UPDATE: Finally, A Hamas Leader Admits That Israel Killed Mostly Combatants In Gaza
My life-saving bus ads for Muslim apostates were banned in Detroit. We had to sue to get them up in Miami. We had to sue New York transit to get Ground Zero bus ads up, but Jews defending themselves are advertised as a war crime without hesitation. Over ten thousand rockets into southern Israel by "Palestinian" Muslims, but no ads condemning the actual war crimes.
Speech is free as long as you demonize Jews or Christians.

I imagine that the spokesman for this group, SS sympathizer Ed Mast, would shoot a Jew running away from a gas chamber in Poland for "war crimes."
Time to run some SIOA bus ads in Seattle to educate these neanderthals.

SEATTLE – "Israeli War Crimes," the enormous advertisement reads. "Your tax dollars at work."To the right of the image is a group of children — one little boy stares out at the viewer, the others gawk at a demolished building, all rebar and crumbled concrete.
It's an ad you'll be seeing soon on a handful of Metro buses in downtown Seattle.
A group calling itself the Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign has paid King County $1,794 so that 12 buses will carry that message around town, starting two days after Christmas. That's December 27: the two-year anniversary of Israeli attacks on Gaza, aimed at stopping rocket attacks and weapons smuggling.
Ed Mast, a Seattle man who is a spokesperson for the group, says it’s not meant to be an anti-Israel message, but a message designed to generate discussion and awareness.
"I wouldn't say it's an anti-Israel message any more than any complaint about a country is anti-that country. We would like Israel to stop violating human rights. We would like Israel to give equal rights to its Palestinian citizens and its Palestinian subjects who live under occupation," said Mast.
At the Pacific Northwest office of the Anti-Defamation League, the ad campaign is seen quite a bit differently.
"We're dismayed," says Community Director Hilary Bernstein, who calls the bus-born advertisement grotesquely one-sided. "Citizens young and old will be seeing this sort of propaganda, this very one-sided distortion. It's unfortunate."
So, is the side of a public bus the right place for this kind of attack? Are the issues that regularly inflame one of the most flammable hot-spots in the world appropriate fare for people strolling the sidewalks of Seattle?
As far as King County is concerned, it's not really up to them what appears on the side of their buses, as long as it fits specific guidelines regarding:
- Pornography
- Alcohol
- Tobacco, and
- As long as the images and material used don't interfere with public safety or insult specific groups to the point that a riot could be incited, vandalism could occur or public safety could be threatened.
King County Metro Transit spokesperson Linda Thielke acknowledges some people will be offended by the campaign, but that is not enough to prevent the rolling billboards from hitting the streets.
"As a government, we are mindful of the provisions in state and federal constitutions to protect freedom of speech. So, we can't object these campaigns simply because they offend some people," said Thielke.
The Seattle Mideast Awareness Campaign has targeted their advertising so that the buses carrying their message will run mostly on Seattle routes.

and, maybe a direct response to this one, put up by the muslims.
of course, seattle will respond that israelis/jews never riot and/or destroy buses, while that is clearly an expected response from muslim groups, so therefore they won’t run “anti-islamic” adds that “offend” muslims.
maybe the rest of us should be “offended” from time to time by what islam does to us? eh?

I’d love to know who did the printing job for this bunch of bigots. When I lived in Lynnwood I worked for a screen-printing outfit on 151st Ave NE in Redmond who did work for the Seattle bus barn on 4th Ave S. I remember the bus-vinyl jobs well, and daresay my former employer would never have taken that job. We may have had our differences but they were good people.
This campaign is a blot on the name of all Seattlites. I’d like to hear this group tell me how much better “Palestinian” women have it than their counterparts in Israel. Or how honest that thief Arafat was, who took money destined for Palestinian aid and diverted it to Swiss bank accounts. Let’s see how interested in fair play Seattle is by letting the ADL mount some bus banners for a few days.

A poll running on King 5 site at your link show that nearly 75% oppose these hateful ads. Pamela, you should challenge the Seattle moonbats with the SIOA bus ads. Even though I live on the Eastside, it’s been awhile since I’ve been to loony-lefty Seattle.

Funny how all it takes is one person being offended by a cross in the desert or a creche in the square for the Left to institute banning procedures and siccing the ACLU on the “case”. But they can’t be concerned with people being offended if it’s their hate messages being displayed. I’m stunned (not), for all of these years, I thought that the offense that one atheist felt was far more important and outweighed the feelings of thousands of others in their community.
We need to fight the hypocritical Left on every single issue like this, locally and nationally, until they are pushed back to the kook fringe that they somehow crawled out from.

I spent a little over an hour going through their website. Nonstop criticism of Israel but not a peep about the Palestinian attitude or what I like to call a camp that really belongs to Jordan. Much of what is written is made up of completely fabricated lies that anyone can dispel in a heart beat if you already don’t have the answers. There is actually a place where you can leave a comment. I am formulating some questions for it.

Let them donate to a program to respond, but only make the response better, stronger, and more obvious than these anti Semitic anal sphincters. They can put direct quotes from the Koran on the buses–what can the opposition say?

A response in kind would be to run ads (also on buses) with a photo of an Israeli bus destroyed by Palestinian suicide bombers.

how about an ad that says ” Islamic extremists attacked our country on 9/11, Don’t forget it! NY was first, who will be next?” and have a few pictures of the celebrations on Gaza streets and of our Towers falling and maybe a small child dressed as a suicide bomber and perhaps a blown up Jerusalem bus for empahasis- after all its only emphasizing the extremists, not the muslims who live in our beloved country peacefully and it would be free speech and actual fact…crappy propaganda! Shame on Metro busses for political pandering…..i will go back to driving my car and hope the rest of you do too!

So the policy is that an ad cannot insulting enough to incite a group to violence? Muslims who are submitted to Sharia law are obligated to enforce Sharia law (unless Muhammad’s doctrine of taysir is in effect because there are not enough Muslims/enough Muslims in power to enforce Sharia) and that means killing anyone who insults Islam, Muhammad, the Quran, etc. That is Muslim (Islamic) law. So, in effect, the ads cannot incite Muslims to enforce Sharia, but they can insult decent, non-violent people and any other group.

Laura, I agree that counter ads should be run in Seattle.
I agree that the message should be along the lines you suggested-
American taxpayer money given to the PA and Hamas etc. The
pictures (more than one should be used!) should center on children
being terrorized and killed. Children in Gaza being used as human
shields by the Hamas soldiers (war crime), children in Israel
running to shelters as their schools are blown up by missles
intentionally fired into civilian areas (war crime), children in the
West Bank attacked as they played by a Muslim with a hammer just
because they were Jewish (hate crime), etc. I would be willing to
contribute what I could to help in that effort.
