HAPPY GRADUATION SWEETIE! I believe Amina will hear this poem…do you?
Amina, and Sarah were murdered by their dad on the first of
this year…in an honor killing. They are my great-nieces and I wrote this poem
for Amina’s graduation.

O’er the years of your short life, You
persevered and overcame, All the grief and imprisoned strife Which left
you wise, To bear no shame!
Amina, your courage and strength desired
to be best. I understand with all my heart! You, set the bar and passed
your test! Now, in God’s hands, you will never depart!
Depart from a
love so pure and so real, So, bask in His presence, I will see you
someday. This gives me comfort, my heart does thrill! Know I will see you,
in your heavenly array!
Tomorrow, you should be graduating, With your
classmates and friends. Congratulations Amina, your accomplishments
outstanding! Your life was taken by the one you called dad…still, no
amends. But, Amina, your deeds and works have proven
resounding!!
Gail Gartrell 2008 In loving memory of Amina
Tomorrow Amina would have attended her high school graduation. And all like everything else American, Amina embraced these things with a passion few could muster or understand. The only time the Said sisters had any life, any peace of mind was when they were at school or anywhere else away from that homemade concentration camp of a home. They were tortured, beaten, raped for years with the tacit approval of their mom from hell, Tissie. They ran away, she brought them home …. to be tortured and murdered shortly thereafter.
Those girls really believed the West would save them. They were all AP classes, tennis, soccer, all of it. Top of the class. They thought the West would save them. Not only did their teachers, the judicial system, child services (who were notified many times) fail them in life. The West failed them in death. They ignored their murder – the media, law enforcement, everyone in the hope that this honor killing will get relegated to the dustbin of homicidal history.
The time bomb brother of these tortured honor killing victms, Amina and Sarah Said, is living in his own private jihad. Islam Said, brother of these poor things, believed they got what they deserved.
He has decended into thuggish, bombastic, radical. Look at his comments on his myspace page.
