AFLC Submits a FOIA request for Killian Presentation and Background for Obama’s War on Free Speech

The leading pro-freedom legal organization in the nation (and my winning legal counsel), The American Freedom Law Center,  has submitted the following Freedom of Information Act request to the Department of Justice concerning last night's full frontal attack on free speech.

Re: Freedom of Information Act Request

Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act (5 U.S.C. § 552), I hereby request copies of the
following described records in your possession, whether initiated by your agents or employees or
any outside agency:

1. All records, reports, writings, notes, documents, memoranda, e-mails, photographs,
videotapes, tape recordings, PowerPoint presentations, or other statements or recordings
relating to or referencing the appearance and presentation by William C. “Bill” Killian,
the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Tennessee, at the “Public Disclosure in a
Diverse Society” event at the Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center on June 4,
2013.

2. All records, reports, writings, notes, documents, memoranda, e-mails, photographs,
videotapes, tape recordings, PowerPoint presentations, or other statements or recordings
relating to or referencing the appearance or presentation of Kenneth Moore, special agent
in charge of the FBI’s Knoxville office relating to or referencing the “Public Disclosure
in a Diverse Society” event at the Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center on June
4, 2013.

I am willing to pay fees for this request. If you estimate that the fees will exceed $200.00, please
inform me first.

I will accept production by email to my email address above, by facsimile transmission to my
facsimile number above, or to my New York office listed above.

If you deny this request in whole or in part, I request that you do so by reference to the
appropriate section and paragraph of the Freedom of Information Act, together with a complete
explanation of the basis for your denial.

Awesome. I would like to know what the presentation actually said, what distinctions were drawn or blurred, etc. So far, that hasn’t been clear to me. If the presentation merely said that people using social media to plot violence are breaking the law, that would be no big deal. If there are actual incursions into free speech or a lot of fuzzy statements that seem to provide cover for future incursions, it would be good to understand exactly what’s going on. I hope the documents will be forthcoming and that they’ll shed light on all this.

Why is it that it is the muslim community fighting for the reduction of freedom of speech?
Why other religious organisations are able to deal with this critical but necessary aspects of Democracy in a more tolerant manner?
