A lawsuit is challenging New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority's restriction of free speech and sanctioning of Jew-hatred in the city's subways (more here). Our free speech lawsuit against the NYC MTA is finally being heard next week. David Yerushalmi, Robert Muise, Robert Spencer and I will be in the United States courthouse fighting for the protection of free speech.

The issues will include what is the meaning of jihad, along with typical FA issues applicable there: how do they decide what is vs what is not "demeaning"? Where do they draw the line? What objective policy do they follow?

It should be interesting to the media because our team will be drilling only one witness, Jeffrey Rosen of MTA who purportedly makes these decisions.

Last September, the human rights organization American Freedom Defense Initiative (AFDI), of which I am executive director, filed suit against the New York City Metropolitan Transit Authority's restriction of free speech and sanctioning of Jew-hatred in the city's subways.  Jew-haters can run ads suggesting that Israel's self-defense is the obstacle to "peace."  But our ad calling terrorism against innocent civilians "savage" was banned, deemed "demeaning" and "insulting" to savages.  And now, in response to our discovery motion, we have received some highly revealing documents showing how the MTA acted inconsistently and out of political bias in rejecting our ads.

What is so unnerving about the MTA emails is the casual acceptance among MTA staffers of anti-Semitism, their casual acceptance of the anti-Israel ads, and their knee-jerk negative reaction to my simple and true ad.

That “Be on our side” poster is total propaganda. NO Israeli wants to see or even support the end to US military aid. That’s garbage!!
For whatever reason would they want too???
Ridiculous. Best of luck on the court case. Bring us back a victory!! How I wish i could be there.

Truth is definitely the new hate speech. Truly we are a world gone mad.
Yet Ms Geller has an impressive record of fighting these injustices and winning.
Hopefully she will win this one as well.
I would like to end this posting by stating what I have said before.
The Republicans are missing out on the obvious choice for leader. I think President Pamela Geller sounds pretty good.
Unfortunately as a Canadian I cannot participate in a Draft Pamela effort but I would hope some clever political operator would see the enormous potential and start the ball rolling. America desperately needs another Reagan and from where this Canadian sits I don’t see too many choices. Pamela please consider this seriously.

This is essential (if you are a militant Muslim or supporter of the Frankfurt School). How else can the requirements of the Pact of Umar be imposed on the free world. It is essential that non-Muslims be forbidden from telling the truth about Islam.

I assume discovery will be part of this legal process. I’m sure it will be the most interesting part.
Thanks for standing up for free speech Pamela! You have a great track record when it comes to these issues.

“When you have civilized men fighting savages, you support the civilized men, no matter who they are.”
-Ayn Rand
The fundamental justification for freedom of speech is man’s need to reason as his basic tool of survival and to communicate (or not) the tangible product of his mental effort to others. When Isha or the MTA claim a right to deny the fruits of the intellectual effort of others under the banner of free speech they set the concept and right of free speech at odds with its underlying moral basis.

Freedom of speech does include the freedom to insult. However, media are not obligated to disseminate insulting or distasteful expressions of free speech.
I could understand a rejection of both ads. The first ad implies that those who support Israel are opposed to peace and justice. The second implies that those who oppose such support are Jihadists and savages. Both could be considered offensive, despite the first ad’s misleading veneer of sweetness and light. But accepting the first and rejecting the second makes no sense.

The State of Israel will stand forever. Regardless, how much effort Islamic entities such as Hamas and Hezbollah put into trying to destroy the Jewish State. This is because the One true God which is the God of the Bible has proclaimed in Jeremiah 31;35,36. “Thus saith the Lord, which giveth the sun for light by day and the ordinances of the moon and stars for a light by night…The Lord of host is His name.
If those oddinances depart from before me , saith the Lord, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me forever.”

The agenda of Hezbollah, Hamas and the Palestinian Islamic Jihad will fail for they are overruled, because they are striving aganst the Will of God. In other they are fated to lose. For it is written “Then the Lord spoke to Moses that very same day, saying …view the land of Canaan , which I give to the children of Israel as a possession…” Deuteronomy 32:48,49. Furthermore, Pslam 105;8-11 reads He has remembered His covenant forever, The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations. The convenant which He made with Abraham, and His oath to Isaac, and confirmed it to Jacob for a statute. To Israel for an everlasting covenant, Saying ‘To you I will give the land of Canaan. As the allotmentof your inheritance’.”
Furthermore, Psalm 135:4 reads “For the Lord has chosen Jacob for Himself. Israel for His special treasure.”
