We should contact the populations that like the Armenians, were prey of the Ottoman Empire until 1917. They are well aware of the shouts: “The Turks are coming!”, echoing throughout the land.
Question: why was this post published in Russian?

It is not by Zhvanetsky. The original article was published in “Evreysky Mir” – “Jewish World”. I found it on their site. There was a quote from Zhvanetsky in front of the article. I’ll try to finish translating it tomorrow and will send it toPamela.

OK, I finished translating the article. So, Pamela, I hope you don’t mind me posting this translation here in the comments section. I will also post it on my own blog with some of my own comments. But first, some clarifications. As I mentioned above, the article appears to have been published in “Evreysky Mir” – “Jewish World” (http://www.evreimir.com/article.php?id=30310). The attribution to Mikhail Zhvanetsky is mistaken, probably caused by copy/paste error. Mikhail Zhvanetsky is a Russian-Jewish satirist. He is originally from Odessa, but now lives in Moscow. There is indeed a quote of him in front of the article, which reads: “You say, you are the captain? You prove it – and we will sail with you.” Since the article talks about elected officials, our so-called leaders, this quote applies. The article itself was written by Ilia Galak. The title is “The Battles of Importance Exceeding Local”. This title requires an explanation. During WW2, when the Soviet radio was reporting on the events from the front, they would say about areas where no major battles were taking place: “There were battles of local importance.” Here is the article below:

There are people who dream of converting our country, or even the whole world, into a nation-wide harem. Or Caliphate – whatever you want to call it. Few clear-thinking people who survived the times of Historical Materialism (Marxist philosophy – Eric-Odessit) call the movement for Caliphatization of the whole world “Radical Islam”.
We, as polite and politically correct citizens, must bow to the will of these thugs. Why?, But of course, because we are cultured, well-mannered, and, most importantly, POLITICALLY CORRECT. In other words, we are a country of scared idiots.
And now – to the issue at hand.
March 13, 2011. Bay People. Demonstration of protest against construction of a mosque in the area populated for the most part by Russian-speaking Jews.
Why there? Well, because this is their MO, their tactics and strategy. If the mosque get built, than in ten years there will be no more “Russians” (Note how the word “Russians” author put in quotes: those people are not “Russians”, but Jews from the former Soviet Union and all naturalized Americans – Eric-Odessit). Only Muslims will be there. Their leaders – MAS (Muslim American Society) – capture territory this way. By the way, according to Pamela Geller and other well known experts in “islamization of the whole country”, MAS is the “peaceful” wing of the Muslim Brotherhood.
There were a lot of speakers at the rally. Legendary Pamela Geller, Robert Spenser, Andy Sullivan were among them. Their speeches were interrupted by applause of the hundreds of people who came to the front line of the struggle for the future of our country, for the future of our children and grandchildren.
As usual, our “elected people’s representatives” in various elected offices were hiding in the bushes. I think they understand everything quite clearly. It is just that their main goal is to be re-elected, to stay near the feeder. And for that they need the votes of Muslims and the votes of huge quantity of leftist “defenders of human rights”. I think they (the politicians) were sitting there calculating how it would be best and to their maximum advantage to react – or not to react – to this confrontation between MAS and our politically correct representatives on one side, and the majority of the residents of Sheepshead Bay (and not only Sheepshead Bay).
Against this background I’d like to note the speech of David Storobin, the vice-president of Brooklyn Republicans. He is the only Brooklyn politician who was not afraid to step on stage and openly say what he thought. Thank you, David!
Here is the gist of what he said.
Perhaps the construction itself is legal (if you don’t count disagreements on zoning and multiple construction violations). But… According to Anti-Defamation League, the main construction partner of this mosque is Muslim American Society — MAS, which “has troubling history of cooperation with radical organizations and private individuals supporting terrorism and antisemitism, and rejecting the right of Israel to exist as an independent state”. Furthermore, “Internet sites connected to MAS publish articles in support of jihad and suicide bombers”. Also, ADL maintains that MAS is “the leading American Muslim organization conducting anti-Israel activities in the USA”. One of the MAS leaders said that “the Jews are the unique historical and religious example of people who took the wrong path”.
Many publications in the press (Chicago Tribune, Investigative Project and others) make the members of our community think very seriously about what MAS represents.
David expressed concern that the elected officials were absent and called on them to actively participate in the process. After all, that is the reason why they represent the people in elected offices. He said: “We ask you to get involved in the process by any available means in order to slow construction. Perhaps you will be able to publicize data about foreign sources of financing the project, so that we could be sure that the construction partners would act in accordance with the Foreign Agents Registration Act — FARA. Any public tactics chosen by you will give you time to research the data on MAS. And if the concern about MAS will turn out to be unfounded, and if all concerns of local residents about overcrowding of the streets with traffic, parking problems and noise level will dissipate, then we will be able to fully accept our new neighbor without any fears.”
Will our “people’s representatives” hear us? Senator Shumer, Congressman Weiner, State Senator Kruger, Assemblywoman Weinstein, Councilman Fidler, where are you?
