Massive Distortion of Massive Rally

El Marco over at Looking at the Left has fabulous (and more coverage coming) of our historic rally on Sunday: Go here.

Massive 9/11 Rally “News” Distorted by Establishment Media

This year’s 9/11 anniversary in New York brought opponents and supporters of
the controversial “ground zero mosque” to the streets by the thousands. That
fact has spawned a new controversy, as the American people yet again were served
a false narrative by the dominant liberal establishment mass media. Exhibit A:
in the “media reality distortion case #2478697,” is the photo scene below. This
photo shows the 9/11 Remebrance/Stop the Ground Zero Mosque Rally hosted by
Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer. According to the New York Times, that is a
crowd of 2,000 persons. According to the New York Daily News, the crowd below
contained “hundreds” despite the fact that it stretched jam packed as seen below
for three city blocks. Local NYC News Channel 10 reported live that there were
30,000 people at this rally. Channel 10 should be applauded for doing their job
and the rest of the media stands exposed. But wait! The distortion goes much
deeper than just downplaying by a factor of 10 or 20 the size of the Stop the
Ground Zero Mosque Rally.

Story continues below advertisement

Other speakers included 9/11 family members, first responders, and refugees
from Islamic regimes.

There were also video addresses by former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton and
media-man Andrew Breitbart. Bolton reminded the crowd about the ground zero
imam’s many outrageous public statements, including that Osama bin Laden was
made in the U.S.A., and that America has more blood on its hands than the
terrorists. Bolton brought up questions about the United States State
Department’s funding of Imam Rauf’s trip to the middle east, and the
Department’s thinking in general.

Among those lost were people from 55 nations, people of every religion and
every persuasion. No place on earth had a more multi-ethnic, multi-racial, and
multi-lingual workforce than New York’s proud towers.

That is exactly why they were targeted. They constituted an insult to
those who hold that there can be no peaceful cooperation among people
and nations without submission to Sharia; to those who wish to impose
the legal system of Islam on the rest of us. But New York and Sharia are
incompatible. New York stands for freedom, openness and tolerance. New
York’s Mayor recently said that New York is “rooted in Dutch tolerance.

Those are true words. New York is not intolerant. How can it be? New
York is open to the world. Suppose New York were intolerant. Suppose it
only allowed people of one persuasion within its walls. Then it would
not be New York, it would be New Mecca, a city without freedom. …”

“Mayor Bloomberg forgets, however, that openness cannot be open-ended. A tolerant society is not a suicidal society.

A tolerant society like your city New York must defend itself against
the powers of darkness, the force of hatred and the blight of
ignorance. It cannot tolerate the intolerant – and survive.

This means that we must never give a free hand to those who want to subjugate us.”

“… Why On 9/11 it wasn’t New York that was attacked, it was America
that was attacked. It was freedom that was attacked. And we can’t forget
not only what happened, not only the murderous intent that killed 3,000
Americans. We can’t forget for a moment that that they wanted to kill
50,000 Americans, or maybe 100,000 Americans. … We can’t forget that
since those attacks, hundreds of thousands of men and women around the
world have been killed by jihadists, in the name of radical Islam. From
Egypt to Bali, from Baghdad to Kabul, no one can forget there was a car
bomb here in Times Square six months ago. Folks, if  you think this is
over, it’s just beginning.

… So what’s my opinion about a mosque at ground zero? NO MOSQUE HERE. …”

Pantano tied in Iran’s actions against Israel with the Gaza Flotilla,
and pointed out Imam Rauf’s involvement with the Gaza Flotilla, and
questioned where the money from the mosque is coming from.

In the crowd there were families of those murdered on 9/11, military
veterans, New Yorkers, and people who had travelled from around the
country and from abroad to be here today. Above, three U.S. Marine Corps
veterans listened intently to Ilario Pantano, candidate for U.S. Congress.

Wave Chan, a New York Tea Party organizer, has filed a non-profit
corporation to raise money to make an offer for the Park 51 property. He
got the idea from Debra Burlingame, who was the sister of the pilot of
Flight 77 which was hijacked by jihadis and flown into the Pentagon,
murdering Burlingame’s brother and 188 other souls. Chan hopes to get a
memorial built at 51 Park Place. He noticed that the Preview of the 9/11 Memorial
doesn’t show a single image of an airplane, makes no reference to
terrorism or jihad, etc. Chan lives not far from ground zero. For many
hours on 9/11, 2001, Chan did not know whether his brother, who works in
the Financial District, survived the attack.

First responder FDNY firefighter Steve Sharp thanks Ms. Geller for
her work. Many off-duty firefighters and police officers from New York
City and other parts of the country were in the crowd.

Tremendous pictures and coverage! OBVIOUSLY this movement continues to grow at lightening speed. Recently Bloomberg made the comment that all of this will go away after the mid-terms! WHAT a moron.
This is a freight train that gets longer, heavier and faster as time goes by. The mid-terms are only a small side-show compared to what is happening here. Thank you Robert and Pamela for your guts and dedication!

Pamela, In future, hold your rallies in an open space where everyone can see how many people there are. In addition, hold it in a place where roads cannot be blocked and people turned back.

The constant distortions in the press to minimize us has to encourage us to be more vocal and have more rallies. I would say 30,000 is a fair number. The streets were packed for many blocks. I found myself in the first picture.

I really wish I could’ve been there. I like Wave Chan’s idea about raising money to buy the building, but the idea I like even better is for the Park 51 owners to *give* the building to the families of the victims of 9/11. It’s the least they could do to start making amends for the attack, right? Do I think that will ever happen? No. But we need to start demanding things like this to expose the hypocrisy behind their bridge-building rhetoric.

The media is actually bending over backwards to accommodate the Muslims.
I had a comment published in the NY Times questioning Islamic violence in the name of Islam.
No problem, they said. They published it.
Then they decided that my comment was objectionable, abusive and off topic ( the topic was….Islamic violence).

Longbow……. Dhimmi Press ahoy.
have just read a Tagesthema in the Lippische-Landes-Zeitung, number 213 dated Monday 13th September, this a German daily newspaper published in the bigest State in Germany, Nord Rhein Westphalia. The title “Tiefe Risse am Gedenktag”. Deep splits on rememberance day.
I nearly fell off my chair at the line: EIN PAAR HUNDERTDEMONSTRANTEN WAREN AUF BEIDEN SEITEN. What did that idiot write? yeh, that´s right….a couple a hundred on both sides. The absurd Obama piece “It was not a religeon it was Al Quiada” is thrown in as bonus. This “Days Theme” also claims in effect, the majority of the population are not in sympathy with this anti Mosque demonstration ………..Dietmar Ostermann wrote this deceitfull drivel.

Massive Distortion of Massive Rally
Why do you think that the Times etc. are in such trouble financially? They are no longer trusted as a news source that is worthy of being called news. Most people now get their news from the Internet, and the contrast between the above pictures and the reported “news” will again be noted on the net. The mainstream media “news” is similar in value to the “doctored” photos of the Israeli bombings in Lebanon of a few years ago. The contrast between the real and propaganda has reached the delusional in the “mainstream” media. The “mainstream” media is nothing anymore. They are the last one’s who will realize or see that.
In the next Thanksgiving Day Parade there will be a “mainstream” media report that the Bullwinkle the Moose balloon and the Imom Rauf balloon (Imom Rauf’s balloon will be reported as looking like the picture on this page (above) in front of the GZ mosque) got tangled, and that will be reported by Racial Madcow and Keith Ubernut’s son as a front page report on The New York Times.

Pamela, this has to be a yearly event and it should grow in size each year. Next year, the 10th aniversary of the attack should be huge. That’s also why it shouldn’t just focus on the construction of Park51, because inthat case if they pull the plug on the project then you’ll have no more reason to protest. Which doesn’t make sense, since islam is the problem and not just the Park51 building.

So, I kind of have a question or problem…
In church last week, the sermon was about forgiveness. According to the pastor, turning the other cheek is what we are supposed to do here. But then all the TV shows are saying we should not forgive them. I mean, people I always agree with are saying the exact opposite of what the pastor said! I don’t know what to think…
My pastor also said “religious intolerance is un-American.” Of course I already learned that in school, obviously. But being intolerant here is, IMO, totally the American thing to do. Freedom should be reserved for people that like freedom, right? If they want to stone women and keep girls out of school, we should stone them and keep them out of our country.
In the end, if the mosque is built, it will be OK. The reason I say that is that there is a strip club right down the road — same block and everything. That will make going to prayer difficult and uncomfortable for them. Maybe they won’t even go to prayer. They might even convert into normal Americans! (I can dream, can’t I?)

Political Correctness are the two most dangerous words in this country today..Also unbeknownst to most is the amount of Congressmen involved with these Muslim groups. This is all done in the name of Political Correctness and cultural ‘sensitivity’. I keep wondering why the main stream media continues to bend over for muslim interests against our own. After hearing details on every white supremacist group in the US for decades it seems this might be of some interest. These people are using our laws and our freedoms to fund the destruction of freedom and liberty anywhere they can. They are using OUR constitution against us.

I shouldn’t be bothered to answer such a “mean girl” comment, but I will if only to counter the image you are trying to portray
about this wonderful person, Pamela Geller. I met her on 9/11, up front and personal.
I could tell she was working hard, and since we were all sweating to death, I am sure that she was too, but she was still fresh faced,
joyful, kind, polite, pretty, and petite, not an ounce of fat on her, by the way, her long hair is something to be proud of!
What could be wrong with any of that? I don’t know what you are seeing, mean girl, but it just sounds like jealousy.
Pamela is far, far from a has been…are you serious? Do you know how to read?
Almost single handedly this lady has brought into the front lines the issue of this mosque. If it were not for
Ms. Geller being so brave, so well versed on the topic,
so driven and passionate, none of us would have had a rally to attend. I don’t think she was ever planning on
being a Michelle Malkin, or Ann coulter, because she is Pamela Geller, in fact I’d say that
she is the most relevant person right now that American can look towards
as a leader in this battle over the mosque being built in a building hit by terrorists on 9/11. So shut your pie hole!

Well, since Americans were the U.S. flag anywhere on the body,(towels- t-shirts, underwear, bathing suits, socks, etc.)- here’s a tip for a business venture, for whoever wants to pick it up:
The islamics were that keyafah cloth (or whatever it’s called) around the neck to denote solidarity.
Why don’t Americans prin t a woven cloth with the U.S. flag, – and wear it around the neck in the same way as the islamics?
A cotton woven cloth with the little fringes- of the U.S. flag.
It’d buy it and wear it ALL the time.

Sharia grants everybody the narrowly defined freedom to follow islamic law. Much like you grant everybody the narrowly defined freedom to be a perfect american patriot. It is quite astonishing how much you right-wingers have in common with the extremer forms of Islam. Is that why you’re so afraid of muslims? Takes one to know one? Outward projection of your own anger?
Freedom is an absolute. Forbid the building of a mosque, and you lost it.

(With regard to my photolink a few posts up, oops, my bad. Same street, same podium, different rally – but hey, how’s a sane person to guess that you people are so addicted to these things that you have one every couple of weeks… It doesn’t make the 9/11 event any less pathetic, obviously; I’ve seen the clips on Youtube and I saw Wilders’ speech live on TV; there were a couple of thousand people at the very most; an estimate confirmed by one of the posters above who was there himself. You guys have a talent for exaggeration that is mind-blowing, and you seem to see a lot of things that aren’t really there.)

The fat master of Taqqiya, Irfan Yusuf, safely ensconced in Sydney (naturally) , surfaced again in the NZ Herald this morning, after a decent period of silence. A while ago, the paper was forced to accept that he’d told some lies; I think they wait until they think we’ve forgotten, then turn him loose again. His column, ironically titled “The hate that can change the world”, is an appalling misrepresentation of the 9/11 protests over the mosque (but I can’t find it on the net yet).
Oh the irony – if EVER there was a title that described Islam, it’s “The hate that can change the world”.

When I showed it to a friend of mine, he wrote this to the NZ Herald:
Dear Editor
IRFAN YUSUF MISREPRESENTS 9/11
Irfan Yusuf’s view of the recent 9/11 protests is so far off the truth that it amounts to propaganda, and his misrepresentation of principal organiser Pamela Geller is close to libellous. On the day, about 30,000 “average Americans” from all races, walks of life and religions, and including 9/11 families, gathered at Ground Zero to make the point that a mosque should not be built there. By comparison, the number opposing that view was pitifully small, but enough to create disorder, which was given disproportionate attention (as usual) by the media.
