Islamizing the Curriculum: Selling Misogyny to Children

35

UPDATE: Laura Armstrong, columnist for the Marietta (Georgia) Daily Journal, reminded me that Hal Medlin, the parent who exposed this outrage, is in Cobb County (north suburb of Atlanta), while the lesson plan (below) is on the Henry County website (south suburb of Atlanta). So the question of how widespread is this lesson is partially answered through our research. It's being used in at least two of the most populous suburban counties in Georgia.

Here's the link to the e-mail addresses for their board. Atlas readers, your job for today is to explain to the school board politely what is wrong with using this material.

The last line: "I feel very fortunate that we have the Sharia." (Georgia public school lesson)

Have a look at the Georgia lesson plan for children I reported on here, This document  is hosted on a public school district's official website. http://schoolwires.henry.k12.ga.us/437720430143529100/lib/437720430143529100/My_Name_is_Ahlima.pdf
(thanks to Kamala)

The actual school district web site is here: http://schoolwires.henry.k12.ga.us/henry/site/default.asp
I have taken screenshots of everything, because as soon as I expose this dawah, the school official quislings take them down. So they know that what they are promoting is wrong.

Ahlima's story in all its glory. Is it any wonder that parents protested?

This should be sent to Georgia senators Chambliss and Isakson, congressmen here, Governor Deal, etc. Atlas readers, it is up to you to root out this insidious subversion. You must shine the light on this inculcation and raise a ruckus. You are the freedom cop on the beat in your neighborhood. Where you see freedom threatened, fight back. I will help you.

I suggest polite notes be sent to the superintendent here. This is not education, this is proselytizing. It is time our children were taught about the 270 million victims of over a millennium of jihadi wars, land appropriations, cultural annihilations and enslavements. And the systematic dehumanization of women, honor killings, clitorectomies …….

Bear in mind that these letters are fictitious. Propaganda created to softsell misogyny. Where is the caning? Where is the prohibition of women leaving the house without a male family member? Where is the prohibition of women driving?

Saudi Arabia has strict laws on male guardianship and sex segregation.  Male guardianship simply means that every female must have a male guardian who has authority over her on practically everything. In March this year, a court in Saudi Arabia sentenced a 75-year old widow from Syria now living in Saudi Arabia to 40 lashes of the cane, 4 months imprisonment, and deportation from Saudi Arabia for violating the sex segregation rule.

From my book, Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance:

Islamic supremacist groups have for quite some time consulted with public school textbook publishers and made sure that material presented on Islam was heavily slanted, even to the point of proselytizing. Combine that with the anti-Western multiculturalist bias of the publishers themselves, and the result is a large number of public school textbooks that denigrate Judeo-Christian Western civilization and portray Islam in a glowingly positive light.
The American Textbook Council, an independent national textbook monitoring organization, issued a report in 2008 that showed that many commonly used public school textbooks “present an incomplete and confected view of Islam that misrepresents its foundations and challenges to international security.” For example, the popular middle school text Across the Centuries defines jihad as a struggle “to do one’s best to resist temptation and overcome evil.”122 Another middle school text in common use, History Alive! The Medieval World and Beyond, is just as distorted: “Muslims should fulfill jihad with the heart, tongue, and hand. Muslims use the heart in their struggle to resist evil. The tongue may convince others to take up worthy causes, such as funding medical research. Hands may perform good works and correct wrongs.” Not a word about war, conquest, or subjugation.[….]

In May 2010, the Islamic Web site Sound Vision published a six- step plan by the founding director of the Council on Islamic Education, Shabbir Mansuri, on how to pressure public school authorities into allowing special accommodation for Muslims. These included “knowing what laws and regulations govern the issue of religious accommoda- tion”—Islamic groups make skillful use of government directives requiring reasonable accommodation of religious practices. Mansuri also directed Muslims to make friends with a teacher and enlist him or her as an ally, even inviting the teacher over for dinner; to “leave a paper trail, but first, be really nice” (at first!); and to repeat these steps as necessary with the school principal and even the district superintendent. The Muslim complainant is never to give up until the concessions are granted.
If this guide shows us anything, it’s what idiots they take us for. This is, of course, an outrage. None of this should be introduced into the public school. If this is what Muslim parents want, they should send their children to madrassah.
This Islamic supremacist was directing Muslims to make friends with teachers and education officials in order to use them, and to take advantage of procedures and practices instituted by short-sighted American multiculturalists to gain yet another advantage for Islam.
The freedom fighter need not and should not resort to such subter- fuges. But you can and should learn from the opposition. You should be no less informed, determined, and persistent.

There’s a huge amount of this stuff going on in schools throughout all the Western countries the Muslims are trying to subvert. Patriotic parents should stay vigilant for attempts to brainwash their children: http://crombouke.blogspot.com/2010/01/islamic-infiltration-and-subversion-of.html

I understand your concern in this matter, Pamela. Children are easy to propagandize because they have no context, no defenses (intellectual or emotional) to resist indoctrination. But this attempt to propagandize can and will back-fire big time. Look at Solzhenitsyn who was indoctrinated re Communism and became a nightmare for the USSR. In some ways he lit the fuse that ended in the collapse of the USSR. He was a member of the Young Pioneers (sort of a Boy-Scouts for Stalinists-a good little Communist), but when he became a man he used his intellect to dismantle the propaganda and indoctrination.
The same will happen re Islamic indoctrination. One can put shit in a fancy package, but the content is still shit.

Well, I’ll say one thing. That was definitely educational. Just not the education that author, or should I say writer since this is fiction, intended. I learn if I want to keep my children from being indoctrinated or brain washed to be a subjected serf, keep them out of public school which my ex has done.

I wonder how much the Saudis must spent to get this propaganda piece inserted into the curriculum? Make no mistakes about it the stealth jihad is more effective and far worse than the violent jihad.

Islam-aware parents must find out whether this garbage is in their schools and, if it is, root it out, expose it, have the content of these lesson plans printed and exposed in their local media and if they won’t do the job hang it from the telephone poles. Don’t request. Demand. This is not just “multiculturalism” or even mysogyny. This is the rationalization and soft-selling of the enslavement of women as a viable option to Western children. It must be exposed and stopped.
I notice that the lesson plan provides a space for the children to write their own reactions to the lessons. Parents and other Islam-aware school watchers must make sure that children who protest and reject this b.s. are not penalized by the PC multiculti products of our so-called teachers colleges for not providing the “approved” responses.

Oh, by the way, multiculturalists; if all cultures are equal, why do you always say America stinks?

It will be interesting to see what the response is following the investigation by the school in Georgia. This was, in my opinion, a poor choice of material to foster a discussion about dress codes.
That said, anything can be taken out of context, and it appears that the school did just that with this lesson material. A quick Google search of “InspirEd Educators, Inc.” (who, as can be clearly seen on the PDF linked from the OP, own the copyright to the material) turns up a small company run by two women out of Roswell Georgia. Further, the “My Name is Alima” document is part of a larger “Everything You Need to Teach the Middle East” curriculum, which, in addition to the Alima document includes other teaching materials on geography, history (including Christianity and Judaism), government and economics. While I was unable to view the curriculum itself, It would appear that this was hardly designed to promote Islam or the Islamification of the school system.
I would hazard a guess that the authors never intended for this material to be used out of the context of the whole, for the very reason that it could be misconstrued to support a particular point of view, as has obviously happened. They may even be within their rights to sue the school for violation of copyright.

Islam is powered by sexual repression and warped sexuality.
It’s noteworthy that Mohammed began his career in Mecca as a sexual parasite, but when he moved to Medina he became stronger and developed into a sexual predator, changing the Koran as he did so.
Similarly, Muslim communities in the West start as welfare-supported polygamous parasites, but once they become strong enough, they develop the predatory features, with criminality, including gang-rape and pedophilia, used as a weapon of jihad against the surrounding infidels.

Pamela wrote:

In my view the Muslims came to us and brought Islam. In their countries they oppress the minorities and prohibit freedom of speech, thus giving much power to Islamic propaganda, from the cradle to grave. Well, let this “opposition” be an inspirator for us, counter-jihadists, who do have the BATI, Better Alternative To Islam; the whole democratic system, allowing science to flourish.
We Democratic citizens know that the big mass of people in democratic nations are asleep, very ignorant, political correct often. But we can emulate the strong parts of the opposition and unite, we can in the long term even get more children and demand OUR OWN schools, like the Muslims sometimes do. We can determine that the number of dedicated Democratic Citizens, very committed, matches the number of Muslims. when we establish a reaction equivalent or bigger to the actions of the Muslims, they in effect become our MOTOR, inspiration. Because we DO KNOW that for mankind there is a better governing and educational system than Islam, even if the sleeping majority does not care, and does not defend it.

In my opinion, there’s nothing “misconstrued” about it. The text says what it says. It’s obviously pure propaganda and misinformation, and half-truths. Like you, I would love to see the material on history (including Christianity and Judaism), government and economics. I wouldn’t be surprised if that was as biased and distorted as well. And whether or not that company is small – run by two women – or has a thousand employees makes no difference whatsoever. Right is right and wrong is wrong.
And where are those noisy feminists on this?

I will never understand the degree of intellectual duplicity that liberals must employ in order to insist that the West tolerate the most intolerant religion in the world. Do the textbooks also put forth the practice of stoning a woman to death for adultery, the fact that most women are not permitted to drive nor even appear in public without the permission or escort of a male relative, etc? In the likely-to-exist chapters of said textbooks extolling the equality of gay relationships and marriage, do the textbooks have a footnote alerting the young readers to the fact that Ahlima’s gay brother would be executed if found out?

This course material is intended to silence Western critics of the treatment of women in Islamic countries and normalize Muslim women wearing this kind of dress in North America by communicating the message that Muslim women welcome it. It communicates a morally (if not theologically) supremacist attitude. “Ahlima” basically says we dress like sluts and have no power or identity beyond being an object of men’s pleasure. By premptively shaming Western women and girls, they render us less likely to question or criticize how Muslim women are treated. However, the concept of immodesty isn’t limited to short skirts or belly tops. Not covering one’s head or arms is also considered immodest.
And, of course, the “Big Love” endorsement of polygamy is intended to serve the same purpose — to normalize and set the stage for the practice of polygamy in the United States. Islamic polygamy isn’t oppressive. It’s wonderful. It doesn’t matter if it’s largely predicated on a woman’s failure to conceive a child (because the man couldn’t possibly be responsible) or to satisfy his needs. Even though the need for more wives is the first wife’s fault, it’s a magnificent, egalitarian institution that Muslim women want and thrive in. So the message again is that we can’t question or criticize the treatment of women under Islam because they are living the life they want and they love Sharia. (And we dress like sluts).
But where is the “testimony” and corresponding social science exercise regarding the women in Saudi Arabia (or any other country for that matter) who don’t want to live that way? What happens when they resist? What happens when they want to drive a car? What happens when they want to go to school or get a job? What happens when they want to choose their own husband? What happens when their husband abandons them or dies? Does “Ahlima” have nothing to say about what happens when she talks back to her husband-to-be? What would happen to “Ahlima” if she uncovered her head in public?
Pranam to Hal Medlin for uncovering this and, as always, to Pamela for letting the rest of us know. I’m not sure the school superintendent or publisher will be all that interested in what this Montreal girl has to say, but I will do my part.

This goes way beyond teaching our children modesty of dreess. It is teaching Islam. I gave a calm letter to the shcool. I espounded on the lessons goal in of itself is good, but without any illegal practices, such as pologamy using a country that has human rights issues, especially with in giving women equality (sent in the US State Dept’s findings on Saudi human rights violations)and not to teach a religion or its’ ideologies.
It was all I could do to not throw in there some…you blind politically correct un-American nitwits. How dare you delibertly lie to our children with the sole purpose of teaching them Islam under the guise of muticulterism and using a tool such as modesty to insert the brainwashing.
Man, am I angry at this! I ended the letter with the importance of teaching human rights and equality under the law and to use our Constituion as the model. “Teaching the human rights and equalities as found in our Constitution will teach our children that all people are equal under the law and will cause them to grow into well balanced young adults knowing what is right and what is wrong”.

While a rich man in Saudi Arabia can have many wives, a poor man is even less likely to get one wife, making his life that of a slave and ripe for becoming a jihadi. And does this “lesson” explain honor killings and needing 4 witnesses for a woman to prove in court she was raped?

I suppose I should be grateful for one small blessing: Pamela’s honesty in writing that she and fellow U.S. NeoCons openly support “American hegemony” around the globe. There was a time not too long ago that U.S. conservatives (or at least Republicans) didn’t want to hear their foreign policy described as “imperialism” even though that term largely fit the bill. By contrast, Pam and her gang don’t try to blow smoke up anyone’s hiney; they really are convinced that the United States (read: U.S.-based multinationals and their corporate boards) ought to run the world. It therefore comes as no surprise that their chauvinism is as potent as any chauvinism around.
I mean, hey, I understand patriotism and belief in your own cultural values. Nobody’s going to convince you (not even cultural stealth jihadi bogeymen) to change your feelings about the society in which you live. The problem is trying to ignore or demonize all other value systems or cultural beliefs while clinging to the conviction that only your view of the world could possibly be correct, righteous, or sensible. If you don’t think that middle school students have the smarts to read critically and react independently to the sort of text featured in this article, you are neither giving them much credit nor helping them to develop those smarts by exposing them to varied cultural, social, or national opinions.
And if you don’t believe that every society around the world, including the U.S.A., has some kind of moral or practical weaknesses, then you’re just fooling yourself.

Wonderful, the child is given a place to answer the question “WHY” Ahlimer thinks women are treated well in her country. Lots of possibly correct answers:
1. Because she is brainwashed,
2. Because she is afraid of responsibility,
3. Because she was brought up as a 7th. century woman,
4. Because she has been lied to (about western women),
5. Because she knows no better,
6. Because she doesn’t actually exist … except as a male ideal of Saudi women.

the situation is way past patriotism, nationalism, socialism or any other kind of ism. today the muslim leaders all over the world BELIEVE they are winning the war to subjugate us, the people of occidental democracies: it is about our freedom. we too have not been free for the greater part of our existence, remember? we just have to go back a hundred years to see that only the aristocracy and the rich were free–and women were chattle(cattle!).having reached this unheard of level of freedom, we find our leaders engaged in doing everything they can to destroy our freedom. ever since education became universal in our democracies we have considered the three rs the pillars of education;reading,(w)riting,`rithmatic.a fourth pillar needs to be added: reason. but even that will not help us against those who will not see…i am not worried about islam, i am worried sick about those among us who will not see, those who prefer to send us to jail rather than to see… even amongst jews there are too many who will not see…

I don’t even know where to begin, but your comments, the way you perceive this
spectacle is dangerous!
There are young Muslim ladies, in fact, right here in the USA, dying
at the hands of their own dads, you are aware of that, wasteofaheartbeat,
aren’t you? Yes, I’ll say it again, murdered by their own fathers and even
brothers and uncles. That’s not to be accepted or tolerated.
It’s not a “weakness” in the muslim culture. It’s a common practice.
Woman are possessions. Weakness???? Derangement syndrome!
This Islamic culture is especially adept at slaughtering human life.
I don’t think Americans or westerners can candy coat it with your perspective
“moral or practical weakness.” That’s just dangerous!
If I base my understanding on Islam on anything at all,
this one issue alone, honor killing, is all I need to know about Islam.
These people don’t belong in the west. They belong together in the sandy
pits of hell where they were hatched.
Oh and I don’t want to forget to make mention of their other weakness,
ramming planes into buildings filled with innocent life.
My own husband could have been murdered on 9/11. Thank my good Lord
he was not.
So take your “societal weakness” concept with you on a one way ticket to
Islamabab and don’t let the door to the USA hit you in the A$$ on the way out!
One down, how many other bleeding A$$ liberals left to go?

I don’t know what age group this lesson was to be taught to.
However, I hate to say this but I almost appreciate Brittany Spears.
Good luck trying to win western children away from the attraction
to pop icons and pop culture. Everything pop culture is about, is
embraced by western youth. Good luck with Ahlima being an influence.
It won’t happen. I will bet children view her as a sad and unhappy
person who is lying about her happiness.
I remember being a child and I remembered thinking about how
wierdness like strange clothing and strange
customs scared me to death.
I used to get the heebeejeebees just starring at the different
cultures here in New York and being so relieved that I wasn’t a part
of some of those extreme ones.
I saw sunny days and happiness with my way of life as a child.
I loved my orange bell bottoms and cool clothes and how I wore
my hair. I loved the seventies when I was a kid.
When children from very orthodox families were in school or around
town, I thought, omgoodness, thank heavens I don’t have to live like that!
That was 40 years ago.
Kids today are far more interested in pop culture and much more
advanced than we were so many years ago.
These Muslims will have a way to go before they ever change any of that.
I am sure kids today get the heebeejeebee’s when they see youth like Ahlima
wearing that black sack and saying that she’s happy! I bet they think, that’s
some SCARY stuff!

You’ll be overjoyed to know that I have no intention of visiting the U.S. any time soon, particularly with the current political climate. On the flipside, you shouldn’t be claiming any rhetorical victory when all you present is a diatribe replete with straw-man arguments and false assumptions.
I never downplayed the seriousness of so-called “honour killings” nor did I describe those horrific acts as “cultural weaknesses”. My point was that *no* society on this earth is faultless but online NeoCons such as you, especially those in the U.S.A., seem to believe that your collective feces don’t stink.
Stop and consider for a moment how many women in the U.S. suffer unspeakable violence at the hands of supposedly red-blooded, upstanding, Caucasian men. Think about people such as Warren Jeffs who use some twisted form of Christianity to justify what is essentially pedophilia. Think about the rapists in your country who try to rationalize their brand of brutality against women by claiming that their victims dressed or acted “like they wanted it”. It’s goose and gander, Madeleine: if you want to decry, and justifiably perhaps, the “Islamic injustices” against women that you cite then you’d better be prepared to take a good look at the violence against women in your own culture that is born not of Islam or even no religious belief at all.
I’m not selling any sort of “moral relativism” that NeoCons complain about so frequently; murderers deserve having the broom handle of justice put so far up their backsides that they choke on it, in my book. But demonizing Islam while ignoring the same kinds of transgressions in other cultural or religious contexts just doesn’t hold up to independent scrutiny. If your “enemy within” is misogyny and violence against women, then it will come in the person of not only the stealth jihadist of your nightmares but the boy who beats his girlfriend, the husband who kills his wife, or the college student who drugs and rapes his classmate, and any one of them is as likely to be Caucasian and U.S.-born as anything else.

By the way, your little paragraph quoted below outlines the serious LACK of
reason and logic you display. To say that *no* society is faultless
at the same time defending Islam while on the subject of honor killings
PROVES how drunk you are with liberalism.
Just so you know, Mr. Waste, the USA is picking up the rope, by

it out of the hands of Islamic pursuit. Like every cultural war, leave it

You really think that you can beat other people’s arguments to death with straw men and ad hominem attacks, Madeleine? If anyone is working him or herself into a lather, it’s you.
In criticizing your inflexible chauvinism I am not defending Islam or any action taken in its name. I’m just criticizing your inflexible chauvinism and that of your fellow NeoCons. What you call patriotism is more like jingoism, and I’m glad that my love of country is different than yours.
George W. Bush famously tried to play Jesus Christ when he said, “You are either with us or against us”. Of course, he was nowhere near as important to human history as Jesus and Bush had no right to invoke those words simply to insulate his political doctrine from criticism. And yet NeoCons still seem to feel that their political and social view of the world is akin to the Gospel.
My logic or reasoning is not faulty simply because you say so; your logic or reasoning, such as it is, merely rejects out of hand any opposing view. The online NeoCon echo chamber may eat it up but don’t expect the whole world to buy what you’re selling. Unless it’s at gunpoint, since the U.S. military and intelligence services are so adept at slaughtering human life.

My final sentence is simply a mildly sarcastic re-working of Madeleine’s earlier criticism of Islam. Madeleine appeared to have chosen to ignore the mortal violence visited upon perfectly innocent people in other parts of the world by the U.S. military and various government agencies; I chose to remind Madeleine that violence committed in the name of Islam is pretty much the same as violence committed in the name of promoting the business success of U.S.-based multinationals.
Learn to read English more attentively. I do not support or condone the violence about which you are complaining. I just can’t stand ideologues who turn their political views into sacred beliefs and so you’ve got me poking holes in your precious, chauvinist, jingoist faith in the conservative U.S.A.

The problem with “My Name Is Ahlima” is that it is full of lies promoting Islam. Very little has been said of this in the local media. Most of this blogs comments show an ignorance of Islam. I just wonder what the media would have done if this had been a story promoting Christianity. So much for separation of church and state!
In the document Ahlima says she lives in Saudi Arabia and that women there are well respected and have many opportunities. She says she is 20 years old and her 35 year old husband has been chosen for her as prescribed by Islam. She says she has the right to refuse. What she doesn’t say is that any woman who refuses is subject to be killed for disrespecting their families. “Honor” killings of women can be defined as acts of murder in which a woman is killed for her actual or perceived immoral behavior and are common in Islamic culture.
Ahlima teaches that “the role of the husband is to protect his wife and the role of the wife is to obey her husband.” She teaches that Muhammad “intended to raise the position of women” in allowing polygamy and that he was “very loving to women.” She says that she is protected by Sharia, stating that “if our marriage has problems, my husband can take another wife rather than divorce me, and I would still be cared for.”
Here is what her religion actually teaches:
“Allah permits you to shut them in separate rooms and to beat them, but not severely. If they abstain, they have the right to food and clothing. Treat women well for they are like domestic animals and they possess nothing themselves. Allah has made the enjoyment of their bodies lawful in his Koran.” Tabari IX:113)’
“Allah has made men superior to women because men spend their wealth to support them. Therefore, virtuous women are obedient, and they are to guard their unseen parts as Allah has guarded them. As for women whom you fear will rebel, admonish them first, and then send them to a separate bed, and then beat them. But if they are obedient after that, then do nothing further; surely Allah is exalted and great!” Koran 4:34
Aisha, the most beloved of the Muslim prophet Muhammad’s many wives was 9 years old when she married the prophet. She admonished women in no uncertain terms to submit: “O womenfolk, if you knew the rights that your husbands have over you, every one of you would wipe the dust from her husband’s feet with her face.” Quoted in al-Hashimi, The Ideal Muslimah
Muhammad was not “loving to women”, he was lustful of women, especially to those who were captives to his great conquest. It was completely fine with him to kill the husbands and take the women and children as sex slaves. The practice of rape of unbelieving females is still widely practiced in the Islamic world.
To Muhammad a woman was nothing more than an animal. In his last great sermon to the believers he is quoted by Tabari, an eminent Islamic historian as proclaiming, “Treat women well, for they are [like] domestic animals (‘awan) with you and do not possess anything for themselves. You have taken them only as a trust from God, and you have made the enjoyment of their persons lawful by the word of God, so understand and listen to my words, O people.”
Polygamy is rooted in the Islamic holy book, “If ye fear that ye shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, marry women of your choice, two or three or four…” Koran 4:3. So too is divorce. A Muslim man is able to divorce any of his wives simply by saying “I divorce you” or “You are divorced.” Reliance of the Traveller, n3.2. The Koran stipulates only that a man wait for a suitable interval in order to make sure that his wife is not pregnant. ‘Reliance of the Traveller, n9.0. If the divorcing couple has any children, they ordinarily go with the father, and he owes his wife no financial or any other kind of support. ‘Reliance of the Traveller, m11.10 (1).
Everyone in our great country has the right to believe whatever they wish. If you wish to believe in Islam then do so. Just teach what you truly believe. The problem with Islam is that it teaches its adherents to say whatever is necessary, even if it is a lie, to the unbelievers in order to promote their goal of world domination. That is what this paper is, a lie. Our goal as Americans should be to prevent this type of indoctrination to take place upon our children.

Textbooks also highlighted the practice of stoning a woman to death for adultery, the fact that most women are not allowed to drive.
