In the continuing islamization of the Department of Justice, Obama's DoJ filed a lawsuit against a Chicago-area school district for not allowing a Muslim teacher to take time off to make a religious pilgrimage to Mecca, thereby abandoning her students for a month. The school needed her and said no. She was the only math lab teacher, a new hire on probation. Why take a job you can't do? Why take a job that you plan on leaving for a month? Islamic supremacism.
The DoJ sued the school, forcing the district to pay $75,000 in lost back pay, compensatory damages and attorneys’ fees. Your taxpayer dollars at work to sue, to lose, to pay 75K in jizya.
Safoorah Khan had taught middle school math for only nine months in this tiny Chicago suburb when she made an unusual request. She wanted three weeks off for a pilgrimage to Mecca. The school district, faced with losing its only math lab instructor during the critical end-of-semester marking period, said no. Khan, a devout Muslim, resigned and made the trip anyway.

Obama's Department of Sharia filed an unusual lawsuit against the school system in December 2010, not to ensure the kids get a good education, mind you, but more importantly, to ensure that the Muslims get special rights and extraordinary accommodation.

This is the same DOJ's Holder who spoke at the Muslim Advocates dinner a few months back and reassured Muslims of "DOJ's anti-bias focus."
This is the same DoJ that scuttled the prosecutions against Muslim Brotherhood-tied groups, i.e. CAIR et al.
This is the same DOJ that is creating Muslim majority legislative districts by converting a religious class into a racial one.
This is the same DOJ's Holder who sued a New Jersey county demanding that a correction facility accommodate a Muslim employee's khimar, a religious head covering.
The Department of Justice sponsored a booth at the Muslim Brotherhood front ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) convention underwritten by, among others, the Muslim Brotherhood/Hamas-linked CAIR.
Further, Obama's Department of Justice dropped the "charges" against the Muslims who blew up the USS Cole.

A Muslim woman has won her fight against a west suburban school district after being denied unpaid leave to go on a religious pilgrimage to Mecca.
The U.S. Department of Justice on Thursday announced it settled Safoorah Khan’s religious discrimination lawsuit against the Berkeley School District, forcing the district to pay $75,000 in lost back pay, compensatory damages and attorneys’ fees.
The district also will have to develop a policy accommodating religions consistent with the Civil Rights Acts to ensure something similar will not happen again.
Khan, a teacher at MacArthur Middle School, requested an unpaid leave of absence in December 2008 to perform hajj — a pilgrimage required by Islam — but was told she had to choose between her job and her religious beliefs. She resigned.
“I’m glad that we settled and I hope this does set a precedent,” Khan said. “I hope they realize that hajj means a lot to Muslims and there will be more and more people taking the trip. I hope this helps people and their employers to accommodate Muslims and their requests.”

According to the settlement, the district must also provide mandatory training on religious accommodations to all board of education members and school supervisors.
Khan, now 30, says she went to Mecca, Saudi Arabia the year she resigned.
“It’s required once in our lifetime at the earliest opportunity you can get,” she said.
The solution is not to hire people who will likely leave their students flat to go to a place where most of their students would be discriminated against.

I would think the separation of church would make it illegal for this lawsuit to even be filed.correct me if im wrong. This is incomprehensible for me, I should have become a teacher, more holidays than anyone, summer off, 75,000 a year plus say your muslim and go on vacation at any time. Wow

These people got played/bullied. Their insurance covered the claim, so they settled. They probably didn’t have the funds to pay a lawyer to fight this and take it to court, plus they were afraid they might lose against the DOJ. Sad and disgusting.

being investigated by the House Government Oversight Committee?Why is the Muslim Brotherhood permited to function in this country? Whoever is on the Committee should be called and each caller should supply the legislator with a list of these DOJ actions against the American People.It’s our tax money that is supporting this department and these legislators.It’s apparent that unless these people are called, nothing happens.

A simple solution to problems like this might be to never hire a Muslim. And, like me, boycott any business that has Muslim employees and/or uses them in producing a product. Halal meat as an example. We do still have a few choices. I think.

Does this new ruling mean that Jewish teachers and Christian teachers have the right to visit Jerusalem for the Feast of Tabernacles, for one week, the feast of Passover for one week and the Feast of Weeks for one week. Three weeks in all. I woud like to see either one of these two main religious groups seek this time of with pay.

Violation of church and state? Failure to fulfill her contractual employment ?
She was employed to perform a job.She failed to do so and refused to complete the job she was paid to do.Children suffered for her selfish act.
Her pay and retirement should be garnished and tutors paid to educate the children who did not receive a consistent ,complete education.
The religious rights of one does not supercede the eduction of students she was responsible to educate.Teachers have over 3 months off work every year.She had plenty of time,opportunity and financial ability to make the trip without infringing on others rights.If muslims can not perform a job due to their beliefs ,it is not discrimination .She failed the school,distric and children when she refused to do a job she applied to do.She has her entire life to make that trip.

So let me get this straight. This woman was hired but was still on probation when she decided to take off for a religious holiday that could take place at any time of the year.
In most normal circumtances she would have failed her probation and therefore not qualify for the position.
Instead she gets $75,000.
I guess they don’t call America The Land of Opportunity for nothing.

There are two things this school board should do: 1) appeal the verdict 2) if they lose the appeal refuse the federal government’s order to pay the lawsuit. This will cause the story onto the main stream media right about mid campaign time. The Obama people are liberal leftest bastards but they are not dumb. A story like this is the last thing they want coming out right about at election time.

Gee, as an Orthodox Jew and public school teacher, can I ask for the month of April off so that I can spend Pesach in Israel. My new principal called to see if he had to let me have two days off for the holiday of Succos-he did. Now, I think I should be entitled to all of Chol Hamoed off since it really is a 7 day holiday!! Maybe I should get every Friday off in order to prepare for the Sabbath. Isn’t that my “right”? And maybe I should request kosher food in the cafeteria so I can have a school lunch. And, and, and….
Maybe I will call the DOJ and see if I have the “right” to expect mega accomodations from my job too!!

It’s required once in our lifetime Oh yeah?
Employers should be aware that apart from their own first hajj, employees may expect them to accomodate other hajj trips made either alone or escorting elderly or disbled relatives, male employees may ask to accompany female family members as a mahram, female employees may ask for a second hajj because they started menstruating during the first trip and could not complete hajj, and an employee may wish to make hajj as a proxy for someone who is unable to make the trip themselves.
A three week trip? The rituals of Hajj take normally 5 to 6 days.
In the UK it is common for people with Pakistani or Bangladeshi antecedants to go on hajj and then a follow-up holiday to visit relatives in their “home” village to celebrate, so they may want to be away from the workplace for up to six weeks.
Just wait until you are expected to accomodate polygamy and they ask for paternity leave for progeny from four wives.

I wonder how she treats her Jewish students. I wonder what she would do if one of them turned in a paper written about some Jewish holiday or about Israel.
Maybe we should start doing stuff like that. We can all, at every opportunity, write, do, or say something that honors Jewish people, the Jewish religion, or Israel; and if a muslim discriminates against us, we SUE THEM.
We can call it the “reverse jizya”.

I’ve NEVER seen a lawsuit by a Jewish college student who wants to play football, but can’t because Saturday is the Jewish sabbath.
Before long, there will be lawsuits by muslims who want to play high school football, but can’t because Friday is their sabbath.

Nothing this illegal immigrant president does is surprising anymore…for an Erkle look alike he has sure thrown multiple wrenches into the gears of America as we knew her. The whole premise that we would eagerly embrace communism and it’s socialistic agenda is so odd because everybody who lives long enough has to see that the changes he seeks are always achieved through the barrel of a gun…not through the democratic option of voting. We are so far away from government for and of and by the people! Now the Muslim agenda has been so emboldened that it is no longer hidden. I say, let Hussain Obama stand with his Muslim brothers…in Kenya. Since when does any first year teacher get a three week vacation within the school year?
Since when is an employer required to pay salary to a teacher to attend a relgious event when the teacher has not been employed long enough to have accrued the necessary time off?
Since when is a leave of absence to be given for a relgious event (Mecca Pilgrimage)that may be attended at any time in the persons life?
This was a set up which even useful idiots must realize they have been ensnared.

Meanwhile, back at DOJ, they are probably discussing how to further the muslim (obama’s)
cause by allowing more sharia law to creep into our lives. Only now it seems to be moving at a more invasive clip than ever. We all blog amongst ourselves, but I’ll bet that not much, if any, gets out via main stream media. When is the Conservative/sane front going to demonstrate. This is pretty scary and gets more so day by day.
