Media Alert: Pamela Geller on Dr. Drew discussing taxpayer-funded sex change op for convicted murderer serving life sentence

I will be on Dr. Drew this afternoon to discuss the outrageous ruling ordering Massachusetts prison officials to
provide sex-reassignment surgery to an inmate convicted of murdering his wife. Senator Scott Brown said Tuesday that the sex-reassignment surgery would be "an outrageous abuse of taxpayer dollars."

And Senator Brown is right. This coldblooded murderer can do what he wants — but not at taxpayer expense. 

It is not an established fact that gender reassignment is medically necessary on par with heart surgery or cancer treatment. And even if one grants that gender reassignment is medically necessary, Kosilek is a convicted murderer in prison. Prison involves a forfeiture of certain rights. One of them should be the right to soak the taxpayer for elective medical treatment.

Of course, CBS news leads with "praise."

(CBS/AP) BOSTON – A ruling ordering Massachusetts prison officials to
provide sex-reassignment surgery to an inmate is being praised by
advocates as important recognition that the surgery is a legitimate
treatment for gender-identity disorder, even as critics including Sen.
Scott Brown call it "an outrageous abuse of taxpayer dollars."

U.S.
District Judge Mark Wolf ruled Tuesday in the case of Michelle Kosilek,
a transgender inmate serving life in prison for murder. Wolf said the
Department of Correction must provide the taxpayer-funded surgery
because it is the only way to treat Kosilek's "serious medical need."

Kosilek
was born male but has received hormone treatments and now lives as a
woman in an all-male prison. Kosilek was named Robert when married to
Cheryl Kosilek and convicted of murdering her in 1990.

While
courts around the country have found that prisons must evaluate
transgender inmates to determine their health care needs, most have
ordered hormone treatments and psychotherapy. Wolf is the first judge to
actually order sex reassignment surgery as a remedy to gender-identity
disorder.

"It's great to see a judge recognize that
transition-related health care is medically necessary health care and
that transgender prisoners are entitled to the same health care that
other folks who are incarcerated receive," said Kristina Wertz, director
of policy and programs at the Transgender Law Center in San Francisco.

Kosilek's
lawsuit has become fodder for radio talk shows and Massachusetts
lawmakers who say the state should not be forced to pay for a convicted
murderer's sex-change operation – which can cost up to $20,000 –
especially since many insurance companies reject the surgery as
elective.

Republican lawmakers, including then Massachusetts
state Sen. Scott Brown, filed legislation in 2008 to ban the use of
taxpayer funds to pay for the surgery for prison inmates. The amendment
did not make it into law.

Now in the U.S. Senate, Brown said Tuesday that the sex-reassignment surgery would be "an outrageous abuse of taxpayer dollars."

"We
have many big challenges facing us as a nation, but nowhere among those
issues would I include providing sex change surgery to convicted
murderers," Brown said in a statement. "I look forward to common sense
prevailing and the ruling being overturned."

Diane Wiffin, a
spokeswoman for the prisons department, told The Associated Press that
the agency would have no immediate comment on the ruling.

"We are reviewing the decision and exploring our appellate options," Wiffin said.

Twilight Zone! Taxpayers having to fork out thousands of $’s for a evil soab man (who nearly severed his wifes neck when he murdered her), to have a sex change op. Evil monster. Only medical help he needs is one which will put him to sleep, permanently.
Murder victim’s family speaks out against husband’s taxpayer-funded sex change
BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) The family of murder victim Cheryl Kosilek is speaking out against the taxpayer-funded sex change operation recently awarded to the man who killed her by a Massachusetts judge.
Cheryl met her husband, Robert Kosilek, at a rehabilitation facility where she volunteered. Family members say Cheryl thoguth she could help Robert conquer his demons.
In May 1990, Cheryl arrived home to find Robert dressed in her clothes and a fight ensued.
Marlee Gomes, cheryl’s cousin, tells FOX 25 that Robert strangled Cheryl with a wire and attacked her until she was almost decapitated. He then drove her body to the Emerald Square Mall and left her in the car, naked. Robert reported her missing shortly after.
Robert is currently serving a life sentence and recently won a long battle to get a sex change paid for by the state.
“You don’t know what’s it’s like to know that your cousin was murdered like that and now he’s being treated like a God,” says Marlee Gomes.
For Marlee, her biggest problem with the verdict isn’t that taxpayers will be footing the estimated $20,000 bill for the surgery. She says it is more about the message the verdict sends to Kosilek and other people who want such a surgery or need a life saving surgery, but cannot afford it.
“What do they have to do? Go out and commit a crime to get the surgery that they absolutely need to have,” says Marlee.

[Timothy McCaul] said Kosilek cooked him a steak dinner and that the two of them talked about commonplace things. After dinner, he said, Kosilek became worried about his wife’s absence and began calling hospitals and police stations, McCaul said.
Later, he said, Kosilek told him that [Cheryl Kosilek] had gotten into an accident. Then, he said, Kosilek left to talk with detectives at the North Attleboro police station.
McCaul also testified that Kosilek had shaved off his beard on the day of the killing – the first time he had done so in a year. He said Kosilek had last shaved his beard when he entered a treatment program after Cheryl kicked him out of the house for drinking. http://tinyurl.com/bn6cq29

Or that prison dentists will be providing ‘prosthetic fangs’ for the Vampire minority in prison to use to feed on other inmates out of an urgent psychological need.

People ‘who have had the operation’ have unbelievably high rates of suicide, drug addiction, crime, violence, and it is almost the norm to engage in prostitution. One in ten OPENLY confessed they are sorry they had a sex change. (This probably means one in three are sorry because who the hell is going to confess they made THAT big a mistake). Yes, this is a really ‘compassionate’ use of our money.

Speaking of anecdotes, I once knew a guy who felt like a lesbian trapped in a man’s body, he was only attracted to lesbians. Imagine that challenge. Last I heard he went to live in France. True story!
Where I live the women inmates wear green pants and tops. They aren’t exactly exemplary of femininity, in fact they tend to be kind of dykie. So what ‘s the point? It’s just stupid and horribly insulting to the victim’s family.

I’m not even going to get into whether or not it is medically nessecary…. But I have major depression and anxiety issues which I can not get help for and struggle with greatly daily because I can’t afford to pay for treatment and I
make too much to get medical assistance ( even though after rent, bills, & taking care of my child I only have about $200 to buy things we need/save, & I by no means live lavishly or spend frivilously) yet the money I earn is taxed to pay for a murderer’s elective surgery!?!? I NEED medical help and am denied& I never have physically harmed anyone, so if I have to deal with my own medical problems so should he!

This is an outrageous abuse of taxpayer money! We have over 17 million Americans unable to eat everyday because they are so poor and unemployed. People are living in their homes with the water and electricity turned off. People are dying because they can’t afford their medications anymore because they have lost their insurance. Cars and homes are being repocessed every single day. Families are having to move in with other family members in over crowded living conditions. It is very hard on these poor people. This convicted killer has been well fed and sheltered and given hormone injections for years and years for his mental illness’s. He will never have to worry about finding a job or paying the rent or have the stress of taking care of a family. I am very sad about what this will lead too. Go to prison and get a free sex change on the American taxpayers. It is disgusting where this will lead in the future.
