Mark Steyn on CPAC’s Gellerphobia: “I wish there were more with her spirit” #StandwithPamelaGeller

12

Huge thanks to the uniquely brave and brilliant Mark Steyn for his piece over at NRO (yes, NRO) in support of my work:

CPAC Tentwatch By Mark Steyn

Jonah Goldberg, Mark Krikorian and NR’s editors have written here about CPAC’s decision to exclude Chris Christie, GOProud, and those who believe in enforcing the nation’s immigration laws.
I know nothing about the organization’s internal machinations, but the
latest expulsion I take personally. On the only occasion I’ve ever
spoken at CPAC, I had the honor of being introduced by Pamela Geller.
Back then, some fellows were trying to rule her beyond the pale and
leaning on me to get her kicked off the much coveted (ha!) Steyn-intro
spot. I told ‘em to take a hike: She’s a fearless fighter on free speech
and other issues, and I wish there were more with her spirit. Yet five
years on it seems she too is unacceptable to CPAC:

For the last four years, Pamela Geller of AtlasShrugs.com and the
American Freedom Defense Initiative have held events at CPAC featuring
guests she invites to discuss the influence of Islamism on America. But
this year, the American Conservative Union (ACU) has no room for Geller
or her message…

Story continues below advertisement

In years past, the events were standing room only thanks to their
popularity, but that apparently was not enough to counter pressure
brought to bear from somewhere to exclude Geller’s message.

After the fiasco of last November, it’s appropriate for the American
right to consider new strategies. Narrowing the message, restricting the
debate and enforcing conformity doesn’t seem an obvious winner.

Mark Steyn joins the many others – all the best people who have come out in support of Pamela! Heroine Pamela must be heard!
CPAC is absolutely despicable and is clearly COMPLETELY anti-freedom and anti-America.

A conservative group excluding other conservatives! The only group that wins here are the liberals and of course Obama. What a bunch of useless idiots.

Just speaking the truth about Islam makes one into a virtual hero. What have we come to?

Grover Norquist’s LOYALTIES are NOT to the United States of America, but to the INTERNATIONAL Islamic Jihad.
Norquist is a dictionary definition of “Agent of Influence”.
The BATTLE with Norquist& Co. for the FUTURE of the GOP is upon us and if,GOD FORBID ,the PATRIOTS don’t best him ,the GOP will be the LEFTY Democrats’Jihad Enabling PARTNERS.

Ah, the battle (on THIS – the pisslamic – front!) has begun. All of this helps to delineate exactly WHO are our enemies – on “our side, no less! We already know who the treasonous bastards on the Left are; but now we’re flushing our (and that’s SUCH an apt/appropriate word, too!)the wobblies, the faint-of-heart, the traitors – and, yes, of course, the jihadists, even among our own ranks, who are setting themselves up for a very big FAIL, but only alerting US to their imminent danger! Maybe God continue to bless & protect American & Israel…

Well,I love her and I appreciate her because she has more brass than a lot of men I know. But, more than that, we need her.I am ashamed as a man, that I have not done anything comparable to her. Please keep on doing what your doing.

On previous occasions, I have encouraged my students to attend CPAC — specifically any event that Pamela hosted.
Obviously, I won’t be making the recommendation to my students this year.

Pamela Geller is the voice of truth here.
The infiltration by Islam’s stealth influence jihad is the point.
And I say the future MUST NOT belong to those who slander the truth or its messengers.

Yes indeedy, Pamela! Speaking the truth is freedom of speech. It is funny how it always generates opposition because the other speech is also allowed, as it should be. The other side continues to try to silence the sound of freedom. They ARE winning.
Too bad you can’t see through to attack their flanks instead of always having the frontal assault. If you were campaigning to deny ANY aid or visas to places like Egypt or the crucifying Saudis they’d have to fight the State Department to get their Billions(!) or F-16’s. I would simply love to see SOS Kerry defending the Constitution to deny aid to Egypt while encouraging free trade to improve their lot.
So.. while I admire your frontal assaults in defense of our First Amendment, that POLICY is not forcing the government to changes it’s processes. Forcing a process like denial of Visas and Aid would force the State Department to comment. They ban travel t Cuba but encourage travel to regimes that are just as scary. Why?
