I think your line of attack was excellent-its too bad there wasn’t enough time, because you came very close to calling out the muslims on their hatred, insensitively and bigotry towards non-muslims and especially Jews.

It is not racist to oppose building something that is aggressively provocative and claim that it’s some sort of attempt at tolerance and bridge-building. (Btw, if I hear these fools say the Victory Mosque Imam is bridge-builder again, I’m going to damage some of my property).
America has been accused of being primed for an anti-Islamic backlash for the last decade, yet the biggest threat to American Muslims seems to me to be other Muslims in the U.S. Rifqa Bary’s parents threatened to kill her for leaving Islam. Noor Almaleki was killed by her father for being too westernized. There are countless examples of this and zero examples of American on Muslim violence or backlash.
The people who are vocally opposing the Victory Mosque are doing so because it is in bad taste for Muslims to put it in a place where their fellow believers killed 3,000 people. Peacefully speaking out against this does not make one a racist or intolerant.

They seem to want to hide behind irrelevant issues and charges like racism, and religious freedom no matter because they have no reason they want to admit to as to why they should build this mosque at that place. The need for a mosque there is nil. Very few muslims in that area, it is not a residential area but a commercial area and there are already two mosques in the area. It is to gloat over the terrorist attack on 9-11 period. But they cant and wont admit that so they throw out these false accusation and name call. When your opponents start name calling you have won.
Please note they do not mention the Christian chruch, St. Nicholas, that was damaged in the 9-11 attack and that has been trying without sucess to rebuild for nine years. That to me sums up the religious intolerance issue.
