Saturday Night Cinema: Israel, Birth of a Nation

10

Saturday Night Cinema feature is a documentary, Israel: Birth of a Nation, made by the History Channel and one of our generation's leading scholars on the subject matter, Sir Martin Gilbert. The Muslim lies have become so pervasive and repeated that the truth is little known or spoken of. I recently finished Gilbert's In Ishmael's House: A History of Jews in Muslim Lands — if you are unfamilar with his work, start reading. Being here in the holy land, I thought it an appropriate choice.

This documentary made by the History Channel and Gilbert is a good introduction. Bear in mind, Arab is the euphemism for Muslim. And missing from this account is:

Story continues below advertisement

the  Arab [Muslim] League's  political or Islamic theological explanations for the refusal to accept a new Arab state alongside the Jewish one.

There's only the demand of Transjordanian King Abdullah I–that Israel submit to Muslim rule, or face war.

Also missing are any extant archival radio or news clips of Arab exhortations to flee–or destruction of Israel. Possibly only the news clips survive, but the documentary missed an important opportunity to air them.

Finally, while Jewish immigration from Arab nations is mentioned in passing, the forced exodus of nearly one million Jews from Arab and Muslim nations is not reported here, nor is Israel's absorption of their vast majority. That's unfortunate, since Middle Eastern Jews had lived in Arab and Muslim countries for thousands of years.

But it covers much history:

The legends of the stolen land and "ethnic cleansing" are hard if not impossible to support if you carefully step through the evidence presented here by one of the most respected English-speaking historians of the century.

The issue here is not a political issue, but a “religious” issue because Muslims consider all of Israel, indeed all land Muslims have ever conquered (Spain e.g.), as Muslim land forever. Hamas openly states that Tel Aviv (which was sand dunes before the Israelis made it a city) is to be theirs.
Muslims, such as the nut in Iran or Hamas, consider Israel as an existential threat to Islam because if they do not destroy Israel that makes Allah just the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain. That’s the issue. Allah is the god that failed if Israel is not wiped out.
The real problem is not Israel, it is Islam-which is foot-binding for the head. Any rational approach to this issue (and I concede that I view things from a pretty typically American point of view) would be to see the opportunity the Jewish State is for the Arab world in terms of political-system and economics. But all that all goes poof before the dogmas of Islam.
Americans have to realize that there will be no political solution to this issue-no negotiated settlements-no deals. Muslims don’t want deals-they want Israel destroyed because Allah orders it. Muslims are just following orders.

Did you know that Ron Paul is the only GOP candidate who supports stepping completely out of the way for Israel to deal with Iran in any way it sees fit? Military action? No business of the United States. Nuclear option? No business of the United States. Only Ron Paul stands for that, and only Ron Paul stands for the Constitution. Of course, sharia law is completely opposite of the Constitution and is completely UN-Constitutional, so only Ron Paul has an official policy which is opposed to sharia law. ONLY Ron Paul.
You all think about that. You think about that hard.

And by the way, only Ron Paul stands for complete defunding of ALL aid programs to muslim countries, and will ACTUALLY leave muslim countries with the military, because now the MISSION HAS BEEN ACCOMPLISHED. Only Ron Paul will do that and not give them one more penny of American aid.
You think about that. You think about that hard.

Israel is the canary in the coal mine. Yes, they want Israel destroyed – first.
Then they will destroy the rest of us. So it is absolutely essential that ALL infidels – Christian, Sikh, Hindu, Buddhist, Pagan, Secularist or whatever – support the continued existence of Israel.
If they ever do destroy Israel, they will be so emboldened by visible proof that Allah is on their side that there will be no stopping them.
Here’s the infidels’ complete guide to Islam. Please spread it around.

This was a very interesting film. Thanks for giving us the chance to see it. Sean was right, as Israel goes, so does the rest of western civilization.

I didn’t know that about King Abdullah I. I had thought he was murdered by his fellow muslimes (on the Temple Mount) for suggesting peace was possible between the Jewish people and Islam.
The documentary sounds like another whitewashing of Islamonazi imperialism — but then again, National Geographic has been doing that for the last 60+ years.

I agree with you.
I have been thinking re the false premise (“the Jews stole our land”) peddled by many Muslim Arabs. It is a fallacy on two levels:
1) The Zionists, before 1948, bought land from Arabs (many of the Arab owners were absentee landlords), and the Jewish settlers made the land very productive (via technology). The former Muslim Arab landlords then proceeded to incite Arab peasants to violence against the Jewish settlers claiming the Jews “stole the land.” It’s nonsense: there was no forced taking of Arab land by Jews prior to 1948.
2) The war that commenced in the late 1940s did result in the expulsion (“no right of return”) of huge numbers of Arabs. But those are the rules of war. For example: Jewish people lived in what is present day Iraq (Mesopotamia) from the time of the Babylonian captivity, long before there were any Arabs there. Arabs (and other Muslims) don’t assert any prior non-Muslim people the Arabs conquered should have a ” right of return.”
In the matter of Arab territory conquered by the Jewish people after 1948, the Arabs lost wars they launched against Israel. Israel owes nothing to the Arabs re conquered Arab territory.

Throughout all of history (everywhere) the rules of war are that “to the victor belong the spoils.” The Muslim Arabs, and The Muslim Turks won wars and conquered territory kept by them was kept by them.
Are the Turks ready to return Turkey to the Greeks? Then why the BS re land conquered by Israel?
The lesson Arab Muslims and other Muslims have to learn here is this: don’t launch wars you can’t win. Next time Muslims launch a war against Israel the Jewish people will annex Sinai and more.
The Arab Muslims and other Muslims had better stop acting like big-babies in this matter. The Jewish people did not “steal Arab land.” The Jewish people either bought land (prior to 1948) or took former Arab lands based on the rules of war. Israel won three wars that were launched against them by Arab Muslims.
The Muslim Arabs need to grow-up.

Final word on this:
I agree with Sarah Palin that the Jewish people have nothing to apologize on it his matter. I just wish an Israeli PM oar US president would just tell the Muslim Arabs where to get off in this; “look, your people sold land to the Zionists. Then it the late 40s and afterward you launched three wars against Israel. You lost those wars. To the victor belong the spoils. You Muslims have practiced that (“to the victor belong the spoils”)throughout your history. Stop the BS and come to an understanding with Israel. You will lose even more territory (and deserve to lose it) if you don’t face reality on this.”
