“Hannity confronts Ground Zero mosqueteer”

19

A couple of weeks back I excoriated Bill O'Reilly for brownnosing the Ground Zero mosqueteer radical Rauf (if you missed that, go here). Last week, Sean Hannity interviewed the dissembler and showed O'Reilly how it's done.

Hannity confronts Ground Zero mosqueteer WND

Exclusive: Pamela Geller cheers Fox host pressing Rauf on Shariah, anti-Americanism

Ground Zero mosqueteer Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is pushing a whole new narrative on his deception book tour. So it was particularly delicious to watch Sean Hannity interview, or interrogate, the sly imam on his show last week. The imam Rauf has almost never been challenged by a fawning, complicit media, and he was visibly taken aback as Hannity courageously pressed him on his dishonesty and anti-Americanism. Hannity confronts Ground Zero mosqueteer_1338341043340

Sean pressed Rauf on his most disgusting and outrageous statements, like “United States policies were an accessory to the crime that happened” on 9/11, and that “in fact, in the most direct sense, Osama bin Laden is made in the USA.” Hannity also asked Rauf about a story I broke involving statements the sneaky Rauf made in Australia: “We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al-Qaida has on its hands of innocent non-Muslims. You may remember that the U.S.-led sanctions against Iraq led to the death of over half a million Iraqi children.”

The slippery imam apologized to Hannity repeatedly for these statements. That was news in itself, as Rauf had never apologized for his statements before, although he claimed to Hannity that he had done so in order to advance his new narrative. Rauf kept insisting to Hannity that the problem isn’t Islamic jihad. The problem, he said repeatedly, is the extremists on both sides. By this Rauf meant Robert Spencer and me on one side, and Osama bin Laden on the other. Rauf considers my work in defense of freedom “extreme” – as if truth in the extreme were a bad thing, or defense of freedom in the extreme were a bad thing. But Sean was having none of it. He was brilliant, and he was relentless.

Still, Rauf kept on slipping in his lies. He said that the need for women to produce four male witnesses to prove rape was “cultural.” He was lying. In fact it is specified in the Quran (24:4 and 24:13). He also said that no Muslims want to bring Shariah courts to the U.S., contradicting his own words in previous books about how Shariah is one unified whole and cannot be separated into parts, and clearly suggesting that it is something that ought to come to the U.S. He listed six things Shariah is designed to safeguard, including life, liberty and dignity – but these are only safeguarded for Muslim men; Muslim women and non-Muslims are deprived of basic rights under Shariah.

Hannity did what TV pundits and journalists are supposed to do. They’re not supposed to be the PR arm or delivery service for subversives’ press releases. But that’s just what Hannity’s counterpart on Fox, Bill O’Reilly, was for Rauf last week.

Former Muslims United pledge for “religious freedom and safety from harm for former Muslims”? Why didn’t Rauf stand against the Shariah death penalty for apostasy, and for Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, who is about to be executed for this in Iran? Why didn’t he mention our AFDI/SIOA Summer Night for Human Rights on June 23, calling for religious liberty and freedom from violent intimidation for Muslim apostates?

It also bears noting that the sales rank at Amazon.com for Rauf’s deceptive and disingenuous new book was well into the thousands after the “Hannity” show – which is unheard of for someone who appeared on both O’Reilly and Hannity. That goes to show you that the American people weren’t buying it, even when Bill O’Reilly was dishing up this mush.

I am sure it was not Sean’s intent to show up Bill O’Reilly, but show him up he did.

This Rauf demon is a complete tool! A textbook example of Al-taqiyya! Hannity wasn’t buying it. He knows this demonic leopard’s stripes will never change. GOOD JOB SEAN!!

Agreed with everything you said Pamela. Personally I think Hannity went a bit easy on him-he should’ve treated him like a traitor and the enemy-then the truth would’ve come out.
If I may say, can we please stop calling Rauf and maggots like him “Mosqueketeers”, that moniker is too sweet and nice and close to ‘mouseketeers.’
Scum like Rauf want to be our future rulers/overlords/tyrants and genociders. Maybe we should call them ‘Mosqizs’ (like Nazis) or ‘Mosquers’ or ‘Mosque-pushers’, or something else.

IMAM RAUF, ISLAM AND SUFI MYSTICISM
When interviewing the genial Sufi resisting his magnetic charms and staying armed and on the attack is a difficult challenge. And no one to date has met this challenge better than the dogged Sean Hannity who kept the Sufi off balanced and on the defensive for most of this rare interview. But if I could interview the Sufi and be allowed to ask him one and only one question this is what I’d say:
“If Islam is a path to salvation and spiritual fulfillment, as you believe, then why are you a Sufi? Isn’t conventional, mainstream, normative Islam, the Islam of the Prophet, the Islam that you say is so perfectly good that it doesn’t need improvement or reform, sufficient for your spiritual needs? Isn’t the practice of the Five Pillars which comes from Allah a ladder to his throne? Can’t it elevate one’s soul and join it to the Supreme Being? What is lacking in Islam (the final revelation of divine truth and God’s fullest self-disclosure to man) that you need to practice Sufi mysticism?”
If Hannity had asked this question Rauf would have been one discombobulated imam.

… that’s it! I can’t look at this video any longer. What a snake! “Beware of those who come to you in sheep’s clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves.”
His pretentious act is just that – an act. His externally adopted westernized rehearsed manner is just a front. Yeah scumbag Rauf you got it all down. The calm, poised, mild-mannered way – peppered with a well placed friendly “Shawn” here and there. Reminds me the German troops during WWII who infiltrated the American lines with their rehearsed American mannerisms and rehearsed American way of talking “o.k., Joe – What do you know?” What a slimy snake! I for one think that Hannity was not assertive enough with his bull. In the end Hannity still gave him too much credibility. How do you have a polite conversation with evil?

Hannity missed the chance to make Rauf really squirm. When Rauf mentioned “innocent people” Sean should have followed up with how many Muslims think non-Muslims living in the Dar-al-Harb (house of war) are really Harbis and can be killed. Or brought up the various passages in the Quran which suggest war against unbelievers generally, polytheists (to a Muslim both Christians and Hindus), and Jews. Make Rauf say (while lying his butt off) that non-Muslims are innocent people and someone will have accomplished something.
Until the media is as good at Islam as the Islamic spokesmen are at making sharia sound like baseball and apple pie, while using all the latest victimhood buzzwords, we’re going to keep losing on television. Rauf knew far more about Sean’s way of thinking than the other way round. In order to unpack the lies of people like Rauf you need to spend a few years or a couple of really intense months reading the Quran, ahadith, terror fatwas, terror manuals and the associated stealh jihad, sharia and Islamophobia propaganda from the Muslim Brotherhood front groups.
BUT, to be fair, Sean is a thousand percent better than the average TV talking head. Far better than O’Reilly. Saw both interviews and O’Reilly was infuriating as opposed to Hannity merely needing to follow up a little better.

@ Beagle well said and I agree. This is exactly what I was hoping to see, but the problem is that the media is pretty uneducated about Islam which is why they can’t see through the Taqqiya and slick lies of Rauf.
Likewise, I do give a lot of credit to Hannity for trying his best with his limited knowledge of Islam to expose this wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Hannity should’ve brought up Rauf’s funding of that terror flotilla trying to break Israel’s blockade and kill Jewish soldiers.
He could’ve asked very pointed questions on sharia law like death for apostasy, the inferior status of non-muslims and women, etc.
But I think they are getting better. Some education on Islam and Hannity will be almost as good as any of us here on this evil fascist totalitarian death cult.

Of the dozens of questions related to politics that Hannity could have or should have asked Rauf that would have embarrassed the hell out of him the one that stands out in my mind is on the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Imagine how flustered and stunned Rauf would have been if Hannity had asked him if he accepted Israel’s right to exist as a sovereign Jewish state; and upon answering yes then hitting him with the prediction he once made of a one state solution that Israeli Jews seeing the light and wanting peace will exchange their sovereignty for minority (dhimmi) status in a larger Arab state. This is Rauf’s idea of a peaceful solution to the conflict. You can’t get anymore delusional than this.

I wish Hannity would have let Rauf finnish what he was saying about the seven pillars of Islam. We really don’t hear much about that. I think we don’t understand how they practice their religion and think, and they don’t understand Christianity or Judaism either. I don’t think Jewish or Christian extrmeists are dangerous, as he said. I think they are either extremely peaceful or extremely reclusive. That doens’t compare to the Muslims who go on killing rampages. I think even the extreme Muslims in Turkey who do the whirling of hours are extreme, but they are not jihadists. So it is a certain branch of the Muslims who rule the rest who are the trouble. The danger there is that the extremists dominate the rest in the name of their god, who none of them fully understand or worship in the same way.
Maybe Rauf is settling down and learning his lesson. Maybe he is like a hippie Muslim who just wants peace for all on some level. That doens’t mean we have to agree with everything he asks for like the megamosque over the graves of the dead on US soil.
Al Quida is a CIA construct to get the radicals and disenchanted and drug dealers among the Muslims united to promote war and the establishment of Wetern coporate interests in Muslim lands. I don’t think the Muslims are really all that bad if left alone, but they are being stirred up like the Germans were under Hitler, the socalled Chritian Germans and Catholic type Christinas. Now Jews hate Christians for that the way Christians hate Jews for Islam, but maybe it is just the bad elements taking over and taking credit.
I think that Hannity is overly aggressive and overly suggestive in what information gets out in his interviews. Rauf may have been dodging quesitons, but maybe his mind works different. I would have liked to have heard him out on what he was trying to explain. Not that I would agree, but I would like to see where he is coming from at least. There are enough blanket judgements being thrown around in this world.

@bb
“Al Quida” is a “CIA construct”? Huh? Strangely enough Nightline recently had a piece on Al Qaeda in Yemen that made it seem as if Al Qaeda had taken over part of Yemen for itself. It discussed plainly fighting between Yemen’s government forces and Al Qaeda fighters and acts of terrorism being committed by Al Qaeda there against the government forces of Yemen. Was Osama Bin Ladin also a “CIA construct”?

LOL, yeah maybe Hannity should of just allowed Rauf to proselytize Islam for the duration of his program.

I am so sick of the lies from this muslim, cair, those stupid muslims using the University for propaganda… and last but not least, the bloody liberals and Obama. These idiot violent muslims and libs will never go away. We have to pass our knowledge to our children and tell them to pass it to theirs. The only way I know of getting rid of them, muslims that is, kick their A$$E$ out of the country, FOREVER. We have to make Islam against the law. Those muslims like Dr. Zuhdi Jasser must give their religion another name and rewrite the koran, but it can’t be called the “koran”. It makes it too easy for these bloody muslims to justify their beliefs. I couldn’t listen to that muslim talking to Hannity… I get sick just looking at the bloody liar. Let’s Roll. Thank you to the owner of this site, Pamela Geller.
