Vuietnam war.
Look at the KOREAN 1953 war…
Also , this is KARMA for the WESTERN people as you have been so EVIL for the last 500 years, colonising just about every non-white.
Maybe the so called GOD of the universe had enough of the white crimes against humanity that he purposely used the MUSLIMN to wipe you all out.
Please don;t think I talke rubbish . Your WESTERN values and all you white will be
anihinalated by Muslim . PERIOD. By the year 2100..White people are so rare that we may be amazed in wonder….what happen to these people… Go figure..

Truth be told: It is rather Ironic 50 years ago the White man had subjugated practically the entire world for profit. But have been so wuzzified by the white women that he will not stand up for his own culture now. Flawed as it is, it has enabled the world to reach the 21st century. It looks like we will be headin back to the 7th.
I hope you Asians have appreciated the western enlightenment that has ruled the world recently and can balance common sense and freedom in this century. It surely looks like Western Civilization WILL LOSE as it now stands.
I believe however the BANKSTERS are not so stupid to build Red China into the most powerful nation on the earth in the next 10 years and attempt to rule her. I fear they have some global calamity in stored for them and the rest of us so they will REMAIN dominate.
Remember, the Globalist organizations ALL desire only 500 million to 2 Billion people on the earth. I highly doubt that includes you or I!

Of course there were strong links between Germany and England. The royal families of Europe were all closely related but just because someone was German does not mean that they were Nazi as well. The Mountbatten’s family name was previously Battenberg and it was changed to make it less German but Earl Mountbatten was not German himself. I think it is natural that the British wanted to avoid conflict after the experience of World War I but they did actually declare war on Germany and Chamberlain resigned, so to say they “embraced Chamberlain” is rather unfair. Large sections of American society were anti-British at the time and Congress voted against refugee children being allowed into the US on kindertransports. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
