Saturday Night Cinema: Stella Dallas

3

Tonight's Saturday Night Cinema is Stella Dallas, produced by Sam Goldwyn and starring Barbara Stanwyck. This second film version of Olive Higgins
Prouty's Stella Dallas is by far the best. The combined talents of
Goldwyn, director King Vidor and star Barbara Stanwyck lift this
property far above the level of mere soap opera.

Stanwyck's heartbreaking performance as the self-sacrificing mother is brilliant.

Your contribution supports independent journalism

Please take a moment to consider this. Now, more than ever, people are reading Geller Report for news they won't get anywhere else. But advertising revenues have all but disappeared. Google Adsense is the online advertising monopoly and they have banned us. Social media giants like Facebook and Twitter have blocked and shadow-banned our accounts. But we won't put up a paywall. Because never has the free world needed independent journalism more.

Everyone who reads our reporting knows the Geller Report covers the news the media won't. We cannot do our ground-breaking report without your support. We must continue to report on the global jihad and the left's war on freedom. Our readers’ contributions make that possible.

Geller Report's independent, investigative journalism takes a lot of time, money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe our work is critical in the fight for freedom and because it is your fight, too.

I’m on a Mexican Radio by Wall of Voodoo
I feel a hot wind on my shoulder
And the touch of a world that is older
I turn the switch and check the number
I leave it on when in bed I slumber
I hear the rhythms of the music
I buy the product and never use it
I hear the talking of the DJ
Can’t understand just what does he say?
I’m on a mexican radio. I’m on a Mexican – whoah – radio
I dial it in and tune the station
They talk about the U.S. inflation
I understand just a little
No comprende, it’s a riddle
I’m on a mexican radio. I’m on a Mexican, whoa-Oh, radio
I’m on a mexican radio. I’m on a Mexican, whoa-Oh, radio
I wish I was in Tijuana
Eating barbequed iguana
I’d take requests on the telephone
I’m on a wavelength far from home
I feel a hot wind on my shoulder
I dial it in from south of the border
I hear the talking of the DJ
Can’t understand just what does he say?
I’m on a mexican radio. I’m on a Mexican, whoa-Oh, radio
I’m on a mexican radio. I’m on a Mexican, whoa-Oh, radio
Radio radio… Radio radio… Radio radio…
I’m on a mexican radio. I’m on a Mexican, whoa-Oh, radio
I’m on a mexican radio. I’m on a Mexican, whoa-Oh, radio
Radio radio… What does he say ?
