Chicago AFDI Bus ads: Obama’s pro-jihad Jews come against pro-Israel ad

28

Our anti-jihad ads calling for support of persecuted minorities living under the Sharia went up on buses in Chicago today. As if on cue, dhimmi Jews in Obama's old stomping ground did the step 'n fetchit for Islamic supremacism. Taking their cue from the Jewish councils of Germany and the judenrat that sold out their own people, they immediately denounced the ads. Are we to extrapolate from this that these Jewish groups support the persecution of Christians in Egypt and Nigeria, Hindus in Pakistan, Bahais in Iran, and more? That's not a Jewish lesson I remember learning in my Talmud classes.

Asaf Bar-Tura, program director for the Jewish Council for Urban Affairs, sniveled: "This whole campaign insinuates that Muslims are violent." No, Mr. Bar-Tura. You are insinuating that all Muslims are violent. You are insinuating that all Muslims support jihad. My ads do no such thing. These Jewish "leaders" are failing not just the Jews in Israel, but all persecuted and oppressed people. Did we not learn our lesson from World War II? Did we not have to make amends for our gross negligence while millions were slaughtered?

Mr. Bar-Tura is a weak, feckless and dangerous tool. His position on my ads is an affront to tikkun olam. I expect Hamas-CAIR to denounce our ads. Their mission by objective is to advance Islamic supremacism, Sharia, and jihad. Of course they're going to oppose champions of freedom. It specifically states in the document from the Muslim Brotherhood project that groups like Hamas-CAIR use "media, money and men" to impose Sharia.

Story continues below advertisement

Of course, the notorious Manya Brachear is only too happy to subjugate herself in the cause of Islam. Hey, it's what she does. But the actions of traitors like Mr. Bar-Tura are unforgivable, and he will answer to a higher authority.

It is illustrative of the low state of the world that my ads are the issue, and not the oppression, subjugation and slaughter of non-Muslims under the Sharia. Notice that they don't quote any oppressed Copts, or Nigerian Christians, or Bahais, or any of the other groups that Muslims are persecuting and oppressing, for this article.

'Jihad' ads on CTA buses cause controversy" Chicago Tribune

Chi-jihad-ads-on-cta-buses-cause-controversy-2-001

Controversial ad on CTA bus
(Handout / November 14, 2012)

By Manya A. Brachear and Jon Hilkevitch
Tribune reporters

The controversial ads unveiled
on the back of 10 CTA buses Wednesday read, “In any war between the
civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man.” They conclude
with the words, “Support Copts. Defeat Jihad.”

Within hours of the buses' first runs, messages appeared on Facebook and Twitter denouncing the campaign.

Many said degrading a spiritual
tenet of Islam — one that refers to a Muslim's personal quest to become
a better person — amounts to hate speech.

Reliance of the Traveller, a manual of Islamic law certified by al-Azhar University in Cairo as a reliable guide to standard Sunni Islam, says this: "Jihad means to war against non-Muslims, and is
etymologically derived from the word mujahada signifying warfare to establish
the religion. And it is the lesser jihad. As for the greater jihad, it is
spiritual warfare against the lower self (nafs), which is why the Prophet
(Allah bless him and give him peace) said as he was returning from jihad." (o9.0)

Gullible Manya Brachear lets these Islamic supremacists tell her only about the "greater jihad," without ever mentioning the bloody warfare that is "lesser jihad."

“This whole
campaign insinuates Muslims are violent,”
said Asaf Bar-Tura, programs
director for the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs, which protested the
ads on social media Wednesday. “If it's within their legal powers, (CTA)
should either not put it up because they incite hate and stereotypical
thinking or put a label next to each sign saying `The CTA disagrees with
this ad.’ ”

So far, federal judges have
sided with the advertisement's sponsor, the American Freedom Defense
Initiative, which sued transit authorities in New York City and
Washington, D.C., when they initially rejected the ads. Those judges
ruled that public forums such as buses and trains can't bar advertising
entitled to First Amendment protection.

Pamela Geller, executive
director of the initiative, said she believes the Jewish Council has
good intentions, but denies that her ad qualifies as hate speech.

"There’s
nothing hateful about it," she said in an e-mail. "9/11 was hate. 3/11
in Madrid was hate. … The Christmas underwear bomber was hate. …
Pushing back against such hate is not hate."

"Perhaps this is the
strangest thing of all: their utter lack of awareness, or denial, of the
barrel pointed straight between their eyes," Geller said. "It is an odd
combination of naivete, brainwashing and self-loathing that I will
never comprehend."

Although Geller posted on her blog "Atlas
Shrugs" a letter from her lawyer threatening legal action against CTA if
they didn’t place the ads, Brian Steele, a spokesman for the CTA,
denied that the CTA was threatened with a lawsuit. But the precedents
did deter the CTA from rejecting the ads, which are expected to run on
different routes each day for the next four weeks.

“While those
courts agreed that the AFDI ads violate anti-disparagement or
anti-demeaning standards similar to CTA's, that violation in and of
itself did not remove AFDI's First Amendment protection to place the
ads,” Steele said in a statement.

“CTA understands that this ad
may be offensive to our customers,” he added. “While the courts have
ruled this ad is a form of protected speech under the First Amendment,
we object to its divisive message.”

Meanwhile,
Ahmed Rehab, the executive director of the Chicago chapter of the
Council on American Islamic Relations, said the group expects to launch
its own nationwide ad campaign next week. As part of the campaign called
“My Jihad,” individual Muslims define what the spiritual concept means
for them.

“I don't feel the urge to fight … I'd rather put out the alternative,” Rehab said. “People can decide what racism is.”

Hamas-CAIR is kicking off a taqiyya campaign of disinformation on "jihad." First sharia and now jihad. As if we don't know what it means. Their problem is that we know only too well. Here are the five ads running in Chicago on the back of buses:

Jews are God’s people, but they have defied Him over and over again. Nevertheless, God is always there offering another chance. Many of them believe that intellect and faith cannot go hand in hand, and look down on those who believe. They will pay the price, and so shall we.

Muslims should preach that nonsense ‘jihad means internal struggle’ to muslims only.
Islam is a matter of concern ONLY because it offends other non-muslims.
We non-muslims have not taken the burden and contract of Jihad. We are not muslims and we are concerned only with the fruit of Islam. Muslims should give the clarifications to Osama Bin Laden and Allah. We are not bothered. We are not responsible.
Mr. Asaf Bar-Tura, a jew, knows Jihad more than a muslim!

I am a black atheist & I love your work. I’ve no special interest in Israel. I’m not Jewish. I’m not Christian. Israel is not special to me. There are many countries, besides Israel, under the threat of terror. The reason I support Israel is because what is going on in the Middle East is a microcosm of what’s going on in the world. Israeli culture is humane, fair and peaceful. Her enemies are the perpetrators of gross human rights violations on women, gays, even children. *This* is why an atheist black American cares about Israel. This is why everyone should. When people package a pro-Israeli stance as a ‘Jewish thing’ or they try to make like Israel is one of the United States, they needlessly alienate folks who already have a good reason to support her. I’m driven to convince the world that this isn’t a liberal/conservative thing. This isn’t a Jewish thing. AIPAC conventions should have as many (if not more) non-Jews as Jews supporting it. This is about survival of civil, humane culture for everyone around the world. Israel is simply the front line. I matters not if it’s Israel or Italy. If you think Israel’s cause is more important to Jews, or that Jews should be more concerned, I respectfully disagree. I just happened to value my life, freedom & lifestyle every bit as much as you. So, please. Keep doing what you do, Ms. Geller. Respectfully, Mike

Non-muslims of kinds like Asaf Bar-Tura know about other religions more than their own religion!!!
I am an Indian hindu and India is overwhelmed with pests like these.
Before a muslim gets a chance to defend Islam, some hindu will take up the burden to defend jihad and Islam. However, they don’t know anything about their own religion and nobody asks them.
Pests like them are there in every non-islamic religion. They stand up for Islam when they know nothing about their own. Like I care and it is my job to care for Islam when Islam entered India illegally and occupied it for 1000 years!!!
Pests like them are neither believers in their own religion nor atheists.

Pests like them are not only don’t believe in their own religion but also not an atheist or a humanist.
If they stand up for humanism, they would oppose not only Jihad but the entire cult of Islam.

Asaf Bar-Tura is not
– a jew believer
– atheist
– humanist
What is he?
– an Islamic taqqiya player
People like him are SO retarded that they get neither the fruits of Islam (being a jew) nor the fruits of any other kind of ideologies.
People like him are just anti-humanity. PURE EVIL. More evil than Mohammed, founder of Islam, himself.

I think the Chicago group is dealing with Islam on a neighborhood basis, as a local issue, trying to build a more harmonious community between two different groups. It’s more about providing economic assistance to poor areas.
Do they care about the larger problem of Islamic ideology and Islam as a totalitarian political system? I doubt they have any idea, they’re clueless. They certainly wouldn’t get that understanding of Islam from the ads — they just see them as a threat to their goal of peaceful coexistence in Chicago.
Interesting side note: a member of the board of the Jewish Council on Urban Affairs is Rabbi Capers Funnye, Vice President, who is a second cousin to Michelle Obama.

The clarity of your message on this piece is heartening to read Pam, and yet so fresh. I find just what you find – complete ignorance of the scope, nature, reasons for and depth of the Jihad imperative being waged against us.
This proposed mega mosque in Newham East London featured on Gatestone has set one person against another. A link on the article allows you to read the notes of support, many of them “formula” letters just signed. Can you do a piece on the group behind this monster, the biggest in Europe?

Dear Pamela, As a Hindu I want to thank you for including Hindus in your ad. So many people ignore the millions of Hindus killed by Muslims in the name of Islam. We, too in India and the diaspora, have left wing Hindu useful idiots who know very little about their own history and fetch water for the islamists. Please do not be disheartened by these leftist Jews. The left and Islam are both fascist, statist ideologists. The Black atheist is wrong. We see the left cosying up to Islam far more due to their statist tendencies. Statism is be definition group=think, against individual freedoms, etc.

“I don’t feel the urge to fight … I’d rather put out the alternative,” Rehab said. “People can decide what racism is.”
What race are you Ahmed Rehab? Are you of the Muslim race? Are you a descendant of the barbarous horde of Arab Muslim’s that burst out of Arabia slaughtering, or converting, everyone in their path? Arabs are a race, but not all Arabs are Muslim’s. It’s not “racism” It’s about a deadly cult that has far too many ignorant people stuck on stupid.

“Many said degrading a spiritual tenet of Islam — one that refers to a Muslim’s personal quest to become a better person — amounts to hate speech.”
“Many said”- I don’t give a flying f*kc what “many said”.
“Spiritual tenet of Islam?”
There is no such thing. There is no spiritual thing in Islam. Islam is carnal, not spiritual.
Jihad is not a “personal quest to become a better person{“- it is a quest to become a better MUSLIM.
BIG difference!

An excellent post, Pamela. People like Mr Bar-Tura should worry less about what they think AFDI’s ad insinuates and more about what it actually says, even if it is alarmingly blunt language.
I’d like to thank mike and msblue for thoughtful responses from members of communities that I would imagine tend not to frequent atlasshrugs2000. Responses like yours that make this a more interesting site.

I see people taking about their ascendents… like if they had lived their lives.
Times evolved. Concepts changed. Traditions are good but if you are still making your decisions by what you THINK others did, you are inexorably biased.
You lost. They lost. No need to count bodies.
Lost is generalized. What we do from now is what really matters
Again: stop bringing this war and lies to my doorstep. If you want a war, go kill yourself somewhere else. Quit the turbans and kippahs… try a cap or a cowboy hat… if you want to be in America, start behaving like the people that LIVE HERE! Mix. Be tolerant and this BS might just vanish in thin air.

Hi Pamela, I respect what your work is trying to do, but as a Copt, I find these ads do nothing to protect or serve Copts but instead are publicizing a persecuted minority and will, if anything, cause increased persecution. I don’t think these ads are at all sensitive to how people in the middle east will respond to them. I don’t know your history and background, but being someone of egyptian heritage and descent, the mindset in the middle east isn’t as ‘sophisticated’ as you’d like to believe. While this will get a few ‘hell ya’ responses from people sitting comfortably here in the west, it will get a lot of ‘I wish you didn’t, thanks a lot (sarcastically)’ from those affected by the results once these spread and are shared on the social networks of anti-Copt, Israeli, Hindu, Soldier groups (i.e. extremists and even some moderate muslims).
A wise man once said, “if you want to get somewhere different, you have to do something different” so just repeating the mistakes of your predecessors (offending muslims by calling them and their jihad uncivilized – even if you don’t think it comes off that way) will just cause more hatred toward the groups mentioned (Copts, Jews/Israelis, Hindus, Soldiers, etc) from those you call ‘uncivilized.’

No Muslim has ever achieved inner, or outer purity by the means of inner struggle jihad…So what does inner struggle jihad consist of? Is it a form of thinking about how to rise above your lower self and become a better person? Thinking is discouraged in Islam…Is it meditation? No Muslims are not Hindu’s. Is it intense prayer? No, Muslims already do that 5 times a day…It would seem then, that inner struggle jihad is a meaning with no method, rendering it meaningless…The only real jihad are those of legitimate self defense or naked aggression to spread Islam…The second is the most important to Allah…

Fady, we need to preserve our freedoms here in the USA. We adore free speech and until these Muslimes came to our country by the camel load, we didn’t need to think twice.
We don’t want to get to where you are right now. We aren’t there because Pamela and Robert know what this battle if for. It is to keep America from being in your shoes.
What other people do outside the USA is not a rational reason to stop fighting the battle with the biggest sword here. Words have meaning, they are supposed to sting when intended for that purpose and they can also be very gentle when it’s meant for that purpose.
We Americans rally behind Pamela, not because we want anything to happen to your state of affairs a globe away. It’s because we do not want that state of affairs here in this country. We are sitting at the cusp of such a state of affairs and to wage this battle by using different wording is like rolling over on our backs and showing our bellies like my dog does to me as his master.
Not going to happen.

Obama’s pro-jihad policy in the Middle East is on the threshold of full fruition right now as we wait to see if the new Islamic Egypt joins Hamas and Hezbollah in a war against Israel. If so, then we’ll wait to see what Obama decides the United States will do about a three-front war against Israel, which he has referred to as “one of our oldest allies in the region.” Israel is our oldest, most trusted and most important ally in the region.
We need — as John McCain called for — a full investigative committee assigned to Benghazi, IN ADDITION TO an investigation of Obama’s entire first term to identify it’s catalytic initiative and support for the so-called “Arab Spring” (haha! what a joke.) itself.

As a Roman Catholic Italo-American here in Chi town, I want to say G*d bless you Ms. Geller for remembering the Copts and other Christians who are at this very moment being imprisoned, or harrassed or even killed for the Christian Faith. You have more guts than a lot of our sissified priests in this country who won’t even allow Assyrian Christians and other mid-east Chritians to speak in their Church halls about what is going on.
You get people arguing and talking and maybe, THINKING about what TRUE tolerance and TRUE freedom of religion would look like! I thank G*d for you and Mr. Spencer.

Allow me to say simply that you are the most bigoted, racist person I have ever known. This entire blog post is hateful and completely slanders the name of those people whose own ancestors were killed in the war. What right do you have to call them the betrayers of their own people? You’re the real Nazi here, spreading your own opinions as if they were facts about another race of people. NO. I will NEVER support your ad campaigns. You may have a legal right to have a voice, but that doesn’t make what you way in any way correct or moral. You’re a selfish bigot and I cannot stand what you do.
I know I’ve also spoken strongly and with hatred, which hardly justifies me. But you are the first person I have felt that certainly deserves to hear it.
