The Netherlands Becomes Third Eurabian country to Ban the Burka, after France and Belgium

Holland becomes the third European country to ban the burka. In other words, Islamic supremacism is not welcome there. Man your battle stations.

THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — The Dutch prime minister says the government has drawn up legislation to ban face-covering veils such as the burqa worn by some Muslim women.

Mark Rutte says the proposed ban will be sent to the government's legal advisory body, the Council of State, before lawmakers vote on it, a process likely to take months.

The government said in a statement Friday that the ban aims at "protecting the character and customs of public life in the Netherlands."

If, as expected, parliament approves the ban, the Netherlands will follow in the footsteps of European neighbors France and Belgium in outlawing face-covering veils.

Minister Donner thinks burqa in the Netherlands does not fit
Last update: September 16, 2011 5:23 p.m. Info
THE HAGUE – Face covering clothes like the burqa does not fit in the Netherlands. ”It goes against the way we interact with public space: recognizable and approachable.”
This was Prime Minister Piet Hein Donner (Interior) Friday after the cabinet.
The government wants to wear a burka, a face veil, an opaque full-face helmet and a balaclava in public, punish with a fine of up to 380 euros. There is nothing strange, showed Donner’s words:”You must not stripped naked in the streets.”
Donner said that 98 percent of Muslim women who are walking around without a burqa. So whether it’s so important for Islam, but the demand was reflected in his words. ”And not everything that you are relying on religious freedom, you can also do it.”
That only a small group who wears a burqa (probably about 150 women “full time”), is no reason not to use it to address. You have to tackle a problem before it becomes large.

I’ve been waiting breathlessly for this to come to a peak for years now, and finally they’re getting it done for heaven’s sake !
But isn’t something missing here —I mean how about remembering someone who instigated the idea in the first place ? As anyone knows who’s been tuned in to what’s happening these days in Europe, the burqa and other bans concerning Islamism have been kicked around yearly and daily for some time now. I think it was France’s Sarkozy who crystalized the idea in 2008 and drew the line on burqa and other Islamic garmets and symbols. Of course there was an uproar for awhile, but then usually 80 % percent of the population is ignorant about these things. At least 4 other countries talked about the same kind of ban (s).
The person that instigated these ideas , was, of course, Geert Wilders and he proposed it about 4 years ago. He’s been stuborn about acheiving his goal and pushing it relentlessly all that time.
I remember last year in October the subject was in full focus again and there were all kinds of clashing opinions and heated arguements over not just the bans but Wilders himself. He wanted to ban the headwear of Muslim wonen and tax headscarves, restrict immigration, ban the building of mosques ,expected immigrants to pay for their own integration courses etc. etc. That hate of him hasn’t really gone away BTW . And so it goes. I wonder when people will gain enough perspective to realize that he’s doing them a favor instead of an injustice ?
But the signs are pretty good —and hopefully continue to pick up momentum . I’m actually shocked though, that the Dutch are coming around to understanding and getting something done. But those fires of anti-Islamization are being stolked nowaday in the European countries.
One thing I wish they’d all do , however, is to stop, when asked WHY the burqa should be banned, giving pseudo-or half-baked reasons for the ban. They are always giving “practicle ” reasons for not wearing it : it is not safe, it is inconvenient, and so on. The main reason really is that that way of dressing is a symbol of oppression of women, of injustice towards females of the species, a representation of ancient religious tyranny , and an imposistion on a non-Muslim society. Holland and those other small countries are NOT improved in any way by the sight of black burqas and towering mosques blocking the view . Wilders and others like him want Holland to remain Holland and France to remain France etc. I hope the people wake up and stand behind those who are trying to stop that pollution.
There are many, many more articles on the Dutch burqa ban besides this one Atlas shows and most of them mention Wilders name and party .
