The Washington Times: Pamela Geller Interview

9
Joseph Cotto of The Washington Times interviewed me for a piece in The Washington Times, "Pamela Geller is speaking up.Go here now and read it. Here's an excerpt:

Pamela Geller is one of the most controversial pundits in America today. What does she have to say about the traditional media, news bias, and political correctness? Find out.

Photo: Associated Press

Joseph F. Cotto: Over the last decade and a half, America's traditional media outlets have been losing ground at light speed. Alternative sources, such as cable news channels and political websites, have found remarkable success. Why do you suppose that this is?

Story continues below advertisement

Pamela Geller: Because the traditional media outlets are dishonest. They are increasingly unmasked as propaganda arms for the left. The media today have one goal: to shape the news, change the message, even lie about the news to advance a collectivist, pro-sharia agenda. People have been burned, and burned badly. They are turning to alternative sources, particularly honest pro-freedom blogs, for the truth.

Cotto: It is very easy to see that most news outlets are biased in one way or another. Some on the left claim that a conservative business complex of sorts runs everything, while a great many on the right think that hardline progressives control all but a few sources. What is your opinion on this seeming quagmire?

Geller:What conservative business complex? Where? That is total projection on the left's part. They accuse us of what they are guilty of. The right is fragmented and filled with cowards who eagerly give up anyone among their own whom the left is denouncing. The left, by contrast, always marches in lockstep. If anyone of their own is in trouble (however egregious the offense), they circle the wagons. This is the one lesson the right ought to have learned from the left. Stand by your people. Is it any wonder the right lacks fierce leadership?

The right gives the left the power to define the narrative, the parameters, who is acceptable and who isn't. The right should withdraw its sanction.

Off topic but related: It's not really left vs right. I understand that this is the context in which all things political are framed, but it is wrong. The real conflict today is individualism (right) vs collectivism (left). The defense of individual rights is the wellspring of all of my ideas. That is my fundamental premise: defense of individual rights and property rights.

Cotto: Political correctness rose to prominence in order to deal with longstanding social inequalities. However, with the passing of time, it has become a frequent means of suppressing diverse ideas and, in a more comprehensive sense, free speech. From your standpoint, what will the legacy of political correctness in America be regarded as?

Geller:If free people triumph, political correctness will be regarded as a treasonous movement to weaken America and destroy the freedom of speech, our fundamental protection against tyranny. "Political correctness" is a euphemism for thought control and the criminalization of thought.

A good interview Pam, the first seven words you spoke were true because they encompassed the problem. In May 1995, i was invited to speak,as a campaign leader,
on local radio by the BBC. In the automated studio the controler,25 miles away, rehersed cutting me off,he asked me if i heard a “click”, i didn’t. When he asked me
a direct question,on air,i started to answer with a truthful answer as i knew it to be, he cut me off, blaming a “technicle” fault. Thats the BBC for you.
The scope of the success the left enjoys having changed even the meaning and use of words to enforce their control of the commanding heights of debate is clear .
The UK Daily Telegraph today reported on the case of a muslim sentanced to 19 years for grooming and forcing into prostitution, young white girls is, at last, a clear reflection of the situation prevailing in the UK today. This report is the first honest one i’ve read in that paper,on this issue, i hope this continues.
To combat this tide of PC speak, i refuse to use PC speak. I am happy therefore to refer to you as Mrs or Miss,Pameler Geller because i cannot use Ms.
As i see it, Islamic programmes of subjugation are advanced by the use of the terms of the left, i.e. PC speak, so if we wish to push back, use old fashioned plain English as a descriptive counter. When people research the truth on the web sites they cannot read on the MSM, sites like this will be increasingly sought out for their veracity, clarity and honesty.

To tolerate the freedom of islam to plan my death and the deaths of others, is a crime John don’t you think? To show hatred towards islam and it’s ideology seems to me to be an obligation on us all. Islam is to the human brain what Rabies is to dogs – DEADLY.

Pam, I would like to comment on the following important point. You and your readers might take issue with me. I am prepared to defend my position as a forty plus year registered (conservative) Republican.
You responded: “The right is fragmented and filled with cowards who eagerly give up anyone among their own whom the left is denouncing. The left, by contrast, always marches in lockstep. If anyone of their own is in trouble (however egregious the offense), they circle the wagons. This is the one lesson the right ought to have learned from the left. Stand by your people. Is it any wonder the right lacks fierce leadership?”
True, the right is filled with cowards who eagerly give up on men and women of integrity, moral courage and honesty among their own whom the left is denouncing. But the right stands solidly by our cowards and traitors.
Case in point. I voted for George W. Bush in 2000 albeit I did not like or trust his father who I also voted for. Bush Sr. gathered Israel (Jew)-haters around him in his administration.
Prior to and after the 9/11 attacks in New York and Washington, we saw some of the bloodiest terrorism in Israel in decades; suicide bombings of buses, restaurants, markets, discos, etc.
What did we hear from the Bush administration and his State Department? Condemnation of the Palestinians and their leaders? No. Condemnation of Israel for “disproportionate and excessive” response to terrorism. Demands for restraint, an end to this “cycle of violence,” etc.
Only days after the 9/11 attacks, what does Bush do besides assure Americans Islam is a religion of peace that had been hijacked by terrorists who blasphemed Allah? Like Chamberlain at Munich, Bush sold-out Israel in keeping with a written pledge he made to then Crown Prince Abdullah late August 2001. George W. Bush became the first American president to make the establishment of a Muslim-enemy state in Israel a “formal goal of U.S. policy. Bush / Rove codified the abomination – along with our commendation of Israel for her willingness to forcibly remove thousands of Jews from historic Israel in the midst of bloody terrorism – in our national party platform, August 2004, for the first time in the history of the GOP!
What was the response on the right, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Republican leaders, etc.? We marched in lockstep. We circled the wagons around Bush in spite of his massive betrayal of a friend and an ally; in spite of the profound lies he told the nation about Islam.
Standing by one of our own that is in trouble makes sense if he or she is worthy of our support. Standing by our reprobates yields Barack Hussein Obama; or worse! Of this I am convinced. Would that the right internalized this important lesson.

Go Pamela! And thanks for another quote for my files which I will use whenever possible (attributed to you of course):
“If free people triumph, political correctness will be regarded as a treasonous movement to weaken America and destroy the freedom of speech, our fundamental protection against tyranny. “Political correctness” is a euphemism for thought control and the criminalization of thought.”-Pamela Geller
It’s right up there with your Jeffrey Dahmer quote, my absolute favorite.”Saying CAIR is an advocacy group is like saying that Jeffrey Dahmer was a gourmand.”-Pamela Geller

”… The right is fragmented and filled with cowards who eagerly give up anyone among their own whom the left is denouncing. The left, by contrast, always marches in lockstep. If anyone of their own is in trouble (however egregious the offense), they circle the wagons…”
Very true. However, I would also note that if one of the left breaks *out* of lockstep, ie: begins to question the PC/MC garbage, questions the ‘islamophobia’ garbage, they fall on him or her like ravening woves; viz. Eric Alan Bell. Also, any actual *muslim* who questions the leftist trope is *also* attacked by the pack; viz. Mona Hatawy. Their ‘loyalty’ only encompasses the drones who unquestioningly lap up the mind set.

Yes, they are no longer left. They went off the reservation. As far as the left is concerned, they are the enemy.
