The
Fashionable New Cowardice

By Robert Spencer

Without anyone really noticing, cowardice has overtaken the
American public square, and is now widely retailed as if it were the sensible,
proper response to violent Muslim intimidation.

Story continues below advertisement

Last week Newsday ran an opinion piece about Pamela Geller’s
pro-freedom American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI) ad in the New York
subways: “Anti-jihad
ads in subway may be legal, but they lack street-smarts
,” by Joseph Dolman.
And how exactly did the ads lack “street smarts”? Dolman says of Geller: “As a
New Yorker who was present in Manhattan on 9/11, I can promise you, I don’t
like jihadists any more than she does.” Then he adds: “But is it really wise to
bait them? Right now? After what has happened in Egypt, Libya and Lower
Manhattan (more than once)?”

In other words, if Muslims react violently to something,
then the proper response of non-Muslims is not to stand up and condemn their
bloody madness, and resist it by all possible means, but to practice
self-censorship so as not to offend them.

Dolman is, unfortunately, not singular in his cowardice. He
is one of many dhimmi commentators who have recently counseled submission to
violent intimidation. Has everyone in the entire country forgotten that the
only one responsible for one's actions is oneself? Has the entire world lost
sight of the fact that if Muslims commit violence because of this ad or over any
other pretext, the fault and responsibility will be theirs and theirs alone?

Joseph Dolman wants us to be silent, submissive slaves lest
we anger our Muslim masters. What is even
IMG_1479worse is that Newsday prints this
suicidal nonsense.

Then on Sunday, Pamela Geller appeared on ABC’s Up Close
with the Leftist evangelical Christian leader, the Rev. Jim Wallis of
Sojournors. Wallis, after retailing the usual false charges that the AFDI ad
promotes “hate,” claimed that people might get hurt because of Geller's ad, and
repeatedly said to her: “Please stop talking.”

Note how thoroughly Wallis has absorbed the dhimmi mindset:
he assumes that if Muslims become violent, it is the fault of non-Muslims, who
must adjust their behavior in order to placate them.

The host showed that he held the same assumptions when he
asked Geller why she was throwing a match into a powder keg. It didn't seem to
occur either to him or to Wallis that the only people responsible for the
actions of violent Muslims are the violent Muslims who commit them.

In response, Pamela Geller patiently explained to these
cringing dhimmis some elementary principles of the freedom of speech and the
necessity not to kowtow to violent intimidation. She skewered their tolerance
of evil and eagerness to adopt dhimmi self-censorship to save their miserable
skins.

Her performance was brilliant, but it was a shame that it
all had to be done. More and more people in the public square are demonstrating
an inability to grasp basic concepts regarding free speech and the responsibility
for violent actions, and that bodes quite ill: the principle is being
reinforced that all Muslims or anyone else have to do in order to silence
speech that they don't like is start acting violently. Alan Dershowitz takes
apart this idea in an
excellent piece
about the MTA's new regulations, which state that ads will
be barred if people may react violently to them. Says Dershowitz: the new
regulation "incentivizes people to engage in violence. What it says to
people, is that if they don’t like ads, just engage in violence and then we’ll
take the ads down."

We have already begun the process of testing this
unconstitutional new regulation.

Pamela Geller will never stop talking. Nor will I. We will
never accept dhimmitude and submission. We will never bow to violent
intimidation. Joseph Dolman, Jim Wallis and other dhimmis ought to be deeply,
deeply ashamed of the stance they've taken: they have validated and encouraged
violence, hatred and oppression. If free people and free societies survive,
they will be looked upon as suicidal fools.

What a great well worded article. It states almost exactly what I keep attempting to say when ever I am called a racist regarding my views regarding islam and muslums in general. If the religion of peace wants to be seen in that light they must first clean house so that all people will not see the few extremist’s that tarnish their religion.
Thank you for this article.

Robert, it’s their sick but natural progression from “tolerance” and “Political correctness”(PC),towards “fashionable cowardice.”
In the world of “It takes a village” we as a society have allowed the infiltration of the liberal talking points, lib talk. It has entered our homes through our children, from public schools. Like good sheep, rather than think for yourself, our society has subscribed willingly to the lib talk.
Kids come home and reteach the family. Kids spend the greater part of their day in public school. Two parents out of the home and working, barely have enough time to feed the kids, take care of homework, sports and housechores, before bed.
The next day they wake up and do it all over again. Hillary’s book “It takes a village” has caused our society to allow the village to insert it’s values. And they did. Easily.
Tolerance and PC has pushed it’s way around our family values, it has taken over our thoughts, it has regulated our moral structure which we learned from decades upon decades of Judeo-Christian heritage. There is nothing wrong with that.
I am a proud Mother. I have raised very sensitive and productive children. I have never allowed the public school and the village people to brainwash my kids. I have not allowed what they watch on TV, change the way I have raised my children to be.
They understand and know that what they were spoon fed everyday, and what matches it from TV, News, and hollywood, is not what we embrace in our family.
When the system comes in and brainwashes our society by using the tool known as public school education and this spills into every other segment of our society, you get what you have coined more fashionable lib behavior…fashionable cowardice.
It’s follows the whole rest of the lib talk we have all been digesting since the days of Hillary and Bill and her “It takes a village” propaganda.
That chick raised one gosh darn kid, just one. What the heck does she know about raising a child? Ask my mother, she raised 12 of us.
Thanks for being Robert Spencer! You are a household word around this family structure. God Bless you!

I saw it at a huge EMT convention 2004ish in Syracuse, NY. Billions of dollars of anti-terror money was on the table for EMTs and police. But nobody at the entire convention would discuss jihad or Islam in any way without looking around in every direction first. What they expected to see I’m not really sure. Then they would attempt to change the subject to anything else.
TSA is a perfect example of this mindset. Constructed to harass everyone — especially the very young, old, and infirm — but lets the jihadis with bombs through 100% of the time.

Allies
Shrub, Obama and other analencephalopaths,
damned fools & traitors
describe certain Muslims as “allies” or “partners”. You can call
a turd a rose, you can sniff it and wear it on your lapel, but it will
still be a turd. You can call a rattlesnake a pet and play with
it, but sooner or later it will bite you. Call Muslims
“ally”, “friend” or “partner”, give them guns, and sooner or later one
of them
will shoot you.

I agree. This betrayal of our troops with respect to the lies our leaders feed our troops concerning Islam and the adherents to it has stood far too long, tall and proud on the Right and on the Left. To the shame and harm of this nation.
End this foolhardy embracing cumbersome stupidity of the illusion of a Moderate Islam and thus a practicing Moderate Muslim. How many more of our sons and daughters must die, be sent home maimed, as we seek and pursue the hope of finding the Moderate Islam and the corresponding Moderate adherent to it to save us from the so-called “extremist”?

New York City is pretty damn liberal. Try running the ads in more conservative cities and they will have a more positive response.

Crikey, has anyone read Mona Eltahawy’s tweets? Why is it she can’t string a sentence together without being so foul mouthed? Mouth like a sewer comes to mind. She lacks self control, she is crass and she cheapens herself by constantly using such foul language, and I am no prude.
In all the years I have followed Pamela and considering all the attacks and insults she has had to put up with, I don’t recall Pamela acting like Mona. Pamela has always had more decorum and self control.
Had to get that off my chest.

Profoundly grateful for the both of you, Pamela and Robert. May the examples you’ve set for us live in the hearts of free people, forever. And may the courage and hope you inspire grow in the hearts of ALL people – until the house of Islam crashes in on itself for lack of inhabitants.
Peace, Love and Death to Islam, y’all!

Fact: Here’s your choices; choose one:
1. Embrace Islam.
2. Acknowledge the supremacy of Islam. Continue to accept your due humiliation and continue to support our paying of jizyah to Islamic countries as we acknowledge this supremacy, pay them, that is, to, in brief, hold their fire and ire from us, to whatever degree our jizyah payments for such can buy.
3. Resist Islam. Reject it. Pay the price for doing so.
Basics on “kufr : disbelief … to reject Allah and refuse to believe that Muhammad is His Messenger.” (Glossary of Islamic Terms, Aisha Bewley, Ta-Ha Publishers, LTD, London, UK)
“Kufr: it is basically disbelief in any of the articles of Islamic Faith.” (Glossary, Sahih Al-Bukhari, Darussalam Publishers, Riyadh, KSA)
As you considered your best option, bear the following slivers of info in mind, should you choose to disbelieve the message of Islam and thus reject belief in Muhammad: A basic tenet of Islam, candidly spelled out by one of the most revered Scholars and commentators on Islam:

Kufr—taking anything declared unlawful by Allah Ta ‘ala as lawful is …kufr, a flat rejection of the faith itself. Similarly, taking something lawful to be unlawful is also kufr.
(Mariful Qur’an, by Maulana Mufti Muhammad Shafi, Revised by Justice Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usami, Vol. 4. pp362,63).

With respect to jizyah, this note:

Literally, jizyah means return or recompense. In the terminology of the Shari’ah, it refers to the amount of money taken from disbelievers in lieu of killing.
The reason is that kufr and shirk are rebellion against Allah and Rasul. Killing is the real punishment for it.” (ibid)

That is Islam, people. It is simply one of many a religion welcomed in this nation, thus, as long as it remains welcomed here, the adherents to it are free to practice all tenets of their faith, including that posted above.

Robert, you and Pamela are sane voices in the wilderness. We non-dhimmi’s SO appreciate all your hard work and efforts to educate and to fight for Freedom. One of my highlights of last summer’s trip to Israel was meeting you at the airport. You are not only brilliant and handsome, but funny. In these times, we all need to treasure the funny moments. May G-D bless.

FLASHBACK 2011: Campus Free Speech War @ U-Maryland
UPDATE 2012:

FLAME war
This past Wednesday, Facts and Logic About the Middle East, a San Francisco-based political organization, placed an advertisement in The Diamondback entitled, “The Myth of ‘Settlements.’” Like every other ad published by FLAME, it was inflammatory, argumentative and untruthful… I think it’s time Maryland Media, Inc. does the right thing and stops allowing the [FLAME] advertisements. Don’t you?

These discredited wacademic dhimmis are nothing, if not persistent.

First they apologise for those standing up for democracy. Second they attack us as racist. Third they become sharia compliant. We are now seeing westerners, lawyers, journalist and other forms of media, police, govt and even many Republicans such as McIdiot, becoming sharia complaint. Next step is we will be arrested and imprisoned for believing in democracy. Already happening in the UK. Lastly the sharia complaint liberals will be arrested for not being muslims and there you have it. But of course we will fight it out but it will be a bruiser I think.
