“Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer to Appeal Banning from UKWall Street Journal, July 2, 2013

NEW YORK, July 2, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Human
rights activists Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer of the American
Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) are challenging the decision to ban
them from the United Kingdom, and have instructed lawyers in that
country.

Story continues below advertisement

Geller and Spencer are challenging British Home Secretary Theresa
May’s decision to prevent them from entering the country in order to lay
a wreath at a memorial for British soldier Lee Rigby on Armed Forces
Day, June 29. Rigby was murdered by Islamic jihadists on a street in
Woolwich on May 22.

Geller, AFDI’s Executive Director, said in a statement: “I have been
banned in Britain. My crime? My principled dedication to freedom. I am a
human rights activist dedicated to freedom of speech, freedom of
conscience and individual rights for all before the law. I fiercely
oppose violence and the persecution and oppression of minorities under
supremacist law. I deplore violence and work for the preservation of
freedom of speech to avoid violent conflict.”

AFDI’s Associate Director, Spencer, noted that the United Kingdom
recently admitted the Saudi Muslim cleric Mohammed al-Arifi, who has
said: “Devotion to Jihad for the sake of Allah, and the desire to shed
blood, to smash skulls and to sever limbs for the sake of Allah and in
defense of His religion, is, undoubtedly, an honor for the believer.”
Spencer added: “Such open calls for jihad violence are apparently
acceptable in Britain as long as one is in favor of such violence; only
those who oppose it are excluded.”

A petition asking British authorities to remove the ban and allow
Geller and Spencer into the country has gained over 8,000 signatures in
just a few days; it can be found at www.britishban.com. Geller and
Spencer have also established a website for updates on the case and
donations to this cause of free speech: www.britishlegalfund.com.

AFDI stands for:

— The freedom of speech — as opposed to Islamic prohibitions of
“blasphemy” and “slander,” which are used effectively to quash honest
discussion of jihad and Islamic supremacism;

— The freedom of conscience — as opposed to the Islamic death penalty for
apostasy;

— The equality of rights of all people before the law — as opposed to
Sharia’s institutionalized discrimination against women and non-Muslims.

“Statements that MAY foster hatred which MIGHT lead to intercommunity violence” (my emphasis) are cited as the reason for excluding Robert Spencer. There does not, in fact, have to be any act of hatred or violence, just the risk that there MIGHT be (as judged by Muslim spokesmen, no doubt). The category is everlastingly extendable, the UK equivalent of Sharia blasphemy law.
All power to your appeal.

If not the law then at least logic dictates that Pam and Robert should win this, and the ban overturned. Let’s hope (some) logic still applies in Europe these days.

Robert Spencer – Jihad Watch:-
In one of the most foolish and self-defeating decisions in recent memory, the British government has banned us from entering the country.
Our message of free speech and equality of rights for all before the law is too hot for them. But just last week they let in a Saudi imam who has said: “Devotion to jihad for the sake of Allah, and the desire to shed blood, to smash skulls, and to sever limbs for the sake of Allah and in defense of His religion, is, undoubtedly, an honor for the believer.”
That’s fine with British authorities. Resisting that jihad is not.
But we’re not taking this lying down. We’re not willing to give up once-Great Britain to the Left-fascists and Islamic supremacists who got us banned. We’re going to appeal this decision. We’re determined to stand for freedom with our English allies – and to do it in London.
It’s not going to be easy. The entire British government and media elite is determined to appease Islamic supremacists and discredit and silence the defenders of freedom. We will have to hire a top British legal team that can navigate through all the roadblocks and obstacles that the Home Office puts up.
It’s going to cost us upwards of $25,000.
Can you help? This cause is larger than just the two of us. Everyone who speaks out against jihad and Islamic supremacism will ultimately be targeted in the same way. If we don’t make a stand and overcome this now, the foes of freedom will be bolder than ever to pick us off, one by one, and impose their sinister agenda.
This is the official fundraiser for the Geller/Spencer legal fight. No one else is autorized to raise funds in our name.

Poster on Jihad Watch said this: I tried to donate to your legal fund but the “indiegogo” site would not allow me to enter a Canadian postal code for my address. This needs to be fixed or you will lose many potential contributors.
Thre are another two comments regarding problems donating – should look into this Pamela, asap?
