Just seven short years after Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld called the broadcaster’s reporting “vicious, inaccurate and inexcusable” and President George W. Bush joked about bombing it, Columbia University is bestowing upon Al-Jazeera its top journalism prize. Goebbels would be so pleased.
The overtly covert — or is that covertly overt? — propaganda war against the West is being waged on all fronts, but no organization has done as much to spread hate, lies and incitement to violence as Al-Jazeera. Al-Jazeera is the leading terrorist propaganda organization in the world. Jihad murder mastermind Anwar al-Awlaki has praised Al-Jazeera, and several years ago one of its most prominent reporters was arrested on terror charges. Al-Jazeera also has for years been the recipient of numerous Al-Qaeda videos featuring bin Laden, Zawahiri, and American traitor Adam Gadahn. Yet they never seem to be able to trace where these videos are coming from. They have repeatedly been set up at the point of attack right before a bomb went off, so that they could take the picture of the slaughtered, dismembered bodies.
91 American, Israeli and Canadian victims of Hezbollah rocket attacks have filed an unprecedented 1.2 billion dollar lawsuit against the Al-Jazeera television network. Al-Jazeera is accused of intentionally providing real-time coverage of the locations of missile strikes inside Israel, in violation of Israeli security regulations, thereby enabling Hezbollah to aim its missiles more accurately. Al-Jazeera English, which refused to report that CBS newswoman Lara Logan had been brutally raped in Egypt's Tahrir Square the night Hosni Mubarak fell from power, will be presented with the Columbia Journalism Award for "singular journalism in the public interest," Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism has announced. The school's dean, Nicholas Lemann, declared that "Al Jazeera English has performed a great service in bringing the English-speaking world in-depth coverage of the turmoil in the Middle East. We salute its determination to get to the heart of a complicated story unfolding in countries where news has historically been difficult to cover."

Dan Gainor, vice president of business and culture at the Media Research Center, a conservative watchdog group, told FoxNews.com he wasn't surprised by the selection.
“It isn't surprising that the liberal and Soros-funded Columbia Journalism School is also fond of the anti-American Al Jazeera," Gainor said in a statement. "Promoting Al Jazeera has become a new media cause célèbre, especially at The New York Times where criticism of America is a badge of honor. But awarding a state-funded propaganda network that supports radicals in the Arab Street cheapens what is left of the Columbia Journalism School name."

Atlas reader Paul opines, "This, despite the network's gross dereliction in refusing to report the attack on Logan and its weasely explanation that "We believe, as a general rule, that we are not the story. When CBS issued their statement about the attack, they specifically asked the press to respect her privacy and that of her family. That's what we opted to do." CBS's statement actually was intended to make it known that Western journalists were under attack even after Mubarak fell.
This award is not only unjustified, it is obscene — dhimmitude at its craven worst."

Like the liberal media’s sole reason for existence is to promote the agenda of the Obama administration and the rest of the Left, so Al Jizz’s sole reason for existence is to advance Islamic jihad. I had no idea about the lawsuit against Al Jizz from 91 of the Hezbollah bombing victims. I hope they win, and win big! And keeping silent about Lara Logan’s gang rape? I guess in their mind-set, that is a non-story. My goodness. P.S. Everyone should check with their cable company to make sure they do NOT carry Al Jizz. Comcast does carry Al Jizz. My cable company is Bright House in Florida, and the day they carry Al Jizz is the day they lose our family’s business, with a scathing letter telling them why. Right now, they don’t, and it better stay that way.

It’s so ironic that you’re calling Obama a muslim sympathizer, yet a little over a year ago some right wing nutjob was criticizing Obama for killing TOO MANY TERRORISTS via drone strikes. The argument was that we needed to keep them alive so we can find their leaders. (Now that Bin Laden is dead, are you seriously keeping up your absolutely insane ramblings about Obama being muslim infiltrator?

Then why are you here, Adam. Obviously our diva blogstress does not screen comments here to protect your sensitivities. You read these comments to intentionally fuel your own rage and hatred. At the time you are writing your responses you are probably thinking “I am so superior to you conservative fools.” But you’re just pretending. You know how worthless you feel about yourself.
The people I call my enemies I believe to be the enemies of humanity. For some reason that bothers people like you. So what is the real problem? Do you have an inferiority complex because you couldn’t get accepted at an Ivy League school? Do the commenters here remind you of your parents?

Al Jazeera is a tool for Islam which we are at war with. We just don’t yet know it here in America, however when we do wake up watch out! Other “bad guys” have felt our wrath before and Islam is no different! We are currently a sleeping Giant…the operative word is Giant! When we wake up, Islam is in big trouble!
If I were POTUS, I would simply tell the Arab leaders, “If we are attacked here in the US with biological, chemical or nuclear, missiles will be launched at several Arab sites. They will be nuclear and even I, the President of The United States can’t stop it! It is automatic. Mecca is the first target that we will obliterate so think about what you are doing and control your people or you will pay a very heavy price!

Thank God for Der Strumer and the Nazi propaganda machine for it taught the world openly all about anti semitism, and the evil effects it had on innocent German People. Has anything really changed in 65 years? Apparently not. The underlining hatred towards Jews still exist regardless of who is putting out the dribble.
The New York Times, or Al Jazeera are just some of the news papers that promote the inner violence that exists in all human beings. The strict towards Jews is not a new phenomenon but each publication of some happening concerning Jews merely reinforces the belief that we are superior, and this superiority kindles more hatred and on and on it goes.
No one really cares if Al Jazeera really get an award or not, what America needs to work on and especially America’s Jewish population is to end the superiority thinking and come down to reality. America’s Jews act just like the Nazis did towards their Jews; with a fear and a loathing for these “untermenschen” There are many Jews at Columbia University, even more so, there are many Jewish donors to the University. Need I say more?
