Countering Islamic apartheid
Exclusive: Pamela Geller exposes oppression of women, gays, non-Muslims

As I noted in my WND column Wednesday,
the Islamic supremacist group American Muslims for “Palestine” is
running repulsive, anti-Semitic ads in the New York City transit system –
beginning on the first day of Passover. The ads accuse Israel of being
an “apartheid” state. And now my organization, the American Freedom
Defense Initiative, or AFDI, is responding with a new series of ads of
our own, focusing on the real apartheid, Islamic apartheid: the
institutionalized oppression of women, gays and non-Muslims under
Islamic law (Shariah).

Story continues below advertisement

Enemedia coverage has been typical. Newsday said: “Supporters of Israel are striking back at pro-Palestine ads placed at Metro-North stations during the Passover
holiday with billboards graphically depicting what it claims is Islamic
oppression of gays, Jews and women.” The anti-Semitic ads aren’t
“pro-Palestine” or pro-anything; they say “End apartheid now! Stop U.S.
aid to Israel.” But Newsday is anxious to present them as positive, not
negative, and so they’re “pro-Palestine.” My ads, meanwhile, which
depict the actual mistreatment of women, gays, non-Muslims and Jews in
Islamic lands, only “claim” to depict “oppression.”

Newsday quotes at length the head of American Muslims for
“Palestine,” Hatem Bazian, while including no statement from me, even
though I sent one to Newsday reporter Tom Zambito. And of course, the
Newsday piece doesn’t mention this notorious statement from Bazian
at a rally in 2004: “We’re sitting here and watching the world pass by,
people being bombed, and it’s about time that we have an intifada in
this country that change[s] fundamentally the political dynamics in
here. … They’re gonna say, ‘some Palestinian being too radical’ – well,
you haven’t seen radicalism yet!”

But now this self-described radical who called for armed insurrection
in the United States and is publishing anti-Semitic ads vilifying
Israel in Goebbels-like terms is in the mainstream and gets ample space
in Newsday to smear my ads as “racist.” What race is Islam’s legalized
mistreatment of women, gays, non-Muslims and Jews?

Yori Yanover in the Jewish Press
was even worse: “The American Freedom Defense Initiative, the group
that brought you subway ads equating Muslims to savages, is hoping to
install yet another round of anti-Islamist posters, this time at
Metro-North stations.

Pamela Geller, NYC’s most outspoken Islamophobe and executive director of the AFDI, submitted the ads to the MTA Tuesday.”

My earlier ads did not equate Muslims to savages. They equated
jihadists who murder innocent Israeli civilians and celebrate those
murders with savages. And yet the Jewish Press calls me an “Islamophobe”
and sides with those who are perpetrating a blood libel against Israel.
Yanover even goes out of his way to write this: “The MTA, however, will
likely include a prominent disclaimer on the ads that reads, ‘This is a
paid advertisement sponsored by the American Freedom Defense
Initiative. The display of this advertisement does not imply MTA’s
endorsement of any views expressed.’” The American Muslims for
“Palestine” ad carries the same disclaimer, but the Jewish Press doesn’t
mention that, as if to suggest that my ads are so toxic that only they
have to carry the disclaimer. But no matter how desperately Yanover
tries to obfuscate and sanitize jihad mass murder, he merely comes off
as the craven quisling he obviously works so hard to be.

Even Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty ran a piece
attacking an earlier series of AFDI ads – my ads depicting real
statements from real jihadists to counter the deceptive campaign by the
Hamas-tied Council on American-Islamic Relations to whitewash the bloody
meaning of jihad. Radio Free Europe and Radio Liberty once stood for
freedom against Soviet communist tyranny. Now they’ve reduced themselves
to a propaganda arm for the latest tyranny to threaten the free world:
that of Islamic supremacism. Their article runs interference for
Hamas-CAIR’s cynical #MyJihad campaign, which is intended to make
Americans complacent about the jihad threat. Shillers for killers.

RFE/RL reporter Heather Maher wrote that I was the same as
“extremists” like Osama bin Laden (when did I order any planes flown
into buildings?): “The other group of extremists is represented by
people like Pamela Geller, who eagerly embraces the word’s [jihad] most
violent meaning.” Robert Spencer responded: “This is the basest libel.
Pamela Geller doesn’t ‘eagerly embrace’ jihad’s ‘most violent meaning.’ …
She is trying to call attention to it so as to increase resistance to
it. … This is like saying that Winston Churchill ‘eagerly embraced’ and
‘promoted’ Nazism.”
