The Real Interviews: Statement from 911 Family Member on PBS Mosque Mockumentary

11

Last night, PBS ran the grotesque and dishonest mockumentary I described here on Ground Zero mosque grifter Sharif El-Gamal.

Rosaleen Tallon, brave voice and sister to hero, firefighter and 911 murder victim, Sean Tallon, had this to say about the PBS propaganda piece:

Nothing El-Gamal said throughout this whole documentary could erase how Mr. Hanson described that he can still sometimes feel his little granddaughter sitting into the crook of his elbow on his lap, although she was murdered ten years ago, along with his son and daughter-in-law on one of the hijacked planes.  No matter what El-Gamal said, those faces of the murdered that smiled out from those family pictures in the beginning, kept coming back into my mind.  I could not get the picture of my brother out of my mind as I watched El Gamal feeling sorry for himself.

Story continues below advertisement

El-Gamal can turn on and off those fake tears.  But yesterday, September 27, 2011 was my brother's birthday and he would have turned 37.  Yesterday, my mom shed a tear for Sean and all the possibilities that died with him 10 years ago.  Her tears are real.

It is still so painfully obvious that building a giant mosque and islamic cultural center at Ground Zero is like forcing a square peg into a round hole.    You may have the right to do it, but it is not the right thing to do.  That is why, Mr. El Gamal, it is all so hard for you.  It is just plain "not right".

Here is the real story. PBS posted some real interviews:

We spoke with Rosaleen Tallon, Charles Wolfe and Lee Hanson about their views on the project. Click on the name of each individual to read more about their loss and their perspective on the controversy.

She is the sister of firefighter Sean Tallon, who died on duty in the north tower.

“Don’t they realize that this is a very sensitive thing, that Sean was murdered down here by Islamic terrorists? He was murdered because some Islamic terrorists felt that Sean was an infidel. … I think that the people proposing to build this are being very intolerant of American traditions, the American tradition of honoring her hero dead.”

I love how you only quote Ms. Tallon and not Mr. Wolfe. Ms. Tallon agrees with you, and Mr. Wolfe does not. They are both people who lost loved ones on 9/11/2001, but you only care about the one whose position you can exploit to try and make people scared of Muslims.
Allow me to give Mr. Wolfe some space here:
“[my wife] was hit dead on. She was vaporized.
Q: When did you first hear about the so-called Ground Zero Mosque?
A: I didn’t even know about [the controversy] until I was called by a member of Community Board 1. I was asked, “Have you heard about this community centre they’re calling a Ground Zero mosque?” I said no, I haven’t.
[She] said, “how would you feel about a mosque being built a few blocks from Ground Zero?” And I said, “I don’t have any problem with it.” And she said, “Would you be willing to come down and speak on it?” I go, “Absolutely,” because I totally believe in freedom of religion, period. And just on the spot didn’t have to think about it. No, I don’t have a problem with it….
In my opinion, a lot of people were manipulated. The press just went all over this thing… In reality, there had already been a Muslim prayer center in that space, for over a year before this thing erupted. This whole thing was contrived by the far right, and it’s a shame, [an] absolute shame. …
This is called prejudice. Prejudice is when you take a single event, or a small collection of events and apply them too generally. This is prejudice. The vast majority of Americans have not had experience with Muslims. In fact the only experience of Muslims that they’ve had is through the television camera.
And the only Muslims that have gotten attention on television are the radical Muslims. So it’s no wonder people think this. They think they’re all like this. But they’re not…
Q: Does the notion of hallowed ground and Ground Zero extended for you beyond the footprints of the towers?
A: No, it’s not the footprints of the towers. I think it’s the 16 acres. Because let’s face it, debris was all over the place.
What are you going to do? Declare all over lower Manhattan? No, you define what it is. It’s a defined area. It is Ground Zero, those 16 acres. And within those sixteen acres we have a space for memorial and a memorial museum. And when you take a look at that, that’s a wonderful thing and we’re going to have a wonderful memorial there. … So we have our sacred ground. We [the families] got what we fought for and we fought very, very hard for it. Fought very hard for it. …
An Old Burlington Coat Factory building that had a part of the landing gear from United 175 flew over after crashing into Tower 2 and landed in there –that doesn’t make it sacred. Just because the landing gear from a quarter of a mile away ended up inside doesn’t make that building sacred. But people want to claim it is, because they want to use that claim of sacredness as a way to try to garner people’s emotions to want to stop this thing. …”
As a side note, Ms. Tallon is entitled to her grief, but when she says “I don’t know if their Muslim religion allows that type of allegiance to America, like my Catholic faith. I’m allowed to be completely American” it is really amusing; if she knew the history of the country she thinks Muslims should be so proud to be part of as to say ” ‘I put my American patriotic feeling about my fellow American that day ahead of my allegiance to my Islamic culture,'” she would realize that Protestant bigots accused Catholics of being loyal to the Pope over the US, and that the issue was not really laid to rest until the time of JFK.
Furthermore, I m amazed that she could say, “I get very upset when people start staying that we’re being intolerant… It’s so sad that’s it’s been made into this issue of bigotry. That’s convenient for the people on the other side to paint us as that. But if they got to know us, and if they really looked into the people who we loved and lost, they’d find out we were just regular people, ”
The fact is that the proposed Park51 facility is only offensive if one blames the religion of Islam and all its practitioners for 9/11. There are only two reasons for apportioning blame that way: 1) Bigotry; 2) ignorance. Given the lies that people like you, Ms. Geller, tell about islam and muslims on a regular basis, I usually prefer to err on the side of caution and assume that people are ignorant rather than bigots.

I’m very impressed by the transformation of Rosaleen Tallon in the last year and I’m still feeling what she expressed in the speech she gave at this year’s AFDI 9-11 memorial. It was incredible.
I also wanted to thank Pamela for introducing me to Joyce Kaufman, another very remarkable woman, during that event. I stayed up til 3AM listening to audios from her radio program, laughed my head off at her description of her trip to NYC and The Bronx.
Gd bless you PG.

These Muslims are following the American tradition of honoring dead heroes: the 10 dead terrorists.
Joseph, why don’t you just move to the middle east and join your Muslim buddies, provided they don’t take your head off. Freedom of Religion doesn’t include the right to massacre infidels as the “faith” prescribe. If the landing gear damaging a building isn’t part of ground zero, then what is? Your stupid argument is akin of saying if you’re not right under the nuclear bomb, but in the blast radius, then you won’t get vaporized. Using misguided beliefs of Protestants, which you show your bigotry by calling them bigots, about their prejudices about Catholics are straw man attacks since Muslims do actually want to kill us and they’ve openly admitted it. Not one Muslim group, NOT ONE, has spoke against those so called “radicals” that people like you claim they are. Where are the moderate Muslims that you claim the norm of Muslims are protesting or even as much as condemning the attacks? Perhaps you forget most of them openly celebrated dancing in the streets. Most in fact support them if you actually read the polls from their “cultures”. Perhaps you should learn some history. Muslims always, without exception, put victory mosques over conquered land and the towers they view as conquered (we haven’t rebuilt them) and that worship center that they intended to put on the 15th floor looks over the site and positioned such that to pray east towards Mecca is right in the path where the towers used to reside, or do you just think that’s a co-incidence? Frankly, Joseph, if that indeed is your real name since lying to infidels is divine, I don’t want to know any of you. We don’t trust you for a good reason, you’re evil and dishonest. Your regular people keep making demands to make your faith superior and above the laws and policies lay down by our secular government and authorities. Just look how your “regular people” behave in Dearborn, in the work place demanding we make way for your desire such as not handling meat or pork, no dogs in cabs, have their headscarf on dangerous rides or indentification, or going ballistic when someone hands out flyers decreed with “your people” So as for you, I find that you are both ignorant and a bigot so when accusing others of such, look in the mirror first.

Joseph, how dare you come on here and say that about Mrs. Tallon. She has every right to make her opinion known with regards to the GROUND ZERO MOSQUE! Just as you do and whomever else wants to talk about the subject.
The fact that she finds it insensitive is right in step with a MAJORITY of the American people and I suspect, many Muslims who live here as well!
I wonder, did you ever condemn those who were cheering when the towers fell? I highly doubt it. You probably tried to *understand* why they were cheering…and…and…thought about what America had done to make them feel that way.
And just an fyi, the Muslim religion DOESN’T allow that type of allegiance.
And looky here, you were able to come on here, state your opinion AND have it published! Imagine that!
And put to rest the tired ole’ line of “bigots” and “prejudice”. The shock value is gone with people such as yourself using it all…the…time. Yawn.
I found Rosaleen’s speech on 9/11 to be from the heart and bare with emotion. Thank you Rosaleen. Prayers to you and your family.

Joseph,
Isn’t religion supposed to be kind, considerate and loving ? How noble of you to admit someone has a right to their feelings. But How many of your relatives died there?
How is it kind, considerate, respectful or in the spirit of community to offend survivors of mass murder? Two opinions do not represent the survivors or family members.
100 muslims does not represent thousands in need of a swimming pool or a supposed multicultural center.
Where are the opinions of the Christians and Jews that muslims claim need this building? Who are all these mysterious people that absolutely must have this built,no matter how anyone feels?
And where are the thousands of muslims that so desperately need….a swimming pool ? Where are the thousands that are in such dire need of a multi prayer center that they can ignore other human beings suffering and grief? Who determined muslims had the right to dictate or judge human emotions by square feet or acreage ?
Yup muslims slaughtered 3000 innocent people and other muslims will kill more world wide today and tomorrow and the next day.It is not the victims job to determine which sect of Islam wants to build there. It is not their responsibility to investigate El-Gamal’s drunk driving, tax evasion or Rauf’s history of slum lording and hate speech to try to guess if they or the mosque members are fanatical ,extremists, fundamentalist or insane.
The survivors and families are simply hurt and in mourning. And it was a crime committed by muslims. If muslims can completely disregard facts, people’s misery, be so disrespectful ,greedy and self-righteous to ignore what the public is saying, then there is a serious problem in the muslim community .
Want to build something that benefits the community ? Try a stray animal rescue with a doggie daycare,a walking service with a pet friendly restaurant and a gymn for pets and owners.
With a statue and dedication to the rescue dogs of 9/11.

I am neither Christian nor Muslim. In fact I can honestly say that I am an atheiest, so I don’t have a biased eye when it comes to religion. I saw the Frontline episode “Man Behind the Mosque” on PBS a few minutes ago and was absolutely appaled by the mind set of El-Gamal. In my humble opinion, I don’t think I have seen a lower form of human in a long time. As he spoke about all his “problems” with getting his mosque built it made my blood boil. During the episode he refers to himself as a “shark”, and I couldn’t put it better myself. He also stated the he cant understand why his own people (muslims) won’t come forward to help him get the mosque built. Heres a clue for you Mr. El Gamal, mabye even your own people find building a mosque that close to ground zero is in such bad taste and disrespect that they don’t want anything to do with your project. Just a thought.
As I said I follow no religion, but have studied many. Being a neutral even I find putting a mosque that close to ground zero a disrespect to family’s who lost loved ones that horrible day and a total disrespect to the American people in general. If El Gamal was truly concerned or had the slightest shred of respect for the families of 9/11 he would drop the entire project and put his mosque somewhere else. I have no problems with people practicing their religion whatever it may be but that religion must have a respect for the community around them. I think if a mosque is needed then by all means build one. Build two!! Just not in a place that will not cause problems not only for Muslims who practice their faith without any ill effect toward anyone but for anyone who has ties to the Twin Towers. America is about tolerance, but it’s also about respect. Hopefully the light bulb will pop on for El Gamal.

What happened on September11, 2001 inspired me to study the Bible more in an attempt to find answers to the evil things that happened that day. In the Bible I found the mindset of those jihadists and murderers of September 11, as well as other Muslims who engage in militant. For it reads in Ecclesiastes 9:3 “The hearts of men are full of evil and there is madness in their hearts while they live, and afterwards they join the dead.” Furthermore, the jihadists who were members of al Qaeda who did those heinous actions on September 11, found out the hard way that their imams and mullahs were telling them falsehoods and lies about ending up in a paradise with 72 virgins. For instead they found they had a very harsh awaking by finding themselves suffering in hell. The imams and mullahs were giving them false teachings from the Quran about a place with virgins for their own use. Such a place was and is only one of the many “cleverly invented stories” of men, Second Peter 1:16,that are found in the in the Quran. Thus the jihadists of that day are now in hell with no hope. [NIV]

It needs to be repeated that the time has come and gone of the September 11, 2001 affront. What happened that day led me to study both the Bible and Islam more to find answers to the terrible things that occurred that day. What I found out was contrary to what some people falsely claim which is that those jihadists were just “criminals who hijacked the peaceful religion of Islam.” But in reality were real Muslims who were putting into practice one of the aspects of Islam according to the Quran. An example of this is found in Sura 47 of the Quran which teaches “When ye encounter the unbeliever strike off their heads, until ye have made a great slaughter among them. Verily if Allah pleased. He could take vengeance on them without your assistance, but He commandeth you to fight His battles.” Furthermore, the scenes of those Muslims around the world in different Islamic countries who were celebrating that abomination of what happened that day only shows the sad and evil spiritual condition of these people who follow the religion of Islam. To this the Bible teaches in Proverbs 17:5 “whoever gloats over disaster will not go unpunished.” And Jesus said “by their fruit you will recognize them.” Matthew 7:20. As for the Muslims who liked the jihadists who committed those heinous actions of mass murder and blamed the victims of that day for what happened, Proverbs 17:15 teaches “Acquitting the guilty and condemning the innocent-the Lord detests them both.” Also, Proverbs 28:4 reads “Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who forsake the law resist them. The passengers of United 93 certainly had resisted the al Qaeda members in that aircraft who were engaging in militant jihadism. Also, the American military fought and resisted those Islamic villains in Afghanistan who pot those jihadists up to that evil. In short, what those jihadists who were members of al Qaeda did on September 11, 2001 may be best described in Psalm 94:21 which reads “They band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death.” [NIV]

I finally had the chance to watch the program. What a thug that ShaTHIEF El-Gamal is. I mean, really. He’s laughing, joking. He thinks it’s funny?
I absolutely LOVED the last gentleman who spoke. He had met with ShaTHIEF-El Gamal to, I’m assuming, get him to change his mind about building there. ShaTHIEF wouldn’t even let the guy finish a sentence. But that man would have none of it.
I loved at the end when ShaTHIEF said he’d like the gentlema to meet his family and the guy said something like, “When this is over”. It was quite telling.
After watching that I have to say too that I don’t think it will ever happen. He’s got two people working for him and I think he’s probably having his way with that young girl who works for him. People can see through ShaTHIEF easily.
On another note, Pamela and Robert were excellent! The scene from one of the original meetings with the “dictators” was priceless! Simply wonderful! I was also happy to see Ms. Rosaleen on the program. She spoke so graciously but forcefully, all at the same time. I didn’t know all the details as it pertains to her brother but when she talked about it on the program it made me pretty sad. He sounded like a wonderful person. Unforgettable.

Someone should test this in court.
They dont have the right to build any mosque. A mosque is a declaration that this is an islamic country, under sharia. It is a declaration of Treason and Sedition against the United states.
The Espionage Act of 1917 imposed a maximum sentence of twenty years for anyone who caused or attempted to cause “insubordination, disloyalty, mutiny, or refusal of duty in the military or naval forces of the United States.” Over two thousand were convicted under the Act. One filmmaker was sentenced to ten years imprisonment because his portrayal of British soldiers in a movie about the American Revolution impugned the good faith of an American ally, the United Kingdom.[9] The Sedition Act of 1918 went even further, criminalizing “disloyal,” “scurrilous” or “abusive” language against the government.
Treason against the United States, shall consist only in waging War against them, or adhering to their Enemies, and giving them Aid and Comfort . . .” As in all the founding documents, “United States” is in the plural, signifying that the free and independent states were united in delegating certain enumerated powers for their own mutual benefit. Thus, “waging War against them” means the states. Waging war against the free and independent states is what constitutes treason under the U.S. Constitution. That’s why Lincoln’s invasion of the Southern states was the very definition of Treason.
