San Francisco Runs Anti-Semitic Outdoor Campaign — No Word on AFDI/SIOA Pro-Israel Campaign

33

San Francisco BART has been running an antisemitic outdoor campaign at a number of outdoor BART stations for well over a month now. I became aware of them last month when Seattle had agreed to run antisemitic ads on their buses, but had second thoughts when I submitted pro-Israel educational ads.

After Seattle changed its policy on account of my ads, I submitted our outdoor campaign to San Francisco back on December 29th.

Here is the report from the notorious Jew-hating site "The Electronic Intifada," the same Palestinian blogger that outed Barack Hussein Obama as an anti-semite back in March 2007 (and there is more here).

Story continues below advertisement

Check out the ad — a play on the jihad is a religion of peace.

Boycott roundup: day of action against TIAA-Cref
Report, The Electronic Intifada, 10 December 2010

Paid advertisements going up around areas of the US calling for an end to US military aid to Israel. (Two Peoples One Future)

Palestine solidarity activists are organizing a day of action today, 10 December, to encourage "people of conscience" to join the more than 18,000 who have already signed a US-wide petition urging financial holdings corporation TIAA-CREF to disinvest from construction vehicle manufacturer Caterpillar Incorporated.

According to campaign coordinating group Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP), TIAA-CREF has invested more than $250 million in Caterpillar, which the group says is "complicit" in Israel's violations of US and international law ("December 10: TIAA-CREF day of action).

Yes, your basic nightmare.

This day of action is just part of JVP's ongoing campaign to target TIAA-CREF. In July, activists attended the shareholder meeting and presented an "overwhelming" amount of signatures they had gathered in support of TIAA-CREF's divestment from companies that profit from Israeli occupation policies.

Meanwhile, the Palestinian-led movement of boycott, divestment and sanctions (BDS) against Israeli human rights violations and apartheid policies continues to gather steam elsewhere around the world.

Here are my bus ads — the AFDI Freeedom lovers and historical accuracy ads:

SAN FRANCISCO RUNS ANTI-SEMITIC OUTDOOR CAMPAIGN — NO WORD ON AFDI/SIOA PRO-ISRAEL CAMPAIGN
The Left’s alliance with Islam is similar to its alliance with the Nazis. After the Nazi-Soviet pact (August 1939) the Left protested the American rearmament in 1940 (fall of France occurred June 1940) and continued to protest American aid to Britain right up till Nazi Germany invaded Russia on 6/22/1941. In fact, there is a famous photo (it can be found on the Internet) of “anti-war” protesters in front of the White House on 6/21/1941 calling on FDR and the US to stay out of the war-and the next day (after the USSR was attacked), the same protesters call for the U.S. entry into the war.
I recently read some comments by the newsman Water Lippmann (1889 – 1974). I was struck by the sharpness of his insights into his era, an era that saw the rise of Nazism and Communism . He said that underneath it all, the so-called American “Liberals” and “Progressives” were “totalitarians.” I agree.
The Left will ally with other totalitarians. We must not be surprised at that.
Lippmann noted that many people in journalism (what we call “the media” today) have fixed ideas and agendas, and are not rational. As per Lippmann, they will attack, even attempt to destroy any person who presents facts and opinions that contradict their ideology.
Not much has changed since Lippmann’s time.
Lippmann seems to have seen (I think correctly) that the real divide in the 20th century was between totalitarians and everyone else. It looks like that’s going to be the divide in the next hundred years, too.
A lot of Nazis today call themselves “Progressives.” It’s the Nazi-Soviet Pact all over again. Birds of a totalitarian feather flock together.

From the same fine folks that proclaimed traitor Manning to be their hero.

They have aligned with the enemies of this country.
When will they be dealt with as such?

It’s a pretty horrendous site full of falsehoods and absurd logic, all while pretending to be fair and cool.
For example under the heading Background: “Why is Israel so often criticized in the UN? Aren’t other countries just as guilty of human rights violations?
According to Phyllis Bennis in her book Understanding the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict – A Primer, “There are many countries in the United Nations which commit human rights violations. Israel is criticized by the international community more than many other countries because its violations of Palestinian human rights are also violations of international law and a host of specific UN resolutions. That is because the specific violations often targeted by UN resolutions – building settlements, demolition of Palestinian houses, military attacks on civilians, closures and curfews, etc. – all take place in the context of a military occupation that is itself illegal.
Other countries – Algeria, Sierra Leone, Uzbekistan, many more – commit massive human rights violations against their own population, but only Israel carries out those actions against a population that is supposed to be protected by the Geneva Conventions, which guarantee safety for people living under occupation.”
What a joke and how dangerous the worthless UN really is when it supports the evil intentions of complete morons. Can people not see the stupidity of ignoring genocide of millions in the Sudan or the idiocy of cutting military aid to Israel while continuing to support undemocratic and corrupt Arab and Muslim regimes which are hostile to the United States?

Why do I suspect they intend to deny a future to one of those “people.”

How about some adds that focus on the deliberate ruthlessness of the terrorists and the innocence of the victims. It has nothing to do with a “cycle of violence”.
It has everything to do with hatred and brutality. It’s all about pure evil.
We need to shitcan this ridiculous propaganda that Arab terrorists and Israeli children are the victims of Israeli defensive actions.

Interesting post Frank. I think your arguments have great merit.
Lately I said (part of)the same to a colleague and he answered: Well, the left (to which he more or less adhered, in a mild way) is concerned about poverty of people and sharing the wealth more honestly and social policy in general and that then is what they have in common with the Muslims.
I suppose that in this way both are against “the capitalist system, which exploits many people so much”, as they see it. Well, if that is what a part of the leftists think, they better start realising there is a big difference between SocialDemocrats and Totalitarian Communists. And the Muslims are much more like the latter.
The same colleague later was curious why Muslims in Holland and other European countries do not partake in Democratic Elections with political parties on which Muslims can massively vote (there are 2 small Islamic parties, but most Muslims either do not vote, or vote, (surprise!!!) the leftist Labour Party (and related parties). Some even jokingly refer to the Labour Party as the Party of the Allochtones (a pun on the name PvdA).
Oh, and another colleague, a nice Muslima, always said “Do not blame religion Islam for what Muslims do”. And when I said; what if I reframed my case in a struggle between Democracy and Theocracy (Or Totalitarian)? Of that she greatly approved! No doubt thinking she as Muslima automatically sided with the Democracy-loyalists, totally ignorant about what Islam really teaches in this respect.

TORONTO—A British right-wing group responsible for a wave of violent anti-Islamist street protests in the United Kingdom will attempt to spread its message to Canadians at a rally in Toronto next week.
A “support rally” for the controversial English Defence League is scheduled to take place at the Toronto Zionist Centre on Tuesday night. The event is being organized by the Jewish Defence League of Canada.
Tommy Robinson, the EDL leader, will speak at the rally through an on-line hookup. It is believed to be the first Canadian rally for the EDL, repeatedly linked to violence since it formed in 2009 to counter Islamist militancy in Britain.
“I am disappointed that the JDL would support an organization whose record in the U.K. is one of violence and extremism,” said Bernie Farber, CEO, of the Canadian Jewish Congress. “This is more than unwise and I sure hope they reconsider this decision.”
Dozens have been arrested at EDL protests, including Mr. Robinson, an alias used by Stephen Lennon. He was charged in November with assaulting a police officer at a confrontation with Islamists who burned poppies during a two-minute silence for veterans.
“The root cause of the problem is the Koran, it’s Islam,” he told the BBC on Nov. 19. “And no one has got the balls to admit it and say it and talk about it. We will. We’re not creating these divisions and this extremism. It’s already there. That’s why we formed. If there was no militant Islam there would be no EDL.”
Professor Matthew Goodwin said the EDL has links to football hooligan networks and draws most of its support from the young working class but unlike the traditional far right it is open to all races and faiths.
“It wants members of the Sikh community, similarly members of the Jewish community to become involved as a way of opposing what the EDL calls radical militant Islam, even though it’s actually just talking about Islam,” said Prof. Goodwin, a lecturer at the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham.
Over the past three to four months, the EDL has been trying to forge links internationally and has reached out to Dutch far right politician Geert Wilders and U.S. conservatives, he said. “This is part of that attempt to forge international links,” he said of the Toronto rally.
The EDL support rally is advertised on the JDL website. “JDL supports the EDL,” the announcement reads. “The EDL needs international support to help it support the values of freedom that Britain was once famous [for]. Now is the time to step forward and stop political Islam.”
Meir Weinstein, national director of JDL Canada, said he was visiting Israel when he met someone connected to Mr. Lennon. The two later got acquainted on the phone. He said he was aware Mr. Robison had been arrested.
“I don’t know everything about the leader of the EDL but from what we see they’re on the streets and they’re very vocal supporting Israel, supporting Israel’s right to defend itself and standing up to political Islam, so that’s about it.”
Prof. Goodwin said he doubts the EDL message will resonate in Canada. He said it appeals primarily in working class districts of northern England that have little experience with multiculturalism.
“Your nation is on the whole at ease with ethnic cultural diversity,” he said. “So I think the message itself may not resonate. What might be significant is whether this turns into some substantive links between groups in Toronto and the EDL, and whether there’s any financial resources or logistical support that comes out of that because that is what the EDL is lacking.”

Atlas: you nailed it with those ads. Hopefully the outcome will be as favorable on the West coast as it was for you in NYC.
When this was first mentioned, but before you posted your counter-ads, I did a quick mental review of images of Palestinian atrocities over the the years.
I recalled exactly two of the pics that form the montage of the first poster: ‘One billion dollars to Hamas..’, namely: the slaughter of innocents via homicide-bombing on an Israeli bus, and the pic of the savages who killed IDF soldiers at that outpost, then triumphantly held up their bloody hands (the blood of their victims) to a cheering crowd.
As long as your enemy maintains a ‘foreign policy’ of wholesale, cold-blooded murder of innocents, of inhuman acts of savagery as those depicted, there can be no dialog, no compromise.

Orwell (who was a Leftist-but anti-authoritarian) said that the political Left after 1933 forgot to be anti-totalitarian when they were “anti-fascist.” Orwell was not shocked by the Nazi-Soviet Alliance in 1939. He knew that the Left’s idea of liberty is about what other people “should” think, and how they “should” behave.
This control-freak type is usually found in religions, and in political ideologies. In this case (Islam-Left) they are natural allies with one being a political ideology calling itself religion and the other a religion calling itself a political ideology. Both treat beliefs as if they are facts and seek to impose them on Unbelievers.
Dietrich Bonhoffer, not long before he was executed by the Nazis, was asked by a fellow prisoner if he thought Communism was the alternative to Nazism. Bonhoffer said “I think Gd hates ideology.” (He also said something similar in a letter to a Swiss Bishop of the Lutheran Church in the 1930s. He saw the devil in totalitarian systems where beliefs are treated as facts.)
There are a lot of control-freaks out there with fixed ideas of how other folks should think, behave. Islam, at its core, is a totalitarian ideology. It has so many inner contradictions (as did Communism) that it will collapse under the weight of the communications revolution as Unbelievers grasp its true teachings.
Take, for example, the doctrine of abrogation that has the Qu’ran’s chronologically earlier suras canceled by later suras (the Qu’ran is allegedly dictation via the angel Gabe from Gd to Moe) that have the later suras (updated orders from Al) calling for deception, domination and finally the extermination of Unbelievers (especially the Jewish people).
The Muslim Hustle will not work as time goes on..deep down Muslims know that this “religion” has no Universal Golden Rule and is an absolute danger to Unbelievers….reason will prevail-eventually….
Once again re abrogation: Ibn Warraq, page 115,Why I am Not a Muslim: “Now we see how useful and convenient the doctrine of abrogation is in bailing scholars out of difficulties. Of course, it does pose a problem for apologists of Islam, since all the passages preaching tolerance are found in the Meccan, i.e., early suras, and all the passages recommending killing, decapitating, and maiming are Median, i.e., later: “tolerance” has been abrogated by “intolerance.” For example, the famous verse at Sura 9.5, “Slay the idolaters wherever you find them,” is said to have canceled 124 verses that dictate tolerance and patience.”
and…
Ibn Warraq, page 11,Why I am Not a Muslim: The term “Islamic fundenentalist” is in itself inappropriate, for there is a vast difference between Christianity and Islam. Most Christians have moved away from the literal interpertation of the Bible; for most of them, “it ain’t necessaraly so.” Thus we can legitmately distinguish between fundamentalist and nonfundamentalist Christians. But Muslims have not moved away from the literal interpretaion of the Koran; all Muslims-not just a group we have called “fundamentalist”-believe that the Koran is literally the word of God.”

Excellent, excellent post. Thank you.
The gross hypocrisy of the Left reeks to high heaven and nowhere are the contradictions more blatant than in the insane support of Hitler between September 1939 and June of 1941. That alone should have discredited them forever. The fact that our media continues to act as a sounding board for totalitarian ideologues is reason enough to quit listening to anything they report.
Your facts are 100% accurate. My father (r.i.p.) lived through those times, and I heard many stories. As a WWII veteran he never forgave those people. It is incredible how little things have changed in 70 years / same lies, same techniques, in many cases proteges of the same people.

There are no “moderate” Muslims. There are Muslims and then there are Muslims with one foot out the door of Islam, Muslims who think Islam is a crock. (But they don’t act on their critical thinking out of fear, family pressure etc.)
Casandra Geller knows when a horse doesn’t look right, and is telling Mayor Bloomberg and others to beware of Muslims with Ground Zero Mosque Gifts. Eventually, she will succeed, do better than the original Cassandra who was not listened to by Troy’s Mayor.

Hey, thanks for a most interesting reply, Frank.
So I learned from you what Orwell was like and what he thought. And that both the totalitarian left (there is a democratic left) and Islam (there is no democratic Islam) are much about what other people should think. And that they treat beliefs as facts and want those beliefs to impose on unbelievers. How true.
Another writer said that they really seem to think of (despise) the masses as sheep, in need of being led by them as shepherds. Inevitably they will also deem it necessary that the sheep are to be guarded by sheepdogs.
In the DOHA-debates a few years ago the question was put before the audience; do we prefer to be sheep or goats? Goats standing for democratic-autonomy-preferring people. Goats are considered more to be more intelligent, capable of being autonomous.
Thank you also for giving me more reasons for long-term-optimism. Through the communications-revolution. A term I learned from you. Perhaps also through other staggering new technologies, such as in the medical sector, and solar power. We have an interesting decade ahead of us.

Muslims continue to be a mystery to me. Mostly very nice on the outside. But invariably disappointing when even probed to discuss Islam and Democracy, always tabooing the subject, or denying any responsibility either of themselves or the Islamic doctrine.

“It is incredible how little things have changed in 70 years / same lies, same techniques, in many cases proteges of the same people.”-WIde11
I don’t think there has been any change of human nature in recorded history (about 6,000+/- years). (BTW-6,000 years is not long in history? Did we destroy civilization 50,000 years ago? and then begin the long climb back?)
People are primitive. They treat beliefs as if they are facts and kill others who questions their beliefs in religion (or in the last 100 years “ideology”).
Humans are part of nature and nature is conflict-kill or be killed. Even trees in the woods fight for the sunlight and thus show a kind of consciousness as they reach for sustenance and sunlight. We are supposedly different from trees (or bears etc.) because we have “reason”?
Our intelligence only makes us more efficient predators. We invent “religious” and lately “ideological” systems that rationalize our exploitation of the other (culture, race, whatever).
All nations and Empires are founded in violence. Not one was not the result of the invasion and often the extermination of some so-called “indigenous people.”
Islam is religious system that rationalizes dehumanizing Unbelievers. The Arab Empire began with the violent rationalization system of Islam. Gd says its ok to raid the caravan of the Unbeliever. Right? We have “Democracy” and they have “Islam.” Make the world safe for Allah?
The whole thing is such fucking nonsense.
Maybe one day we will find the goodness gene that will enable us to see others as brothers and sisters? or else we will have another catastrophe and 50,000 years will pass before we are in the same place again?

“Meshugana is a Yiddish noun for a crazy person.”
I think the UN General Assembly should pass a resolution and rename the earth “Planet Meshugana.” We could have an annual Meshugana Day to replace “earth Day.” We can watch all the hairy-eyeball Nazis, Muslims etc. kill anyone who disagrees with their beliefs (which they treat as facts). Getting “stoned” will have a more relevant meaning as we gather in Central Park to suppress diversity of thought and celebrate the Meshugana life-style that we humans call “diversity of culture.”
“If my culture invades and exterminates-we celebrate it as pride-if other peoples do the same thing-then its “racism” or “genocide.” That’s the sign all the peoples’ “cultures” will have as they glare at each other.
Maybe Gd will send off a solar flare from the sun and head it toward earth and incinerate it to commemorate Meshugana Day as CAIR’s Fibrahim Hooper farts platitudes and lies as Central Park’s Meshugana Day keynote speaker. That will all happen after the parade of the sick-egos and “the march of the gavones” from the UN to Central Park.

Seems we are dealing with a real Meshugana in Arizona. I’ve been afraid something like this might happen. Probably eclipses anything discussed here other than the complete dishonesty of the media and it’s attempts to connect every violent demoniac to people who value freedom and limited government.
