Pamela Geller WND Column: Obama’s war against the NYPD

Bear in mind that the majority of New Yorkers surveyed in a new Quinnipiac University poll believe that the NYPD treats Muslims fairly and approve of the way Police Commissioner Ray Kelly is doing his job.

Obama's war against the NYPD
Exclusive: Pamela Geller rips Holder for bowing to Muslim Brotherhood-linked groups

America, you are under siege from within. The Department of Justice, which is increasingly showing itself to be the de facto legal arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in America, is going to investigate the New York City Police Department for … protecting America from jihadist attacks.

It may sound unbelievable, but it’s true. The Justice Department has been inundated with complaints, whipped up by the Hamas-tied Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and other Islamic supremacist groups, over NYPD surveillance of Muslim neighborhoods and members of the Muslim Brotherhood group the Muslim Students Association (MSA). And now Attorney General Eric Holder is busy bowing to those complaints, announcing that the DOJ is going to “review” the NYPD program for possible civil-rights violations.

But in reality, no constitutional protections were contravened.

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is a close friend of the stealth radical Ground Zero mosque Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf. Bloomberg’s office worked hard to get the Ground Zero mosque past every legal hurdle. Bloomberg has consistently shown his solicitude for the Islamic community. Yet even Bloomberg, although he is so very anxious to make Muslim friends, has staunchly defended the NYPD actions. The idea that he would skirt constitutional protections in this surveillance is laughable.

Over 45 Islamic plots in the U.S. have been uncovered and stopped since 9/11, and close to 200 Muslims have been arrested in thwarted jihad plots. How does that happen? Intel, that’s how. And so who is the Justice Department going after? The most effective counter-jihad law enforcement organization in the world. Are you surprised, knowing how thoroughly compromised Obama’s Justice Department is? The DOJ holds “inter-agency meetings” with Muslim Brotherhood groups such as the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) on a regular basis. No wonder Holder is so quick to jump when Brotherhood-linked groups complain about the NYPD’s anti-jihad procedures.

The intention of this pressure campaign on the Justice Department, to which Holder is so eager to submit, is clear. This is an attempt to intimidate the NYPD into dropping all efforts to stop jihad terror plots.

The NYPD was keeping members of the Muslim Brotherhood under surveillance – so what? The Muslim Students Association is a Muslim Brotherhood organization. The Brotherhood is dedicated, in its own words, to “eliminating and destroying Western civilization from within.”

MSA members have hardly made any secret of their true intentions. According to Discover the Networks, “on Oct. 22, 2000, Ahmed Shama, then-president of the UCLA Muslim Students Association, led a crowd of demonstrators at the Israeli consulate in chants of ‘Death to Israel!’ and ‘Death to the Jews!’ One guest speaker at the event was Hussam Ayloush, a member of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which co-sponsored the rally. In his speech, Ayloush solicited contributions for the Holy Land Foundation, which was a supporter and fundraiser for Hamas.” And “MSA members at UCLA have raised money for Hamas and Hezbollah terrorists at their annual ‘Anti-Zionist Week.’”

These were not isolated incidents: “In March 2003, guest speaker Muhammad Faheed told an MSA meeting at Queensborough Community College in New York, ‘The only relationship you should have with America is to topple it!’” And six months before 9/11, “the University of Southern California MSA invited Taliban ambassador Sayyid Hashimi to speak on campus.”

Active violent jihadists have been involved in the MSA: “In 2003, University of Idaho MSA president Sami Omar Al-Hussayen, who had sought access to a chemical lab containing nuclear material, was ordered deported because he worked for the al Qaeda-tied Islamic Assembly of North America.”

According to journalist Daniel Greenfield, jihad terror mastermind Anwar al-Awlaki was in the MSA, and Ziyad Khaleel “was MSA president at Columbia College before he became al-Qaida’s procurement agent in the United States. Abu Mansoor al-Amriki, onetime MSA president at the University of South Alabama, is now the spokesman for the al-Qaida affiliate in Somalia. Wa’el Hamza Julaidan was MSA president at the University of Arizona before he became a co-founder of al-Qaida.”
