Information wars continue at NY train stations

Coast to coast, AFDI/SIOA is fighting the good fight in the information battle-space. The destoyers are already out taking their orders from Muslim Brotherhood groups like Hamas-CAIR, to destroy the truth.

The "journalist" did not call me for comment. But they called every one of my adversaries. The writer calls me anti-Muslim. Frankly, I find that very islamophobic. By calling me anti-Muslim, the writer of the article  implies that every Muslim is a jihadi who wants to impose sharia and "eliminate and destroy Western civilization from within and sabotage its miserable house."

"Billboard Wars Continue at Westchester Train Stations" Scarsdale 10583, 14 August 2012

americanfreedomThe billboard wars continue at Metro North train stations where now a third group has launched a campaign. The controversy began in July when an anti-Israel group named the Committee for Peace in Israel and Palestine (COPIP) posted anti-Israel billboards at Westchester train stations. The posters contended that Israel had taken Palestinian land and turned the Palestinians into refugees — and some called them “grossly distorted” and “misleading.”

[…]

Now the American Freedom Defense Initiative has entered the fray and inflamed those on both sides of the conflict. The new billboard, which is posted at the Scarsdale Train Station, reads, “*19,250 Deadly Islamic Attacks Since 9/11/01 *and counting. Not Islamophobia, It’s Islamorealism.”

John Harris, a Scarsdale resident and Chair of the N.Y. Chapter of the AntiDefamation League said, “It’s unfortunate that some people are trying to reduce the difficult issues in the Middle East to slogans on billboards. The latest Westchester ads by American Freedom Defense Initiative, a group headed by the anti-Muslim activist Pamela Geller, are offensive and inflammatory. Being pro-Israel doesn’t mean being anti-Muslim and anti-Arab. Suspecting a “jihadist” motivation by everyone who follows Islam contributes to an atmosphere where hatred and discrimination are easily justified. Geller has a First Amendment right to spread her views, but she does Israel no service by her bigoted attacks on all Islam. The ADL hopes that our Muslim neighbors recognize that Geller’s campaign reflects the thinking of a very small minority in the Jewish community and trust that they also understand, as do we, the dangers posed by extremists in all of our faiths.”

Last year the American Freedom Defense Initiative proposed posting an ad on city buses that read, “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man,” and then between two Stars of David had the words, “Support Israel. Defeat Jihad.”

The MTA rejected the ad on the basis that it violated its prohibition on messages that demean individuals or groups on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin or other characteristics.

However, last week U.S. District Court Judge Paul Engelmayer ruled that the ad was political speech as it expressed a pro-Israel perspective, and as such was protected under the First Amendment.

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) objected to the advertisement from the anti-Muslim group as “highly offensive and inflammatory,” but said it agreed with a federal judge’s finding that the Metropolitan Transportation Authority was wrong in rejecting it.

“We support the court’s conclusion that the ad is a form of protected speech under the First Amendment, yet we still strongly object to both the message and the messenger,” said Ron Meier, ADL New York Regional Director. “We believe these ads are highly offensive and inflammatory. Pro-Israel doesn’t mean anti-Muslim. It is possible to support Israel without engaging in bigoted anti-Muslim and anti-Arab stereotypes.”

Craven quislings.

How do fools like John Harris get to be leaders of major Jewish organizations? This is the sad question his insulting and demonstrably false statement raises. I am sure Mr, Harris would disparage Judah Maccabee as an anti-Syrian-Greek bigot and claim that ” he does no service to Israel by his “bigoted attacks on all Syrians.” I am heartily sick of these wimps. Ancient Jews were known and feared around the world as fierce fighters, when did we turn into John Harrises?

Thanks, Choi. Now we know that there are at least two good reasons to strongly dislike John Harris. Tell me, John Harris, who are all these Muslims/Arabs that would support Israel’s right to exist? Thought so. There aren’t any are there?

NOTE to Mr John Harris – Chairman New York branch ADL.
Dear Mr Harris,
To show tolerance in the fase of intolerance can be considered a crime. To believe in everything and nothing, at the same time, could also be a weakness. On some issues, it is better to review, then move to the position that to be popular is VERY nice, to be right is ESSENTIAL.
Either those figures are correct, or they are not. If it turns out they ARE, you may have a problem with your credibility.

“He who is merciful to the cruel is destined to be cruel to the merciful.”
John Harris is proving that the ancient bible warnings are relevant even today.

What other faiths are engaging in global jihad and committing terrorist attacks with regularity? There simply is no danger posed by any other religion.

Well John, I don’t know what kind of “savages” you think we are over here but I will tell you that we are not the kind that decapitates kidnapped hostages, or kills our daughters for “honor” or sends suicide bombers into pizza parlors or crashes planes into skyscrapers. What is despicable, and no fairly about it, are mewling cowards like you, John, that don’t have the guts to admit what is obvious to any one with a shred of decency in them; namely, that murder and torture are evil in and of themselves but when fomented by the tenets of a major world religion you have the makings of a holocaust. That is what Pamela Geller is trying to point out and prevent. It is a nobel but overwhelming task John, and if you don’t have the courage or brains to help, at least be quiet.

Thank you John Harris. So many peaceful Muslims make Westchester their home; including in the Village of Scarsdale. How must they feel when they see this rhetoric? A number of Muslims commit terrorist acts just as a number of Americans who are not Muslim commit acts of violence on a massive scale, as we unfortunately have seen recently. That does not mean we as a people are violent and prone to acts of terrorism. It does absolutely nothing to further peace and understanding to display this kind of hate message. The poster about the Palestinians loss of land was simply factual, it made no wide reaching, blanket accusations of terrorism about the Jewish people. The poster should be considered hate speech and removed.

To take your 2nd point first, i.e. that the maps showing pre 1947 Palestine etc. were “simply facts”, I pose the following questions: what were the internationally recognized borders of Palestine?, what was it’s form of government?, what distinct customs, language or currency distinguished Palestine from the rest of the Arab world? The fact is there was no such entity as a state of Palestine then or at any point since. There are Arabs that live in the land as there are Jews, Druse, Armenians, Copts and a host of other peoples. Therefore the map showing Palestine as if it were a political state like other states that was somehow swallowed up by a malevolent (we are to assume) Israel is nothing more than clumsy propaganda designed to impress the uninformed. Now to your first point that “a number of muslims commit terrorist acts just as a number of Americans (by that I assume you mean non-muslim Americans) commit acts of violence on a massive scale”. What massive acts of violence have the Americans or Israelis committed other than to defend themselves against blood thirsty Jihadis? Do not equate the victims with the perpetrators. Now, how must these peaceful Muslims feel when they see that countless acts of barbarism are being committed in the name of their religion? Anger at the Jihadis would be appropriate. Also, demonstrating their repudiation of those who kill and torture in the name of Islam by supporting people like Pam Geller and AFDI could make them feel a little better.

It is incredible how many people in the developed world are still bent on appeasing Islam. The last ten years have clearly demonstrated the failure of the approach. Islam is a very aggressive and cruel religion. It is discouraging and punishing (in most cruel forms) of individual rights and freedoms, free press, and generally of all democratic values that we all treasure. Yet, there is no shortage of people with their heads deep in the sand, who continue to think that Islam can be pacified by appeasement. People like John Harris simply do not know history and lack the intellect to understand that you cannot deal democratically with Stone Age mentality, determined to spread principles of Sharia law across the world. Of course there are Muslims who possess the intellect and have the vision to share our values. But they are small silent minority of the Muslim world, too afraid to speak out. How many Muslims stood up and criticized the 9/11 terrorist act? And now how many Arabs and Muslims celebrated and continue to celebrate the tragic event.
