DC City Newspaper: “New 9/11 Ads Headed to Metro”

32

And the spin begins. It's not a 911 ad, but this picture is easily the most identifiable instance of jihad in the American mind.

"New 9/11 Ads Headed to Metro" Washington City Paper, Will Sommer on Oct. 16, 2012 (hat tip anti-cair)

The cycle spawned by the Muslim savage ads on the Metro is about to get even more incendiary. The American Freedom Defense Initiative, the group behind the original ads, wants to launch a whole new ad campaign, this time with evocative images of the Twin Towers.

Story continues below advertisement

Answeradcaia6r one line text

The new ad, which uses a menacing quote from the Quran, is inspired by the Council on American-Islamic Relations' counter-campaign against AFDI's original ads. The CAIR ad, which features a girl in a hijab, uses a decidedly less ominous Quran quote: "Show forgiveness, speak for justice and avoid the ignorant."

"Citing the quran, are we?" responded AFDI co-founder Pamela Geller on her blog yesterday. "I think that's a grand idea."

Geller asked her readers for Quran verse suggestions, and the above verse was chosen to be the first in a series to be submitted to Metro. AFDI could publish all the jihad- and sharia-themed verses in the book eventually, according to its co-founder.

"Yes, this will go on for years," Geller writes.

The Holy Quran can only be understood correctly in the original Arabic. Some of the sacred meaning is inevitably lost in translation.
So the sentence ‘Soon we shall cast terror into the hearts of the unbelievers’ is a misleadingly literal translation. It is actually a colloqial seventh century Arabic expression whose real meaning is ‘Invite the local rabbi and pastor round for afternoon tea’.

If, according to the leftist media, the anti-jihad ads are “controversial”, what are the new ‘quran quotes’ ads? If they media claim they are controversial/racist/anti-muslim/hateful etc. ad nauseam, they will inadvertently criticize the quran, which would be islamophobic! Gasp!
I will be interesting to see how they will try to spin this one.

I must confess that I didn’t really like the “Savage” ads very much.
However, I am absolutely DELIGHTED by the 3:151 ad!
It is actually beautiful in a way. Maybe some people will find that a strange comment but I’m telling the truth, it actually seems beautiful to me! It delivers its message with a beautiful simplicity. I love it!
Why quote Ayn Rand when we have the Qur’an to quote? This is the way to go. Show Islam, the Qur’an and Muhammad for what they are, with their own words.

Najis Kafir: I’m reading the original Arabic with tea. Does that count? Literally “We will put into the hearts of those who disbelieve, terror, for what they ascribe to Allah”
The literal word order is different, but the meaning is the same.

And as their plan calls for defeating us by our own hands, Pamela,Robert, and AFDI have just given them “their own medicine”.
They CAN’T complain because its THEIR Koran and CAIR’s action to use it.
What’s really cool is that IF they vandalize any of the new AFDI posters ,they WILL BE DESECRATING THE KORAN.
Pamela & Robert have them BOXED IN.
THIS STRATEGY IS A WINNER.

@Najis Kafir, that is FUNNY as heck! Maybe that’s how the fake Christian and Jewish dhimmis translate it! Either that or they are as dumb as a box of rocks.

And this will lead people to ask, “Both come from the same book? How can that be true?” Which will lead to an explanation of the Medina period and the Meccan period. Which in turn will lead to the question, “But which verse is to be believed?”
Then when Muslims explain that both the soft verses and the hard verses are true simultaneously, people will really get confused with this Islam business.
Interesting times, they be a’coming !!!

“The Holy Quran can only be understood correctly in the original Arabic. Some of the sacred meaning is inevitably lost in translation.”
Really? If so, then Majority of Muslims who are not Arabs must be living in a dark not knowing what they reading as they also rely on translations. Pretty bold statement, Najis.
And of course, you Muslims are absolutely free in your criticism of the Bible and Christianity without knowing a word of Hebrew, Aramaic or Greek.

Staten, I think you missed the tongue in cheek humor in Najis’ comment if you didn’t read the whole thing. It was funny and provided a laugh we all need once in a while.

Fantastic. The irony, the paradox CAIR finds themselves in. Here they are saying ‘See, how beautiful the Koran is, Muslims are beautiful people!’ Then how do you explain such a hateful verse? They fell into the trap, let them broil in the midday sun. Too funny.

Hey Pam,
Why not add “Why Jihadist kill unbelievers/Infidels ?”
Or …….”Why jihadists are driven to kill unbelievers/infidels”
Then the verse below as the answer.
———————–
These ads with question will make the dhimmis / liberals & the question will make them think about and lead them to connect the dots.
Okay , I agree, most have been taqiyaad for so long its a uphill task…..but even if we can get 5% a year to think and connect the qoran to the jihadists its worth the effort.
We know the qoran , the abrogation etc …..most liberals/leftists
don’t have a clue.
Just the verse with graphics is only half as effective in making the
dhimmis think and connect the dots.
Adding a question is like letting loose a virus that makes them think
and the jihadi supporters heads explode.
Do you have anything against it ?

What about pointing out that CAIR, et al. are unindicted coconspirators in a federal terrorism funding case and tied to the Muslim Brotherhood, whose stated goal is to bring down Western Civilization from within?
That might make the media a little less eager to go to them for soundbites.

This Quran-quoting strategy with a jihadi backdrop is truly inspirational work. Absolutely the best thing I have ever seen contrasting the values of our civil society with their caliphate vision.

Sura 9:29 is the obvious choice and the one with arguably the greatest historical significance.
But I’m also in favor of signs which show the Koran as a scientific disaster, a product of 7th century ignorance of Astronomy in particular:

Hi Pamela, I’m just checkin my free Yousef Ali koran I got from
Islamicity some years ago–I like this one: 2:216 Fighting is prescribed for you, and you dislike it. But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and that you love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knows, and you know not.
I have many passages marked and ready.

“Staten, I think you missed the tongue in cheek humor in Najis’ comment if you didn’t read the whole thing. It was funny and provided a laugh we all need once in a while.”
Perhaps I missed . But it is so common to hear two arguments from Muslims and apologists of Islam that the Koran can be completely understood only in Arabic and that “you have quoted out of context.” What so laughable is that these illiterate, primitive Muslim beasts migrating to some of the most intellectually and technologically advanced nations in the world attempt to pass Islam off as something so “complicated” that only they can interpret it accurately.

Pam, I would like to get a Tee and a couple of bumper stickers like this, but I think you should have “RELIGION OF PEACE?” In big letters over the quote, otherwise my windows might get shot out.
Next one should show a picture of the Pentagon on 911 to keep the continuity. I recommend the one about “fight the unbelievers”, 9:123.

Grouchy posted: “Why quote Ayn Rand when we have the Qur’an to quote? This is the way to go. Show Islam, the Qur’an and Muhammad for what they are, with their own words.”
Amen, certainly my practice, has been for years: open the “Sacred Texts,” let the words and narrations on those pages rise from there and speak for themselves. Add nothing to them; take nothing from them.
