A gruesome wake-up call

Exclusive: Pamela Geller defends rights against 'encroachment of bloody ideology'

This was our worst nightmare. Despite our best efforts to raise
awareness about the jihad threat, the mainstream media and government
denial about its reality has borne terrible fruit: a monstrous Islamic
attack took place on the streets of Boston, targeting mothers and
children, families and freedom-loving people. The bombs were designed
not to blow up buildings but to maim, mutilate and tear through flesh
and bone.

Story continues below advertisement

Now everyone is suddenly all over the jihad threat. Last week, Bill
Maher dared to go off the liberal reservation and note that Islam
incited more violence than Christianity – whereupon his politically
correct guest needled him with “I have a girl for you, Pam [sic] Geller.” But
Maher stood his ground and ultimately said to his guest, “I should
introduce you to Pam Geller” – thus implying that I am right to be concerned about Islamic jihad and Islamic supremacism.

And last week Fox News featured its house liberal, Bob Beckel,
warning about the dangers of jihad terrorism and even saying that Muslim
students should be barred from entering the country (which,
incidentally, is something I have never advocated).

The irony was thick. In 2010 I had a sharp exchange with Beckel
on Fox when he decried my work sounding the alarm about jihad terror
and Islamic supremacism in the U.S. The Boston jihad bombings have been a
gruesome, horrible wake-up call, revealing how the American people have
been betrayed by the Obama administration, the media and the Homeland
Security apparatus which, instead of dealing realistically with jihad
terror, have been fixated upon nonexistent “right-wing terrorists” –
like me.

The issue here is larger than me or my work. For years now, leftist
enablers of jihad and Islamic supremacism have labeled their opponents
“hateful,” “extreme” and “right wing” – as if defense of the freedom of
speech and the equality of rights for all people before the law were
“right wing.”

The defenders of freedom have put up with an appalling level of
defamation to educate and warn the American people about the gravest
national security threat this great country faces.

Our work is dedicated to human rights – the freedom of speech, the
freedom of conscience and individual rights. It is a noble cause, a
righteous cause. But the defamation of those who work for this cause is a
key weapon of leftists and Islamic supremacists. Just recently leftist
and Islamic supremacists mounted a smear campaign to intimidate a
synagogue in Great Neck, Long Island into dropping my speaking
appearance there. Fortunately, two other rabbis with spine stood up to
them and had me speak at their synagogues instead. But the pattern was
clear: the cancellation by the Great Neck Synagogue sent the message
that if leftists and Muslims defame those they hate loudly enough and
for a long enough time, they will succeed in getting them silenced.

Key weapons in the arsenal of these foes of free speech are the
increasingly defamatory Anti-Defamation League and the notorious
communist hate organization, the Southern Poverty Law Center, or SPLC.
Both tar with the label “hate group” any organization that differs from
their political agenda. Not coincidentally, a follower of the SPLC
recently attempted to assassinate Family Research Council, or FRC, head
Tony Perkins and other FRC officials because the SPLC had smeared the
FRC as a “hate group.” This shows that the real hatred and incitement to
violence come from the left – from the very groups that smear
counter-jihadists as “hateful.” Nonetheless, the mainstream media
constantly use the smears from these groups to marginalize and demonize
the resistance to jihad terror.

But now the choice is clear. Those who claim to oppose the ideology
of the Boston jihad bombers cannot consistently oppose
counter-jihadists, for our work is dedicated solely to defending
individual rights against the encroachment of that bloody ideology.

Go and read it all.

[Not so off topic as there is a correlation, being these deviants are ‘their’ enablers]
Somebody save us please.
In the UK, there is a real threat that pornography will be taught in schools!! Can you believe this??
This is what happens when Government related organisations becomes infiltrated and contaminated by the depraved leftists/socialists/marxists/communists/extreme liberals mindset.
They destroy the fabric of societies. They make sexual deviancy. abuse and pornography (and extreme pornography) palatable.
I find this truly very frightening. People should stop being so dangerously apathetic and get out there and vote, or the three main parties (all infiltrated) will destroy our country and our kids.
Please read.
What kind of society treats smacking as a war crime – while teaching children how to watch porn? [By Melanie Phillips]
A group of sex education ‘experts’ has suggested that pupils should be taught in school about pornography, on the grounds that it is not ‘all bad’ and can even be ‘helpful’ to them.
Yes, you read that right.
The Sex Education Forum says in a new publication for schools that pornography should be taught in terms of ‘media literacy and representation, gender, sexual behaviour and body image’.
Behind the gobbledegook, this seems to be at least in part a confused attempt to deal with the fact that children are now accessing all manner of dubious or harmful material on the internet.
Accordingly, this publication warns that the sex and bodies in pornography ‘are mostly unrealistic’, and that such material may involve coercing participants into performing sex acts. But it also suggests showing such images to children at age 14. Moreover, it states they might find some of the positions in such porn films ‘helpful’, while being made aware that ‘the so-called pleasure’ they see ‘may be anything but’.
So schoolchildren are to be taught sexual positions from pornography — with a pious health warning that they may not get much pleasure out of them! Pinch yourself — we’re talking 14-year-olds here. Whatever happened to childhood innocence? Whatever happened to teaching? more here: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/article-2316264/MELANIE-PHILLIPS-What-kind-society-treats-smacking-war-crime–teaching-children-watch-porn.html

Personally, I don’t see what’s wrong with Bob Beckel’s suggestion about a hiatus on Muslim students entering this country until we get a handle on who is here and who has overstayed. This, of course, would run counter to Obama’s dismantling of our entry-exist system.
“The concept of a national security entry-exit screening database is at least 10 years old. It’s an idea that was sabotaged by the progressive soft-on-security ideologues…”

I agree with Canto28, Beckel did not call for a permanent halt on Muslim students but instead said there were so many, with the government for the most part having no idea where many of them were, what they might be up to, that it was imperative we quit admitting them until we got control of those who have overstayed their student visas, were in violation of the terms of the student visas, and those involved in jihad activities in our country, get those out of here who should not be here or are in violation of the terms of their student visas, who trying to undermine our government, and then in the future, be much more careful in screening and monitoring those who we would allow to enter the country. Beckel now and then thinks a bit more clearly and open mindedly than most liberals, and I agree with him on this stance.
BTW, Ms Geller, I strongly admire your work and bravery, and wish you the best and more success and hope more people will begin to realize what you have been saying and working for is for the good of our beloved country. I wish you the continued protection of God, He does protect those who do His work for and with Him. God bless you. – gena

What a difference a bomb makes?
Is that what it takes for the truth to sink in? (Obviously dim Rob hasn’t quite got the message yet. And I can infer from his shallow posturing that as long as the slaughter, de-limbing and general carnage incurred during these homicidal acts hasn’t impacted upon him, all is well in his fluffy, fake world ).
This is CAIR and ISNA and the hundreds of other MB front’s nightmare. They can condemn AQ and the rest quite honestly because theirs isn’t the correct MO. All it does is stir up America to the reality of Islam and that wouldn’t do at all.
But ever noticed that even so, they’re pretty quick off the mark.
Following the desultry boiler-plate condolences and before the ash has settled, off they go into victim mode and soon the episode takes second place to some imaginary outrage against Muslim and the whining begins.
It, of course then travels up a few notches in pecking orders until Hussein himself throws in his two penneth and thus the prophet of Islam can rest easily in his grave that on orders from no less than the POTUS his name will never be slandered.

Oh, go read some real history. I really, really don’t need Pamela Gellar to fear islamic encroachment. This isn’t ‘scare mongering’, just a wake up call to people who are very much in danger of death, dismemberment, rape and torture-which is what the moslems do at any opportunity-and the ones that do not-the ‘moderates’ don’t exactly disapprove of their ‘brother’s’ activities. And, what do you think a ‘zionist’ is, anyway? Are you just accepting the moslem viewpoint, or are you actually looking at who the jews and Israelis are and what they actually do? It’s just easier to buy into the lies of a fictional ‘nationality’, the so-called Palestinians, instead of educating yourself to historical fact? Educate yourself, you would be truly shocked at the lies you have swallowed.
She is doing good, and has my full support.

Actually Watcher87, it doesn’t require much more than a high school education and a modest amount of critical observation of Geller’s writing and recorded interviews to see a significant amount of truth in What Rob said.
PG repeatedly uses the tactics of over-generalization, hyperbole, and unsubstantiated personal speculation woven within other more solidly grounded facts in order to craft a message that implies something very different from the meaning that would emerge from a dispassionate reading of the facts alone.
Her blogging style which is characterized by consistently parroting the ideas of others, while injecting an additional emotional and egocentric perspective, serves to establish a superficial cult of personality. This technique can create, and constantly reinforce a logical error on the part of many readers as they defer to her appearance of authority, rather than trusting in their own judgment when looking for the truth in things.
This cult of personality is further reinforced by the implicit sanction given to her tactics by the willing association of a more solidly rational and intellectual scholar, Robert Spencer. Geller’s prestige is obviously enhanced by this association. Unfortunately, Geller’s trite and shrewish tactics, only serve to preemptively bring Spencer’s own work into question for those who have never read any of his work, and that is a very unfortunate consequence.
Even though Geller may have important ideas in her grasp that could potentially be of value, she squanders much of that potential with her shrill and shrewish behavior. The sum effect of her tactics on people with an eye toward objective truth is to simply roll his or her eyes in the presence of an undisciplined thinker and walk away. There are so many important and interesting voices in the world, why would someone waste time on this one?

Nice try at a pseudo-academic analysis, but unfortunately not too factual. Actually more an orgy of your own beliefs and opinions. Which you are entitled to, of course, but if you want to convince anybody you should reinforce your opinions with verifiable facts.
You don’t, and hence one can’t take your remarks seriously. Oh, remarkable, don’t you think, that the “more solidly rational and intellectual scholar Robert Spencer” doesn’t notice any of this and not only allows but even wholeheartedly endorses this association?
Weak arguments, my friend. But nice try.

I’ll indulge you this one time IFL. Here are some excerpts From a random video I picked off YouTube of Pamela Geller giving a talk to a Tea Party meeting in Fort Lauderdale. If you think I’ve taken these out of context in order to distort them, I welcome you to locate the video and watch it yourself.
“The Times Square Bomber, who only by the — by God’s grace did not get that bomb off in Times square. And I don’t know if you’ve ever been to Time’s Square on a Saturday night, there are – it would’ve dwarfed 911”
First, this is a pretty incoherent statement, but following as much as one can, the implication is so wildly out of touch with the actual structure of the bomb itself this can only be seen as hyperbole. Would there have been tragic loss of life and significant damage to property had the bomb gone off? Certainly. Would the event have dwarfed the events of 911? Not in one’s wildest imagination.
“The media is no longer in any responsible fashion, a news gathering organization. At all. They are the enemy. I’m telling you this. Not hyperbole, ok? This is truth. These are concretes. They are the activist arm of the “Uber Left”. They are the propaganda arm the left wing, who has aligned itself with Islamic supremacists.”
She condemns “The Media” without specifying which media and therefore implies that all media everywhere is “the enemy”, and then in the same breath declares that this is NOT hyperbole and that this is truthful. Well perhaps in her own mind she has set up this undefined floating abstraction called “The Media” as her own personal enemy, but the implication that comes through loud and clear throughout her talk is that “the media” (whatever this is) is everyone’s enemy. That’s either a paranoid delusion, or clever propaganda, but certainly not something that can be proven as true.
And then there is this odd comment made without any significant context:
“They’re [Islamic militants] killing gay — hanging them in the public square, on cherry pickers. No group is as abused in Islam.”

“They’re [Islamic militants] killing gay — hanging them in the public square, on cherry pickers. No group is as abused in Islam.”
No other group? How about Christians? How about Jews? Again with the sloppy generalization that isn’t even close to reality.
“…And for the first time in history you had a president, President Obama, co-sponsor a bill, with Egypt to restrict free speech.”
Sloppy rhetoric. The only document that this statement can reasonably refer to is UNC Resolution 16/18. It’s not a “bill”, nor in any way a piece of legislation in any body of United States law, (as is implied by the context from which this statement emerged in her talk, when she discusses a particularly stupid piece of legislation passed in Tennessee banning offensive photos on the internet). As to the claim that this UN resolution restricts free speech, that is a myth that is contradicted here: http://www.humanrightsfirst.org/2011/12/20/the-u-s-is-not-opening-the-door-to-limiting-freedom-of-speech/
This Resolution has a far more complex and nuanced meaning that deserves integral consideration, rather than a superficial reading, and an associated condemnation based on lazy thinking.
Lastly, this peculiar observation.
“And yet it’s people like me that are marginalized and discredited and called all kinds of names because we tell the truth.” Truth is the new hate speech. And just telling the truth is a radical act.”
Actually, a person who, over-generalizes, creates false contexts as tools of persuasion, and attempts to leverage a listener’s emotions in order to over-ride their reason is not in the truth telling business.
As for Robert Spencer, of course he endorses this association. I said as much. What I question is HIS motivation because hers is obvious. His body of work is scholarly and generally very reasonable, yet he allies himself with someone who obviously believes that truth is subjective and malleable and doesn’t need a concrete referent.
Why would he willingly do that?

Renlad the use of rhetorical devices in expressing a opinion does not make that person’s writing or speech in of itself untruthful nor and your rush to condemn Pam writings and speech for the mere use hyberbole is a bit hasty. If you want facts without all that rhetoric then go read a textbook…but I am even learning some textbooks when it comes Islam are false; such was the case I found in University of Phoenix on-line Ethics Diversity Class book which stated “Islam is a religion just like Christianity.” Teaching direct lies as educationally true in textbooks in schools is far more dangerous and poisonous than any sheer rhetoric.
