Our  treacherous regime at work. This is one of scores of subversive and dangerous appointments by an adminstration at war with America.

Story continues below advertisement

In a scary development, a major Obama fundraiser who defended a convicted al Qaeda terrorist will become the third highest ranking official at the Department of Justice (DOJ), which, ironically, is charged with defending the interests of the United States.

Northern California lawyer Tony West has been named Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division, making him the No. 3 guy at the agency. In 2009 West, who helped Obama raise tens of millions of dollars as finance co-chairman of his first presidential campaign, was appointed to help run the DOJ’s civil division which represents the government, Congress and presidential cabinet officers and handles cases dealing with significant policy issues.

In a statement announcing the promotion this week, Attorney General Eric Holder says West has served the department with “professionalism, integrity and dedication.” Holder also mentions West’s work before coming to the DOJ a few years ago, including a stint as a Special Assistant Attorney General in California and a lengthier career at a large San Francisco law firm.

Conveniently omitted in the press release is that West represented convicted al Qaeda terrorist John Walker Lindh, who is serving a 20-year prison sentence. Lindh was captured in Afghanistan in 2001 while fighting against the U.S.-backed Northern Alliance as a member of the Taliban army. He actually pleaded guilty to aiding the Taliban and carrying explosives while fighting U.S. troops in the region.

Holder also knows a thing or two about defending terrorists. After all, he was a senior partner in a prestigious Washington D.C. law firm (Covington & Burling) that represented more than a dozen Yemeni terrorists held at the U.S. military prison in Guantanamo Bay Cuba. While Holder was a senior partner the firm employed a number of radical attorneys to provide the Islamic extremists with thousands of hours of free legal representation, according to a news report.

Another highlight in Holder’s resume is that he orchestrated Bill Clinton’s shameful last-minute pardons, including that of a fugitive financier and a pair of jailed domestic terrorists. In fact, shortly after the pardon scandal, Holder predicted that his public career was over. Under his leadership the DOJ has been embroiled in a number of high-profile scandals, including a gun-running operation (Fast and Furious) in which weapons were sold to Mexican drug cartels. One was later used to murder a federal agent. Judicial Watch has sued the DOJ to obtain records involving the operation.

Sounds like the Pennsylvania judge who enforced sharia against a US citizen is just the tip of the iceberg.
Sharia…coming soon to a courtroom near you.

The corruption and anti-Americanism is never ending.
Not forgetting Tony West lead a case against the State of Arizona (whilst all Arizona was trying to do, was protect its citizens!)
Whilst Tony West headed up a lawsuit against Arizona on their Immigration policies, there were conflicts of interest.
Conflicts of interest (From the Fox News Video http://youtu.be/rexqPcfTPjg):
(1) Tony West’s wife, Maya Harris, is the head of the ACLU (which has also filed a lawsuit against Arizona!)
(2) Tony West’s sister-in-law, Kamala Harris, is the District Attorney General of San Francisco and has furthered that city’s sanctuary policy for criminal illegal aliens, including placing them in taxpayer funded training programs to secure American jobs. [part quote from video, I added her name] cited by the Examiner.com.
Commentator on Fox News says Tony West’s own SIL was breaking Federal law.

John Walker Lindh was a confused rich kid from Marin County. He pleaded guilty in a plea bargain. He was hardly the hardened taliban fighter that your article implys.

Oh yes, John Walker Lindh, affectionately known as “Rat Boy”, by Michael Savage. The terrorist wannabe. Probably someone’s prison girlfriend right now.
Why does Obama keep trying to appoint or otherwise promote these extreme radicals? How many does this make now, a half dozen or so?
Clearly, it shows Obama’s Reverend-Wright-radicalism is still present just under the surface. Unrestrained and with nothing else to lose, a second term as president will bring untold calamity upon the citizenry.

A Rebublican victory in the election would require a complete overhaul of DOJ and elimination of these Islamist savages and their appeasers from all levels of the US infrastructure to re-instate the great governing principles of liberty the USA was created with.

Obama’s executive branch has become a bunch of filthy cockroaches too numerous to count. The whole freaking federal government needs to be fumigated and rebuilt from the ground up.

As it seems by the naked aye, Obama is following a secret agenda, we hope to be wrong!
Piece by piece. Slice by slice. A right decision now and a Taqqiya decision later. Being a devoted American in the morning and a Muslim at night. Can anyone guess? It’s not paronoia in our part, it’s a matter of survival! So, Americans should be seriously concerned!.

On NYPD muslim’s surveillance:
Muslim leaders said they’re hoping for a full accounting of the New York Police Department’s secret surveillance program in New Jersey as they meet Saturday with state and federal law enforcement officials.
Leaders representing a cross-section of New Jersey’s diverse Muslim population want state Attorney General Jeffrey Chiesa to announce an official investigation into the NYPD’s surveillance program in New Jersey and give them a full accounting on whether mosques, community organizations or Muslim student associations are still under surveillance.
The private meeting, which was still under way Saturday afternoon, was being held at Chiesa’s office in the state’s capital. The attorney general has so far only said that he’s looking into the matter.
New Jersey’s Muslim leaders have been demanding at least a state investigation – if not a federal one – into the NYPD’s activities following a series of stories by The Associated Press that detailed the monitoring or recommended surveillance of Muslims in New Jersey, the mapping of mosques in Newark and the monitoring of Muslim student groups, including at Rutgers University.
In 2007, the NYPD’s secretive Demographics Unit fanned out across Newark, photographing every mosque and eavesdropping in Muslim businesses. The findings were cataloged in a 60-page report, obtained by the AP, that served as a police guidebook to Newark’s Muslims. There was no mention of terrorism or any criminal wrongdoing.
Imam Mustafa El-Amin, the head of Masjid Ibrahim in Newark, which was one of the mosques included in the NYPD’s report, said Saturday that he wanted to know the extent, and the legal justification, for the NYPD’s surveillance of his mosque.
“I understand safety, I understand security, and I know it’s a very touchy issue; as a regular person myself having a daughter and a family, I want to make sure we’re safe and secure as well,” El-Amin said. “But the problem I have is when you have surveillance on an entire group of people simply because of their religion.”
An interstate war of words has been escalating between officials over the NYPD’s conduct in New Jersey.
Gov. Chris Christie, who was the top federal prosecutor in New Jersey when the surveillance took place, said on a radio program Wednesday that the NYPD had arrogantly overstepped its bounds by not telling law enforcement officials in New Jersey about the monitoring of Muslims in Newark.
Newark Mayor Cory Booker and the city’s current and former police directors have said they were notified the NYPD was in their city but misled as to the nature of the investigation and would never have authorized such wholesale spying on Muslims if they had known about it.
New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has continued to defend the NYPD’s intelligence operations, saying the department had the legal right to gather information that would be available to anyone about Muslims in the region, and adding during his weekly appearance Friday on WOR Radio: “To say that the NYPD should stop at the border is a bit ridiculous.”
Several law enforcement officials have said blocking the NYPD at the New Jersey border is not the issue. Instead, they are questioning why the NYPD seems to have been operating outside established protocols for law enforcement in both states to work together on investigations.
In addition to Saturday’s meeting, several groups in New Jersey and New York, including the American Civil Liberties Union, the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund, the American Arab Forum and the Council of Shia Professionals, have sent letters asking for formal state and federal investigations into the NYPD’s activities, saying that the surveillance plans detailed in the reports point to violations both of New Jersey law and the civil rights of law abiding residents.
THE COUNTRY BASED ON LIES is DOOMED.

How does one serve as a defense attorney with “professionalism, dedication and integrity”? Perhaps many of those commenting and the person who wrote the article believes that a defense attorney with those qualities would only agree to defend charming people who agree with your beliefs about everything and who are kindhearted full of integrity and of course innocent.
Homework assignment for those who believe so… Go back and read what the Constitution says about defending people who are accused of a crime or crimes in our democracy in the United States of America.
An attorney with integrity and professionalism upholds our U.S. Constitution including and especially what it says about all accused deserving a “vigorous defense” regardless of his attorney’s personal beliefs or his opinion about whether the accused is innocent or guilty. Thomas Jefferson believed strongly that this right to a strong defence regardless of the person’s ability to pay for an attorney was a cornerstone of a strong democracy.
