Amazon sells Nazi death camp puzzle

Europe descends deeper into the abyss. While the Holocaust was a German initiative, it was carried out by every nation in Europe, save for the Danes.
There were Dutch Nazis, Polish Nazis; Europe as a continent decided it
was a good idea to get rid of the Jews. Holland had the highest rate of
collaboration with the Nazis, higher than any other country in Western
Europe. 95% of Dutch Jews were murdered.

Caroline Glick said in a conversation with me a couple of years ago that the lesson the Europeans took away from the aftermath of WW2
is insidious. "The lesson that Europe had decided to avail itself to in
the aftermath of Auschwitz, was not that evil is bad and that they
behaved like monsters but rather that everything was caused by
nationalism and therefore what we really need to do is have a European
Union that will obviate our need for nationalism so that we can become
this transnational gobbletygook and we'll all get together and therefore
we won't have another Auschwitz.

"But really the lesson should have
been is that we were evil and we have to be good. And that is the
lesson we have to learn and and we have to be able and willing to make
moral distinctions and stand up for the good and fight evil and that is
something the Europeans refuse to do."

Story continues below advertisement

Nationalism isn't bad. American nationalism wasn't bad, has never
been bad. British nationalism hasn't been bad. French nationalism isn't
bad. Polish nationalism isn't bed. Czech nationalism wasn't bad.

The thing that was bad was that Germany which decided to embrace
madness and evil as its central unifying characteristic under the Nazis.
That is what the problem was, it was not nationalism per se. And its
still not nationalism.

They took all the wrong lessons from WW2 and are applying them, while
ignoring the only lesson that's really relevant from WW2, which is that
you have to choose good and defend good and fight with the intention of
defeating evil.

It is any wonder that Europe is sinking under the weight of the EU?

"Amazon under fire over Nazi death camp puzzle" France 24 (thanks to Van)

Online retail giant Amazon has come under fire over the sale of a
jigsaw puzzle that recreates the crematorium at the Nazi death camp of
Dachau, a media report said Sunday.

AFP – Online retail giant Amazon has come under fire over
the sale of a jigsaw puzzle that recreates the crematorium at the Nazi
death camp of Dachau, a media report said Sunday.

"This is a real slap in the face for concentration camp survivors and
relatives of victims," conservative politician Gerda Hasselfeldt wrote
in a letter to Amazon that was cited by Der Spiegel.

The 252-piece puzzle, being sold for $24.99 or 17.99 British pounds
(about 20 euros), is sold as suitable for children aged eight and over.

It shows a picture of the crematorium at Dachau, where more than
200,000 Jews, gays, Roma, political opponents, the disabled and
prisoners of war were imprisoned during World War II.

Between 32,000 and 43,000 people died in the Bavarian camp before it was liberated by US troops in April 1945.

"The Dachau memorial is a place of remembrance for the suffering of
countless victims. It cannot be in Amazon's interest to sell such a
game," wrote Hasselfeldt, parliamentary chief of the Christian Social
Union of Bavaria, sister party of Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian
Democratic Union.

I think most Germans today recognize that it was evil. Germany isn’t an enemy

With the prevailing attitudes among the academic left, the Obama Administration, and the NYC MTA, I can see how Amazon may have figured it was no big deal. Jews and Christians are the groups everyone can offend without apology.
Coming soon to an online retailer near you, The Auschwitz Joke Book.

Caroline Glick has made a very important point, that the West didn’t get the symbolic message from WW2: that evil is real. This is an important psychological truth, that evil can’t be put aside by creating ‘progressive’ government institutions. After WW1 we didn’t get the message, after WW2 we didn’t get the message, and if we don’t (and we haven’t) get the message this time the next lesson will be even more brutal.

Four european countries Ireland, Spain, Switzeland and POrtugal never take part in second world war II and in others like France 85% of the jews have being save by the population. If caught the saviors of jews were at best send to concentration camps or killed.

I see the puzzle has been removed from Amazon (i.e., it doesn’t come up in searches).
Quite amazing that Amazon were actually selling this. It speaks volumes about a sick organisation.
Adjoran’s comment above is spot-on, and yes, “the next lesson will be even more brutal” than the preceding two WWs. Presumably, the Germans will be driving it again, like they did the last two. They’re nearly on the starting blocks already by the looks of this fiasco.

This article smacks of Jewish anti-European, in actual fact, anti-Christian pejudice. “While the Holocaust was a German initiative, it was carried out by every nation in Europe, save for the Danes. ” That’s right Pamela, make it seem as if all other nations approved of it. That was why we British went to war; that is why we helped stop the holocaust ? This is disgusting. I used to respect you, Pamela, but your true embittered self emerges in this report. Sad.

That should be the European continent; not all of Europe. The Brits fought the Nazis like lions! But it IS true that antisemitism is on the rise in Europe – I’ve seen it with my own eyes. Read the comments in newspapers: it’s horrific.

Disgraceful Amazon.
Makes me think there’s some level of badly misguided Muslim Arab-sympathizing behind this, as there seems to be in every quarter of our dangerously de-based and naively politicized society these days.
European Jews in the first half of the 20th Century were a vital, law-abiding, integral and cooperative part of the greater culture, whereas Muslim Arabs in this country and throughout Europe are criminals, sleeper-cells and angry violent protesters in the streets every time you turn around. In a word: A clear and present danger.
Americans need to grow up and take responsibility for who and what they care about before it’s too late.

re: Posted by: Betty Pierce “…it happened in 45 it can happen again…”
“It” already is happening. And “it” is happening in the United States. Tens of millions of Americans are been slaughtered in abortuaries, unabated since 1973. I am able and willing to make moral distinctions and stand up for the good of God-given life and fight the evil of child murder. There is no difference between a Dachau oven and a Planned Parenthood vacuum. Both have identical goals – kill the unwanted.

@Lord Al
In countries occupied by Germany in WW2, the local police or militia forces cooperated to some degree, under varying degrees of coercion, in the registration of Jews and their onward shipment to death camps.
In the tiny Channel Islands, not technically part of the UK but under the British Crown nonetheless, while occupied by Germany the island governments had a policy of passive co-operation.
Most Jews were evacuated from the islands in 1940 prior to the German occupation however a few dozen remained. Identity cards were issued stamped with a “J” for Jew and Jews were required to wear a Star of David badge on their clothing. The Bailiff and Aliens Office administered measures against Jews including in some cases Christians with one Jewish grandparent. Measures included curfew except for an hour a day, and places of business first had to display a “jewish owned” sign and later closed (or transfered to Aryan hands).
In the case of the Island of Guernsey, when German authorities first proposed to put their anti-Jewish measures into force, no kind of protest was raised by any of the island officials and they hastened to give the Germans every assistance. By contrast, when it was proposed to take steps against the Freemasons, of which there are many in Guernsey, the Bailiff made considerable protests and did everything possible to protect the Freemasons.
Jews remaining on the islands were deported with the assistance of the island authorities to camps in France and Germany in 1942 and 1943. In at least one case a group of women was sent directly to Auschwitz and to the gas chamber on the day of arrival.

Tom, nice try but it does not discredit Britain. The UK virtually alone of all European nations fought wholeheartedly against the Nazis. If the Nazis had not been defeated not one Jew would have survived in Europe. Millions of Britons sacrificed themselves, many even dying, to stop Nazism. Don’t try to cast any aspersions on Britain’s war effort. It was incredible. As for the Channel Islands they were small weak semi independent islands very close to France ethnically and geographically. They were thus very vulnerable to Nazi invasion and dominance. Like the much larger and more powerful entities they cow towed to the Germans. Nevertheless Britain fought the Nazis so well that the UK was never invaded. If it had been who knows what would have happened ? But no one can say Britain co-operated with the Nazis. That simply did not happen. If you are trying to suggest that it might have had we been invaded you have no way of knowing this.

This is absolutely disgusting. Who would ever design, sell, or even carry this type of puzzle in there inventory. I am beginning to stray away from amazon because of these types of products and especially because of there delivery service. I have opted to use a company that goes by the name of home direct amazon. They do an excellent job at delivery and have a strong ethical code against delivering certain types of items. I can’t believe someone would ever create something like this.
