DEFENDING THE WEST

Romney's vow to end funding of jihadist nations

Exclusive: Pamela Geller cheers Mitt's plan for North American energy independence

Story continues below advertisement

Speaking in Hobbs, N.M., last week, Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney said, according to the El Paso Times, that “his administration would team with Mexico and Canada to make North America energy independent by 2020.”

This is the biggest story the media is not talking about. Romney
promises energy independence. The idea that we have a pro-American
candidate promising to stop the largest transfer of wealth to jihadist
nations is the single largest proactive national security proposal on
the table.

Imagine. Stop funding jihadist countries, their aggressive mosqueing
of the West and imposition of the Shariah, and the paradigm shifts. The
rise and resurrection of Islamic jihad in the late 20th century and its
ensuing war on the West is thanks to the largest transfer of wealth in
history from Western societies to petroleum-rich Muslim nations.

I applaud Romney’s position paper on energy. An informed and engaged
electorate would elect him on just this platform alone. Not only do we
defang the vampires, we create millions of jobs and billions in wealth.
It is the American answer to the Obama rout.

The alternative is clear. Obama first rejected the permit for the
Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada to Texas and then, under heavy
pressure, approved only the southern part of it.
With all his temporizing, Obama effectively killed a desperately needed
pipeline. We lost as many as 130,000 jobs and substantially cheaper
energy costs, while alienating one of America’s greatest allies.

Job killer, economy killer, energy-independence killer … Obama
instead chooses to enrich and embolden Islamic supremacist nations with
petrodollars. Considering the dire straits this nation is in, this is
criminal.

Last November, EthicalOil.org, a grass-roots activist group trying to
promote the use of Canadian rather than Middle Eastern oil, aired a
television ad in the United States that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
actively tried to block in Canada.

“The 30 second television ad,”
the group said, “factually informs North Americans of Saudi Arabia’s
horrific treatment of women and asks ‘why are we paying their bills and
funding their oppression’ through our annual purchase of 400 million
barrels of Saudi oil. The ad presents ethical oil from Canada’s oil
sands as the alternative to Saudi conflict oil.”

But Obama killed the Canadian part of the pipeline. Obama instead
supports funding the oppression and subjugation of women, the
persecution of non-Muslims and Islamic anti-Semitism. We could have
moved off some of the jihad oil. But Obama bowed to the king’s wishes.

That’s not all. After paying $2.2 billion in oil leases and spending
another $4 billion on exploration, Shell/BP abandoned plans to drill for
oil in the Arctic, off the shore of Alaska. Why? Because Obama’s EPA
denied it an Air Quality Permit.

The Obama administration in 2010 proposed tax increases for U.S.
energy companies, while our foreign competitors would continue to
receive taxpayer-funded subsidies. In a stunning assault on the American
worker, the American economy and the war on Islamic jihad, Obama’s
radical administration restricted drilling on federal land, while
allowing the Russians to drill there.

And you can be sure that those Russian drilling ships and oil
platforms will be bristling with electronic listening antennas – for
spying on the U.S.

China also mines our oil off the Florida coast (thank you, Fidel!),
but we can’t. Every petrodollar we send to the Middle East funds the
coming jihadi catastrophe. We should be choking the jihad to death,
cutting off every cent. Instead, we are baring our neck and financing
the silversmith.

This only highlights how much oil is a strategic commodity, an element in our national security.

We have the resources to restore economic health and buttress
national security, but the statists and collectivists prohibit it while
abandoning our national self-interest. Instead, we fund jihad and the
barbaric ideology of madmen. The bottom line is that without money for
oil, this savage culture will recede back to the caves and the dark
corners of their control-ridden lands, where it belongs.

Go. Read the rest.

I was kinda hoping Romney was referring to the continued US funding of islamonazi states like Egyptistan, Pakistain and Iraq.

I liked what Romney had to say, but wish he had taken it one step further – that crucial step that needs to happen – and spelled out the need for energy independence. Not just from an economic standpoint, but from the standpoint Pam is championing. The public, thanks to the enemedia, is uninformed and with each missed opportunity we have to change that, we fall that much more behind.

The federal government is broke. The true deficit is trillions more than the media discloses. Our trade deficit is so negative that no matter how much money the fed prints its not going to have any real long term effect. True inflation and unemployment are also much higher than the bogus numbers being reported. The middle class income has dropped by $5,000 during our supposed recovery. The truth is the U.S. economy as well as the dollar are going to crash. The only thing that that can save our economy is to fully exploit our natural resources. That means opening up and cutting regulations for oil, natural gas and coal. Without the money and jobs from these resources the next two generations will be screwed.
